Evenlode Cottage is a beautifully refurbished Grade II listed Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps two guests, in one well-appointed bedroom, with two spacious shower rooms. On the ground floor you have a stylish open plan kitchen/dining area with access to the seating area in the communal courtyard, a space to enjoy all year round. Indoors there is a cosy snug with Smart TV and electric flame effect fire. Just seconds from the market square, Evenlode Cottage is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for two medium sized dogs.

This one bedroom holiday cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold is perfectly suited for those looking to get away for a romantic break, exploring the local countryside and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Scaffolding

I was not expecting the cottage to be sounded by scaffolding and the outside area needs some attention. The location was fantastic

We would like to clarify that the property is not surrounded by scaffolding. There is a small amount of scaffolding on a neighbouring property within the courtyard, as well as on the antiques shop, which is visible from two of the cottage's windows. However, the scaffolding does not surround the cottage itself. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Bank holiday weekend in Stow

Where to start with this gem! Hidden at the top of the high street in Stow, literally stone throw distance from pubs etc. Shared courtyard with 2 other cottages, private parking space outside. The location and surrounding area was amazing! Cottage was perfect, no complaints at all.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

A small but well equipped cottage. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook a meal, you could then retire to the cosy first floor snug with a good supply of dvds for a relaxing evening in. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. As we stayed for a week more storage in the bedroom would have been nice. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely be back!

Such an an amazing stay! The cottage had everything we needed and it was also very clean and tidy. The location is fabulous right round the corner from the main car park in Stow On The Wold and you even have your own private parking space which is so handy as parking can be quite hard to find! We will definitely be back, thank you for such lovely stay.

Perfect location

The property was in an ideal location and was very quiet. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Communication was excellent. My only criticism is the sofa was sagging towards the back and after 3 evenings of use my back ached so much that we came home a day early. Such a shame. If the sofa were replaced it would be 10 out of 10.

Pre Christmas Cotswold break

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage, Stow on the Wold was perfect. The cottage was gorgeous and the parking space was an added bonus.The only downside of our stay was finding stains on Mattress protector when we stripped the bed.

Perfect Location

If you enjoy walking through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside Evenload Cottage is a great place to stay. We especially enjoyed having two showers and full bathrooms for quick changes. Very well maintained and comfortable.

Home away from home

We had an excellent stay and found the accommodation had everything we needed and more. A lot of thought had gone into comforts of the guests. I was very impressed with the high spec and quality of the accommodation guide book. It was easy to follow and well laid out. The milk and the cake were appreciated. On our next visit to the Cotswolds we will be very happy to use your website.

Fantastic location with parking included which is rare in this area. The village of Stow on the Wold is incredibly charming and friendly with loads of shops, restaurants and walking paths. Best walk is right accross from the cottage through the footpath to the cricket field where views of the gorgeous Cottswold hills greet you. An incredibly dog friendly city, it seems to be the place for British travellers on break so not surrounded by touristy fluff, but instead filled with historical charm. It is busy in the summer so set out early! The cottage itself is comfortable and though it is three floors, which at first I thought it could be a challenge for me --they are carpeted with hand rails and the handy side grip at the corner landing had me manuevering them like a pro. There was a heat wave the first view days so a small fan would have helped tremendously as the air was still cool. The kitchen was modern with every tool needed to create a meal, however there are no basic condiments or spices so I ate out or bought ready made meals at the M&S shop in town. However, the needed necessities were provides such as soap, toilet paper and a few coffee pods, tea and sugar as well as a lovely surprise of cake and milk when I arrived. If I were staying longer I would have a proper shop at the Tesco a few minutes up the road but I enjoyed my meals at the many choices in town. I would love to spend a longer time there if I return some day. Highly reccommend Evenlode Cottage!

Short Stay

Lovely little property in a really good location. Very well appointed & extremely cosy. My only constructive criticism was that it was difficult to locate initially. Rather than messing about with apps, just let visitors know in the property info’ that the entrance (via the white gates) is opposite the Police Station. Simple…

Excellent accommodation, great location to explore the Cotswolds

Evenlode Cottage was a lovely place to stay, had everything you needed, home from home. Very clean, comfortable and good spec. Great location to explore the Cotswolds and beautiful Stow. Would definitely stay here again. Excellent communication from booking start to finish. I was worried about not having a garden but the property is set in a courtyard with 3 other properties and has a little terrace to sit, the courtyard is gated which is handy for letting the dog out for a wee and a little roam around before setting off for the day on our walks. Thank you for a lovely stay.

3 nights in Stow

This accommodation is of a high standard and benefits greatly from under floor heating. Probably only suited for a couple only. There's everything you need for a stay with convenient on site parking and slap bang in the middle of Stow. The ground floor kitchen is well equipped, the middle floor is very comfortable for a relaxing evening and the top floor has a great comfy bed.

Comfortable, cosy stay

Well located little cottage in easily walkable Stow-on-the-Wold. We really appreciated the under floor heating, heated towel rails, fresh linen, cooking facilities, washing machine, the milk and sponge left for us, the list goes on! Evenlode Cottage really does have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only thing is the bed and sofa were very soft (as in, sink in to) some may like that, we prefer firmer. And a problem created by guests staying in the other cottages was their dog’s POO left in the yard!! We had to tread with great care every time we went to our car.

Relaxing stay in well situated property.

A nice relaxing stay in a well situated, lovely little property. What three words takes you directly to it. The house is well furnished and the car parking is located off the street in a gated courtyard area. The bed would benefit from a double mattress, as it is two single bases fixed together. (Probably because a double bed wouldn't fit up the stairs). Little booklet of walks and map of the area was handy. Would definitely stay there again.

Evenlode cottage review

the cottage was beautifully situated on the high street in Stow on the wold. It had everything we needed with the addition of milk and a cake when we arrived. The bonus was a secure parking space and bus stop just around the corner . We thoroughly enjoyed and stay and hope to revisit
