Enjoyed the spaces for young adults and parents to hang out together and separately. Had a fantastic time at the cabin and enjoyed the lake access for water sports.
We enjoyed the house for our guys golf trip. Owner was easy to communicate with both during and after trip. The basement bar was a blast and fun for the evenings. Plenty of space for a group of 13 guys to sleep and hang out. Didn't really use the patio or lake portion of the home. The canoe and water items were not useable and backyard needs some TLC. We had a wonderful stay but had to go to the local bar/grill to get our lake life fix.
We had a fantastic time. We had 10 adults and 8 kids. Plenty of room for the kids to play and adults to sit and talk. The kids were able to catch fish from the pier. It was nice to have a pool table. Close to Lake Geneva, hiking trails & golf courses. Only negative was the washing machine didn't work.
This property is perfect for a family! With some updates here and there - it's obvious that the owners are interested in keeping their property nice. Many amenities and comforts of home (from teapots, to irons, hairdryers, fully stocked kitchen, gas stove, gas grill, lighted deck, steam shower, pool table, I could go on and on!). We really enjoyed the fireplace and long kitchen table where the kids learned our family traditional card games from the great aunts. The deck was comfortable for our whole crew to enjoy! Some of the older folks in our crew really appreciated the lift to get down to the fire pit and dock.
A short drive from the property we enjoyed a local winery, the famous Elegant Farmer (and their pies), and hiking at a local park. It's in a lovely quiet neighborhood that we enjoyed for a stroll.
The house was very nice and spacious. The host was very accommodating and helpful. There are a lot of (and somewhat narrow) steps inside and to the dock. We had someone with a foot injury so it was difficult. The outside steps are very slippery when wet so we did not go down to the fire pit. It rained several days. The water by the dock has a lot of vegetation so the kids did not want to swim there but there is a nice little beach at Whitewater. The house is very kid friendly. We had children 0-9 and they enjoyed it. There was enough space for 3 families without feeling cramped. This was our first time renting like this and we were satisfied.
Positives: on lake, many beds, fun basement
Negatives: dirty dishes in sink upon arrival, owners items in the refrigerator, owners laundry in the dryer, owners used soap in shower, owners used scrubs in shower, many beds without proper sheets and pillows, owners toothbrushes in bathroom, dishwasher was clean but full upon arrival, so many items in the cabinets and no understanding of where to put items, it is waterfront but at the end of a canal and no swimming options, playground overrun with weeds not playable, the stairs to the dock had one rail missing, firepit area overrun with weeds. Check the canx policy, it is the most strict on vrbo i have seen.
This is a great location, remote and quiet, just what we wanted. Our family reunion was a big success! No WiFi was an issue for people who needed to make contact with work issues, and of course kids were not happy about it, but sometimes itâs nice to disconnect. However cell phone reception was limited so getting directions was challenging at times. All said and done we had a wonderful time and wouldnât hesitate to go back and do it again.

We had a great time! :)
We had 4 families stay at this property for 5 days for New Year's, and we all loved it. It is located right next to a lake, neighborhood is very quiet, area is beautiful for walks. The house itself has plenty of space - both indoor an outdoor. Kids loved sleeping on the bunk-beds upstairs, and playing games downstairs. We will definitely try to come back in the future... :)
We stayed for 4 days here in June with 8 adults and 5 kids. Plenty of room for everyone to eat, sleep, and relax. The kids loved the main level bar area with the pool table, large TV's and assorted games and toys. There is a fantastic large cooler on this level, like you would find in liquor store. We were able to store all our water, beer, juice in this cooler. The laundry room is also on this level. The mid level has the kitchen, living room, dining area and 3 bedrooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your meals. Plenty of pots, pans, silverware, glassware. The 3rd level has a sitting area, a main area that has a three level bunk bed, which the kids loved and a separate bedroom. It was hot on our trip and the air conditioning is poor at this level. We had to use a box fan to blow cool air from the mid level up the stairs to make it tolerable. The air conditioning works great on the other levels. This house has a large deck with plenty of seating available. The grill was disgusting. It's a natural gas feed that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. It took at least an hour to burn off old grease and food bits. In the description of the premise, the owner listed a power lift down to the water and fire pit, as it is quite a precarious decent down or up via the wood stairs. It was one of the reasons I chose this location because my wife has bad knees, and my daughter and daughter in-law are pregnant. So low and behold the lift did not work, and the owner advised me it was currently not working after we got there. They did not make the trek down for obvious reasons. We were very disappointed with the lake location. This home is near the end of a narrow, shallow and weedy channel. There is no view of the main lake here. He mentions taking a dip in the lake, there is no way any of us were going swimming here. The water is clear but I eased off the pier and was up to my thighs in muck. Also the paddle boat was tipped over, full of mud, and the rudder was broken. The kids did catch some blue gill off the pier so that was a plus. The fire pit is nice with plenty of seating but at the time the mosquitoes were so bad we didn't have a fire. If the lake is not important to you and you are just looking for a large house to hold a large family comfortably, then you will like this house.
We stayed a week with 15 people. Property was mostly as expected and we really had a great time. There was plenty of room for our group, and additional beds left over, though some of these were in common areas that may be less conducive depending on your group. Kitchen was well stocked, fire pit was great, and the deck was a popular hang out. The basketball hoop in the drive way also got some use, and we had ourselves a pool tournament in the basement. While you are not going to swim from the dock, a short trip out to the main part of the lake takes you too a very nice sport lake that is clearly used for boating and fishing. Overall a great experience and the owners were very helpful.
I stayed at this property during New Year's weekend in a group of 14. The room descriptions are a little confusing, but the place is spacious. In total, the property would comfortably sleep 19 guests in beds (in 6 rooms):
Duck Room - 2 twin (sleeps 2)
Country Room - 1 queen (sleeps 2)
Red white and blue - 1 queen with top twin bunk, 1 bunk bed (sleeps 5)
Blue Jean - 1 pull out sofa/queen bed (sleeps 2)
Bunk/kids - 1 full/double with top lofted twin bunk, 3 twin triple bunk (sleeps 6). The top lofted bunk includes a small area for a pet/child
Master - Devils Tower - 1 queen (sleeps 2)
The hosts were responsive closer to our travel date and provided restaurant/activity recommendations. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to explore the backyard, patio, and lake due to subzero temperatures during our stay. Indoors, it stayed fairly warm in some areas and a little chilly in others, which is to be expected in a large house.
Please note that, at least at the time of my stay, the place did/does not have Wi-Fi, and T-Mobile and Sprint do not have reception here. Verizon and AT&T seemed to work well, but this note should likely be added to the description. If a couple members of our group did not have Verizon/AT&T, our group would not have been prepared to stay indoors all weekend in the cabin during the cold.
All in all, we had a nice stay, and we would be happy to return one day!
This is our home that we love to share with our friends however we never get here as much as we would like so we thought we would share it with other families when we are not here.
Its only an hour and a half from Chicago. We turned this home into a log cabin. Great wildlife during the week, they come out when the weekend warriors leave not to mention it is super quiet in the middle of the week.
A little bit off the beaten track, nice and quiet, you don't hear all the water crafts up and down the lake. Great fishing off the dock. This is where the fish come to get away. When your sitting on the deck it feels like your in a treehouse. At night, take a look up and see all the star constellations.
