Casa Toucan est au bout d'une route de montagne. Dès votre arrivée, une vue absolument incroyable vous accueillera. C'est tellement relaxant de regarder la vallée dans l'océan et de regarder le paysage au fur et à mesure que la journée change. Surtout en profitant de la piscine ou en se prélassant dans un hamac. Et les couchers de soleil sont à couper le souffle!

La maison est bien aménagée avec une grande cuisine, 2 salles de bain complètes, un lit king dans la suite principale (qui a exclusivement un climatiseur) et un lit queen dans la deuxième chambre.

* La casa a été mise à jour avec de la peinture intérieure / extérieure fraîche et un nouvel art en juillet 2018.

Vous passerez probablement la plupart de votre temps libre sur la terrasse. Offrant des meubles de salon confortables, des hamacs et bien sûr la piscine! Le patio relaxant donne sur des jardins magnifiquement entretenus remplis d'arbres fruitiers ainsi que sur l'incroyable vue panoramique sur l'océan Pacifique.

Casa Toucan est un paradis pour les amoureux de la nature. Être situé si près des montagnes, de la jungle, des petites fermes, de nombreux ruisseaux / rivières, cascades et de l'océan - c'est merveilleux. Possibilités constantes d'observation des oiseaux avec des toucans, des faucons, des colibris, des aracaris, des faucons, des perroquets, des chacalacas, des motmots, des caracaras et de nombreux autres visiteurs.

Il y a une cabane derrière la maison où vivent les gardiens andrey & stephanie. ** La confidentialité n'est pas un problème quoi qu'il en soit. ** Mais vous avez de l'aide et des conseils si nécessaire.

Great April vacation.

My wife and I spent a week at Casa Toucan, and thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and tranquility of this hill side home. The views of the Pacific are splendid, and the sunsets to remember.The home is in close proximity to Uvita, Dominical and the Osa Peninsula. Great local restaurants close by, one that is within walking distance is La Pala, and highly recommended.Jose is very knowledgeable of the area and will readily assist you with guidance, as is Tony.We have traveled many times to this area, and plan to return to Casa Toucan.

Relaxing and beautiful

The property has great views of the Pacific and is beautifully landscaped. The wildlife that surrounds the house includes monkeys, various birds, and squirrels. The proximity to all of the beaches was perfect. The local community and businesses made it feel like we were immersed instead of just visitors. The property manager was very professional and helpful. Our experience was better than expected!

Fun in the sun

Beautifful elevated view of ocean. Lots of birds and wild life. Jose our property manager was a gracious host. He respected our privacy yet enthusiastically answered any and all questions about the area, wildlife , food etc. We left with smiles on our faces. PURA VIDA

Love Casa Toucan

This was a fantastic opportunity to experience this unique place. Our caretaker José met us & made us very comfortable. He provided helpful information about the neighborhood. He is also is a chef who cooked a wonderful anniversary dinner for us. As an extra bonus we got to meet our host Tony. Tony is a great guy! We made fast friends with everyone that we met. Thanks so much for a fabulous visit to Costa Rica. We highly recommend this property Pura Vida!!!

Lovely villa with a beautiful view of the rain forest and the ocean

We are two couples and life long friends, and Casa Toucan was the perfect spot for for our vacation to Costa Rica. The views are incredible, and we saw monkeys, toucans, coatis and iguanas just sitting on our patio. Having our own pool to come back to for a nice relaxing swim at the end of a busy day was amazing. Communication with the owner and with Jose, the property manager, was excellent and Jose was very helpful with information about the area to help make our stay in Costa Rica even better. Our only recommendation would be the addition of a BBQ and air conditioning in the second bedroom, but we would definitely recommend Casa Toucan to future guests.

Breathtaking views

Our group of 4 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home . Waking up to the sounds of birds every morning was wonderful and we spotted several different varieties on the property during our stay as well as a few monkeys in the yard . The view is incredible and the drive up the hill wasn’t bad at all . Andrey the house manager was great, very knowledgeable and friendly and had wonderful recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. If you stay in ojochal don’t miss out on Exotica ( restaurant in town ) top 5 dining experiences ever, the food and staff were amazing ! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Andrey for your warmth and hospitality 🙏🏼

Incredible views and bird watching

We had an incredible time at Casa Toucan. We saw loads of toucans, hummingbirds, birds of prey, butterflies, lizards, geckos. The home is cozy and the AC was a welcome addition in the master bedroom. The pool was very warm. The property manager, Jose, is an absolute legend and was super quick and responsive throughout our entire stay. Communication with the owner was also very good prior to our arrival. It felt very private even with other homes around. The neighborhood was great and many restaurants available on the way in, with anything else you might need only a 20 minute drive away in uvita. Playa pineula was great for swimming and very empty compared to the slightly busier playa ventanas. Playa tortuga is not a swimming beach but was still great for seeing birds and other wildlife. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Heavenly views from the jungle to the sea!

From the moment we checked in at Casa Toucan, we were in heaven! The villa itself is charming (it was featured on HGTV's House Hunters International!) and offers everything that you might need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The King bed in the master was comfy and the kitchen stocked with all of the necessary items....but it is truly the exterior that takes your breath away! The view from the veranda is magnificent and ever changing depending on the time of day. You can experience wildlife up close (especially the lovely birds and toucans) and wake up to the sounds of Jungle Chickens! We spent an abundant amount of time just sitting at the table out there gazing at the water and taking in the jungle to the sea ambience. The Villa is at the top of a typical Costa Rican road that was an adventure in and of itself! On Sunday morning, the sounds of singing from the nearby Church is rousing and competes with the chirping of the birds. The pool is a delight and very private for both daytime sunbathing and nighttime stargazing. The villa is located close to phenomenal restaurants and we thoroughly enjoyed the Bamboo Room, Fusion, and Citrus as well as the homey sodas. Several grocery stores are close and a selection of fresh fruit is always available (what you can't just pick from right outside your front door at the Villa!). We opted for the Whale Watching Adventure (Dolphin Tours) and were thrilled to see so many Mama whales and their babies! We also went to the nearby wildlife sanctuary and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We did the zipline at the Osa Canopy and that was a heart pumping adventure! Also visited the nearby waterfalls and went to San Isidro for the huge Thursday Market! But....the absolute best thing about this amazing property is the host, James! He is a wealth of information and won't steer you wrong from local tours to restaurants to directions! His Irish brogue and hysterical stories will keep you in stiches and we feel like we have made a friend for life. Costa Rica is an amazing country and we thoroughly enjoyed the people, the food, the adventures and the true gift of serenity from our time there. We highly recommend Casa Toucan as your home away from home!

A jungle paradise

The property was exactly as portrayed in the listing and thoroughly charmed us with all of the birds and butterflies and wonderful jungle sounds at night. Having our own pool was wonderful and a welcome respite from the heat . The property manager, Andrey, was fantastic with lots of info about the area and arranging a mangrove tour for us. This property is phenomenal

Everything about this place was phenomenal. Communication with Aly, the owner, was prompt, thorough, & warm. The nearby caretakers, Andrey & Stephanie, answered every question, booked tours for us, and provided warm & genuine friendship- they brought us food over the holidays on 3 different occasions, & we cooked dinner with them & Aly near the end of our vacation & had a wonderful experience! When I had a dental emergency, Andrey immediately gave me the name of a reliable dentist. They have the most adorable dogs that we got to share & enjoy! Toucans, scarlet macaws, innumerable butterflies & insects, monkeys, gorgeous views, comfortable safe surroundings...I just can’t describe how idyllic this home is. We spent 5 weeks here, & every day was spectacular.

The most amazing vacation house we’ve stayed in yet

My husband, 2 boys and I stayed here for 5 days and it wasn’t long enough. I had been looking at this house for awhile when researching where to stay in Costa Rica. We wanted to experience Costa Rica’s most unspoiled natural beauty, an abundance of wildlife and a home that would give us an opportunity to disconnect from the everyday and connect with one another. I could not have picked a more perfect house and location to accommodate all of the elements we were looking for. We drove about 3 hours from San Jose and experienced the most picturesque drive. During our stay, we visited Manuel Antonio Beach, Cascada Pavon, drove in the back of a pick up truck to visit Nauyaca Falls, spent half a day at Dominical Beach along with spending a lot of time at the casa. The pool is amazing and the VIEW you wake up to along with all of the singing birds was beyond anything I’ve ever imagined. It rained every evening which was amazing and didn’t interfere with our plans, if anything, it added to the adventure. We ate at some many amazing sodas and restaurants. The people are extremely kind and helpful. Lastly, we really enjoyed meeting and conversing with Ali, who owns the property. She is extremely accommodating, responsive and a wealth of knowledge. She and Tony have done amazing updates to the house which leaves you needing absolutely nothing but comfort and beauty. I will always treasure my time here with my family and I can’t wait to stay here again! You won’t regret staying here!

We didn't want to leave!

We had such an incredible time at Tony and Ali's beautiful home. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, the pool was amazing, and the gardens were absolutely beautiful. The view from the terrace to the Pacific was stunning. We had to work for part of the vacation, which was absolutely fine with the beautiful wooden desk looking out over the trees to the Pacific below, and strong, reliable WiFi. The toucans were there to greet us, and we loved waking to the howler monkeys in the morning. Our son had a great time mountain biking on the dirt road (and hills!) into Ojochal. The location is perfect for taking advantage of the many beautiful beaches and waterfalls of Costa Ballena, one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. Tony took such good care of us, and we really enjoyed spending some time with him. I am sure we will be back and we will plan to be there to meet Ali too!!

Fantastic vacation home

My wife and I stayed at the home for ten days and we both agree that this was the best vacation we have had in the last 45 years of marriage. The house and landscaping were beautiful, much better than the pictures on the VRBO site. We were amazed with the numerous birds and other wildlife. Toucans, parrots and humming birds plus the occasional monkey are seen daily. The house's pool was nice and perfectly maintained. The view and the sound of the ocean were amazing. The house and pool are maintained daily by a wonderful Irish gentleman named James. He is a good source for information about the area. At the end of our 10-day visit, James had become a good friend. We are already planning another vacation to this house for later this year.

Paradise!

Beautiful house in an enchanting site. Ideal for bird lovers. We had the chance to observe beautiful toucans, parrots, morphos, hummingbirds, ... It has always been easy to communicate with the owner and on the premises we were welcomed by the very nice James. Nothing is missing for your comfort. There is no air conditioning, except for the master bedroom, and although we were visiting the hottest months of the year we did not use it. With the breeze cooling in the evening and the pool we were comfortable. I would not hesitate to return to Casa Toucan. I recommend visiting the Marino Balena Park 25 minutes from the house. Beautiful park for snorkeling.

Beautiful location overlooking the village and sea, although this also entailed an amount of noise from the village. The house is overlooked from the rear and has other neighbours nearby. Lovely garden with fruit trees, which attracted large numbers of birds and mammals. The house was clean and satisfactory, but the decor and amenities were in need of some attention. Good-sized pool, which was well-maintained. Wifi and water are shared between this property and the property above. This means the water pump, located outside the main bedroom, can start at any time. The wifi was unreliable and the hot water boiler needs to be adjusted for the low pressure, since we needed to turn on two taps to generate enough pressure for it to ignite. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Bird-lover's Paradise

Casa Toucan is aptly named - we saw toucans several times every day during our stay. We also enjoyed hummingbirds and numerous other birds. What a joy to wake before the sun crested the ridge, serenaded by the cacophony of sounds from the surrounding green space. The gentle breezes keep the property comfortable and the pool is a great way to cool off in the heat of the day. The casa is comfortable with all the supplies you need to cook up some amazing meals - everything except the food of course. But that's nothing a quick shop at the BM in Uvita can't solve. Ally, the owner is pleasant and helpful. James, the caretaker (and previous owner) is a wealth of knowledge about the casa, the surrounding flora and fauna, and the community. We greatly enjoyed our stay and made a new friend along the way.

Amazing place with a great view!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Toucan. We became friend with the host James, what a wonderful and funny guy! If you like nature and tranquility it is the right place for you. We saw toucans and all sorts of bugs. It is close enough to Uvita for grocery and there is multiple great sightseeing spots nearby. The house and the pool are just beautiful . It is a dream house with the best of both world, mountains and ocean view. There is multiple great restaurants close by. We Visited some amazing waterfalls Nauyaca, the highlight of our trip. I would recommended Casa Toucan to anyone looking for peace and beauty . Thanks !

If you want to experience real Costa Rica stay in casa Toucan . Wake up to the sounds of the jungle, watch the abundant wildlife , pick fresh bananas and mangoes for breakfast. Enjoy the views , the sunsets and float in the pool in the evenings looking up at the stars. Property is spacious, comfortable and well equipped . It is uniquely situated at the end of a mountain track in unspoilt Ojochal. The nearby beaches are all beautiful as is the surrounding countryside and we made many trips to the national parks which are within easy access. There is a supermarket and a good selection of restaurants within 10 minutes drive of the property, plus a tourist information office which has a small library. Local restaurants called Sodas are a cheaper alternative and can be found all along the main highway. We regretted not hiring a 4by4 as roads are steep and tend to be dirt tracks . An integral part of the properties charm is James Mcgeough who is a superb host with a wealth of local knowledge. Unobtrusive, but there when you need him . We enjoyed every moment of our Costa Rican adventure, it surpassed our expectations in every way. Thank you, James.

absolutely incredible-- we will be back!!

super comfortable house & beautiful pool. it had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. our wonderful host, james was really cool & accommodating. i can't say enough about the views--sunsets are amazing!! mountains and ocean. it's beautiful! a lot of wildlife & birdwatching (toucans, hawks, hummingbirds, so much more) until your heart's content. you will not want to leave casa toucan!
