The bathrooms were designed terribly. The dryer did not work (and was mentioned in previous reviews, so you would think they would either fix the appliance or remove it from the amenities) Poor responses from the host. The view and location were nice.

Great location

Great location close to everything in the middle of the city. The only thing that I would want to change is the 3 flights of stairs to get there.

Great location, lot's of space and a terrace

For the price of this apartment, I don't think you can complain about much. We spent 9 nights here, and the location within the city is fantastic. It has 3 bedrooms. The bedroom that leads to the terrace is very large and has a desk. If you're doing any work there, the Wi-Fi was great for the whole trip.Favorite things: The terrace is large and looks directly at the top of the Duomo. Very enjoyable for espresso in the mornings and wine at night. Large living/kitchen area for a rental. I wouldn't call the furniture comfortable, but we didn't spend a lot of time at the apartment. Air conditioners are in the 3 bedrooms and worked very well. Downsides: It's a lot of stairs to climb but we knew that going in. Not a big deal if you're only doing it once or twice a day. My 71-year-old mother-in-law managed it okay. The terrace is accessible through the large bedroom only. This was not an issue for us at all but something you may want to know. The bathrooms were our biggest complaint. They are pretty typical small Florence bathrooms. Plumbing seemed fine and toilets were just fine. The showers were very small and the water pressure was very bad (difficult to get shampoo out of hair). Overall, I loved being in such an old building and enjoying a huge outdoor space (something not easy to find). The location is great and we had a great stay.

Prime location

We loved staying in the heart of Florence- right near the Duomo. The flat was very authentic and roomy for 2 couples. We loved the outside space. The only challenge was the odd steps inside the flat either up or down one room to the next. We had to pay attention but once we were used to it, you kind of forgot the issue. The manager that checked us in was super helpful! I couldn’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was!

Almost perfect accommodation in the heart of Florence

Fantastic penthouse property literally a stones throw from the Duomo and fabulous restaurants and historically important architecture. 3 bedrooms, a big open plan kitchen / dining room and a small but perfectly formed balcony with a view of the Duomo top and synagogue off to the left. Great communication by the owner. 4/5 doesnt quite do it justice, but 5 would imply perfection. The minor blemishes? The two shower rooms are pretty cramped, and the showers, whilst perfectly adequate, lack water pressure to fully dowse you in water. And if youre not particularly fit, the 3 flights of steps to the top are a little tiring after a few goes as there are no lifts. But as a base for an.adventure around Florence this is damn close to perfect

Aloof unresponsive host

The hostess was simply uninterested in answering requests for three months prior to our arrival. Finally in the last week or so she told us she would be out of town and gave us the name of another person who would help out. This person agreed to meet us at the building at 11:30am so we could drop off our bags. But we stood outside a locked building door in the rain for 30 minutes before this person came down to let us in. Once in, the great room had a slight smell of mold, and we figured out on day 2 that the cleaning staff had inadvertently unplugged the refrigerator while putting the cleaning supplies against the plug.

Great Apartment!!

The apartment was spacious! And it couldn’t have been located in a better place. It’s centrally located which makes it easier if you want to explore. The concierge was great, very helpful and suggested some great restaurants local to the area. I would come back and stay!

Schöne große Wohnung im Herzen von Florenz

Schöne, große, historische Wohnung auf oberster Etage, in der wir uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt haben. Die Lage ist super um alle SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Gut sortierter kleiner Supermarkt gleich nebenan. Restaurants in unmittelbarer NĂ€he. Das erste Schlafzimmer geht zur Straße raus, das mittlere hat kein Fenster, das man öffnen kann, an das dritte schliesst die Terrasse an. Alle drei sind ausreichend groß und mit genĂŒgend SchrĂ€nken ausgestattet. Es gibt Klimaanlage und Heizung, so dass man gut temperieren konnte. Sehr gute feste Matrazen und zwei unterschiedlich feste Kissen zur Auswahl. Der Wohn-/Eßbereich ist prima fĂŒr vier Personen und ausreichend mit Geschirr und Zubehör ausgestattet. Die BĂ€der sind beide sehr klein, das eine fast schon winzig. Es gab ein Starterpaket mit Seifen, Shampoo, Toilettenpapier und SpĂŒlmittel. Die ruhige und ĂŒberdachte Terrasse war toll und ist mit Esstisch und Couch ausgestattet.

Relaxing stay in Florence

So much space and privacy and the outdoor space was so perfect to eat and read and it had a beautiful view of the area. The apartment was perfectly stocked with dishes and coffee maker and blankets. We also enjoyed the books and games.

Florence.....so much to see from this ideal spot Vrbo rental

Property on the top floor with no lift so be prepared to walk up a few steps. Apartment was a decent size with 3 good bedrooms....although you can hear every word between 2 of the bedrooms....paper thin walls. The 3rd bedroom was off set from the main living room and kitchen but did have access to outdoor balcony space....which was nice. The apartment was "trendy" in design but we didn't use the kitchen as out most of the time. Only negative.....2 bathrooms but 1 bathroom was super tiny and difficult to use the toilet due to space. Great location and we received good recommendations for local restaurants.

Our stay was great! The location was an incredible spot. Right in the heart of the duomo, and walking distances to many museums, restaurants and city sites! The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed and had plenty of space for us. Be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs, but it was a great way to get a small workout in ;). Highly recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back!

Pluses and minuses

Communication was not all through VRBO. It made the process harder because we were sent multiple different WhatsApp phone numbers and made to communicate with different individuals via WhatsApp versus email versus VRBO.Upon arrival one of our party members got locked in a bathroom because there was no handle installed (it was later found in a drawer), the one shower was noted to have mold above it and be leaking, and the curtain in the master bedroom broke when the individual who was checking us in was showing us how to raise and lower the curtain. This was unfortunately not repaired during our stay and the sunrise, while beautiful, comes directly in that window.Additionally, the dryer did not work and there was a very heavy perfume smell that was difficult for some of our party. The stairs are as noted. The view is lovely and does put you in a very easy / accessible location.

Great location, beware extra charges

The stay itself was great!! The location of the apartment is great. Restaurants and shops are just outside the door. The layout of the apartment was great for our family. We were traveling with my son and his wife and 2 kids, ages 7 and 10. Now for the not so good. When we arrived we found that we were at the wrong address. The street has 2 addresses with the same number, at opposite ends of the street. It was an issue for us because it was raining when we arrived and we stood out in the rain until we were finally met by Alessandra and escorted to the apartment. She showed us the apartment and then advised us that we owed a 100 euro fee and a tax of 99 Euros. I found the 100 fee in the description of the property. It was hidden in the fine print. The tax was not disclosed. I paid the fees and then I checked and found that there was no tax on the kids. We were pretty sure that there was no tax on the kids since we had just stayed in Rome and paid the tax there. Alessandra took the money anyway and left. She told me that the owner would be calling me to discuss this. I paid it just to avoid any problems. I am still waiting on the call. One of the bathrooms was very small. The shower is smaller than any shower I have ever seen and I have been on more than a few cruises. The washer/dryer does not dry. Not at all! The toilet was almost under the sink. Hard for an adult to use.

The property and location were great. We enjoyed Florence immensely and the location was close to restauarants, stores, and supermarkets. We could even walk from the train station (20 minute walk). I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Spacious and quaint apartment in great location!

Great location, lots of room and very comfortable beds! Everything was under 20 min walk. The patio was amazing and we made the most of it even with the colder weather. Had everything we needed! One downside was low water pressure in one bathroom and very tight space around the toilet in the other. But well worth it for the overall amazing space!

Expectations

After pouring over property reviews, I was expecting top notch. The location and layout were great. We had issues with checking in: untimely, hard to get responses, waited 2 hours, property manager didnt meet us & had cleaning staff try to explain property amid language issues. I appreciated the apology from homeowner who was helpful & tried to make things right. The 4th floor walkup was 76 steps which should be noted. The bathrooms were very narrow and short. If we were larger sized, one would be almost unusable. The dryer didnt work well- took multiple hours to dry very small load and had to hang clothes anyway. There was no communication about checkout expectations.

Florence stay

Location, location, location! We could not beat the location as it was just blocks away from the Duomo! However, there are several flights of stairs and no elevator so I would think twice if you have big luggage or have any difficulty with stair climbing. By the second day, we didn't even notice the stairs. Another issue was the mosquitoes. My husband got over 15 bites in one night- we stopped counting after 15. They were aggressive. We only had the door open twice to the balcony but we also didn't know this would be an issue. We tried burning citronella on the balcony but it didn't help. Maybe it is only a seasonal issue (we were there in Oct), but if you are prone to getting bitten, they will find you! As for the accommodations, they were good but had few issues. We didn't cook at all but we definitely used the coffee maker and refrigerator:) The primary bedroom had a great bed. The middle bedroom needs a new mattress as you can feel the springs. The third bedroom by the door was fine. The bathrooms were tight - to be expected in an apartment this old. However, we are a tall family (all 6 feet and taller) and we could barely fit in one of the showers so we had to all use the bathroom closer to the primary.bedroom.

House was great location great walking distance for site seeing & shopping. When we booked this in our search w had specific search criteria as being handicap accessible which was one reason for choosing, unfortunately this location is not that be sure you are able to walk up & carry up luggage 78 steps to enter the apartment. This was a bit of a challenge for one of our guests but we made it work. The place was beautiful & host was very nice & responsive.

What a beauty!

What a fantastic apartment! Such a cool old building with modern amenities. Close to wonderful Florence attractions & restaurants. The only down side is no elevator but we got our steps in to help burn off all the gelato😂 The property manager met us at check in & hand is some great recommendations for places to eat!

Perfect location, beautiful apartment

Our family had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Florence. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms provided ample space for us to spread out, and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with views of the city and Duomo. The convenient location near shops, groceries, pharmacies, and restaurants made it easy for us to access everything we wanted to see. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed.
