Great location, quiet and peaceful, lots of trees. The back of the house faces north so the sun was never in our eyes while sitting out back and enjoying the weather. We even found 2 petoskey stones on the lakeshore. It was a wonderful place to stay for our first visit to Michigan.

Great space for our family gathering with 9 people. Teens and young adults loved the variety of outdoor games. The decor, color scheme, and furnishings were cohesive and calming. Beds were cozy. The new addition of the sauna was fantastic. The outdoor deck area and sandy beach were beautiful.

Lakefront Family Fun!

My family from Arizona had a great time at the lakefront house on Big Platte Lake! The view and sunsets were incredible. The house was neat with everything needed (except laundry) and beds are super comfortable. The extra kids games (including a kids Pac-Man machine) use of a pontoon boat, water sporting toys like kayaks, wakeboards life jackets were all appreciated for the ultimate family escape "up north" Michigan! The shallow water and sandy beachfront are great for the kids as well!! Also, close proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort Beach, The Cherry Pit and even Traverse City make this a perfect location to experience Pure Michigan! We'll be back next summer for more fun!!

Family Michigan trip

It was a great spot for our family trip - 4 adults and 4 kids. Kids absolutely LOVED the bunk room and the surprise of a Pac-Man game! Great spot right on the lake - the weather didn’t cooperate with us for swimming but nightly bonfires were a hit! Comfortable and clean. My fault for not realizing the listing stated only dryer and not washer and dryer but there is a nice laundromat not far. Great location for getting to sleeping bear dunes, we also kayaked down the platte river with riverside kayaks.

Lake time in Northern Michigan

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cottage. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. We also rented the pontoon which was a great way to go across the lake and visit my cousins on the north side of the lake! Communication with the owners was prompt and easy. We would not hesitate to rent here again.

Perfect Weekend Stay

Stayed at the lake house for two nights while attending an event at nearby Frankfort. The house was perfect for our needs with 5 adults and two kids splitting 4 bedrooms. A nice sandy beach with a shallow lakefront was enormous fun for the kids and the back porch was great for the adults to relax and observe. No issues being comfortable in mid September with temps in the 80s. Homeowners were fantastically responsive by text for minor logistics questions. Highly recommend for a quiet house by the lake.

Beautiful Cottage

This house did not disappoint. The view of the lake is perfect for both your morning cup of coffee, as well as your evening glass of wine. We rented the pantoon boat, and were able to tour the lake on it, as well as the kid kayaks, the adult kayaks, and the SUPs! They had ball and toys in the garage that kept our kids busy. Note that there is no washing machine or beach towels on site, but as long as you come prepared, this is not an issue. The beds were comfortable, and this was a great place to spend time with grandparents and kids for the week we stayed.

Lovely summer getaway

Amazing location for a summer stay, feet from a sandy beach on a beautiful lake. Great location with nearby activities and attractions. All the yard games and water toys you could want. Super easy check in and hosts were always reachable if needed. Would definitely return!

July at Platte Lake

This lovely cottage is even better than its pictures. Plenty of space to hang out inside with rainy day entertainment options. The outdoor space is perfect for coffee on the deck in the morning and dinners in the evening. There's enough room for yard games and for little ones running and chasing. Great beach, great swimming area. We'll be coming back next year!

Such an adorable house and the perfect hosts! Communication was top notch! The house is decorated so cute, beds are comfortable, excellent location on the lake and huge deck to sit on and enjoy the lake. Extremely clean and plenty of supplies. Would highly recommend!

Perfectly Charming

Such a wonderful property!!! The home is comfortable and has even we needed for our long weekend. The location is convenient for day trips to other cities/attractions. But the backyard was the high point of our trip. The view, fire pit, beach, dock, lake access

Family Trip

These property had a great set up. It was clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable. The yard and patio were nice for games, lounging and bonfires. There was even a sand beach very well kept. Great for family trips. Communicating with property managers was easy.

Great Michigan vacation

The cottage was laid out perfectly for my family. The lake location is beautiful. The owners were very easy to communicate with. Couldn’t ask for more. We’ll be coming back.

The owners were very easy to communicate with leading up to and during the stay. The cottage was clean and fit our group of 6 adults (friends) nicely.

We had a great time

We had never been to Michigan before and we had a great time. The house/cottage is right on the lake. It was nice when we walked in, the main floor is cute. The upstairs had an air conditioner that was vented out the window so the window was not perfectly sealed which caused bugs to come in. This was right where the heads to the beds were. My kids would not sleep in there. I really liked the decor. The toys for the water was very nice and we all enjoyed. The grill needs updated. Needs outdoor garage lights , many not working or bulbs not in. We did have a good time. All negative things can be easily fixed. Thanks

A bit pricey for the accommodations but good stay

Communication was excellent. We had rented the boat but there was a gas leak so we couldn't take it out. They were super quick to get back to us and give us a refund and we appreciated that. The lake toys were great, even little kayaks for the small children. Quiet, peaceful lake. Nice quiet street and good location tucked between Frankfort and Glen Arbor. We all felt like cottage could have been a little cleaner...not terrible, but needs a little refresh.When we got there, there was sand all over the back deck and gnats stuck to picnic table ...we found a broom and swept off the deck (wished we had a power washer for the table). Also, I know that duck/geese are part of inland lake life but there's no deterrent (that I could see to keep them away, so way too much poop to try to get around- and one our group got swimmers itch) I noticed the neighbors had some sort of mirror-type thing near their beach and they didn't seem to have nearly as many "visitors" as we did. It definitely felt like bare minimum in comparison to other places we've stayed. Overall, our family enjoyed ourselves but just think the price (even being on a lake) was steep for the set-up here.

We spent our fall and winter of 2016 renovating this charming cottage ourselves. We had so much fun and made great family memories along the way. It was a year they will never forget!
