Week in the cotswolds

Great cottage, really well equipped, every need catered for. Stayed here because of the close proximity to the farmers dog, but the white hart further up the road was really good, very friendly staff and great food.

The house is really nice decorated with lots of space for a family. Everything was really clean. Beds and beds clothes ultra confortable. Nice neighbours and walking distance to 2 nice pubs and supermarket. We loved our stay.

Beautiful property - very comfortable

We had a lovely stay in this property. It is beautifully decorated and modern throughout while still retaining the character of the cottage and it is equipped with everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have an outdoor seating area to enjoy the surprisingly good weather we had while we were there. Plenty of towels were provided and there was a lovely welcome note from the hosts who were readily available if any assistance was required. We spent two weeks here but we wish we could have stayed longer!

Japonica was a lovely property perfect for us as a family unit needing a base for a wedding we were attending. Great location, very clean with great beds and bedding. Very lovely accommodating hosts. Great stay

Cannot praise this bungalow highly enough. Everything you need is supplied. It was well laid out and very comfortable. The log burner was an excellent addition when the evening got chilly. Excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds and a visit to the Farmers Dog..!!

Japonica - little gem in the Cotswolds

Stayed in Japonica, a lovely 3 bedroomed cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds with my family for the last week of July 26 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage was beautiful, three bedrooms (one ensuite), well presented kitchen, relaxing living room, good sized dining room, washing machine/tumble dryer and plenty of off the road parking. Central to so many interesting places to visit, most around 20 or so minutes away. The cottage comfortably accommodated 6 of us, would definitely go back again.

A great property

Japonica is very well equipped and perfect accommodation for a holiday. We went in winter so didn’t use outside but inside was super cosy and great for family socialising as the kitchen and lounge area are together. It is on quite a main road and not scenic from the house but only a short walk into the very picturesque village Would recommend this property

Beautiful Cottage

We stayed at Japonica with another couple, the cottage is furnished and equipped really nicely which made it feel very homely, there was pleanty of logs available to use the log burner. The weather was nice so we used the outdoor furniture. I think an outside firepit would be a nice addition for summer. I definitely recommend and sure we will be back sometime!!

A beautiful and superbly appointed cottage retreat providing a real home from home

My stay at Japonica was a treat - super clean, everything felt new and the interior was as if someone had lent you their home rather than that feeling of staying in a rental. All the furnishings and fittings were of a very high quality, and the layout meant it was easy to find your own space and relax, or work, or enjoy making a meal in the fully appointed kitchen. My stay was during a very wet winter period, but when the sun comes out it would be a wonderful place to enjoy not going anywhere but staying in the secluded courtyard garden. I hope I have the opportunity to return!

Lovely cottage

So well equipped and comfortable, a lovely home from home and had everything we needed in it for an enjoyable stay. Within walking distance of a pub that serves great food. Also near Burford and lots of lovely Cotswold villages. Some great walks from the cottage too. Only minor point is it’s on a B road which is quite busy and garden not enclosed so may be worth mentioning in the listing? Not a problem for us as I have teenagers, however I would have been worried with young children.

A gorgeous property, beautifully set up.

Japonica is a beautifully set up cottage. Scrupulously clean and well decorated, it has everything a group needs for a comfortable and high quality stay. In terms of helping other would be guests decide if Japonica is for them, it might be important for some guests to know that the cottage is situated on the main Burford Road, albeit well set back. This was in no way an issue for us, but those who are bothered by noise might want to know thay there is no problem with traffic noise in any of the bedrooms but it can be heard if windows are open from the sitting room.
