Located in the Cumbrian village of Barbon, close to Kirkby Lonsdale, this stylish countryside cottage offers the perfect base for families and groups of friends exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Barbon boasts a country pub, as well as a fabulous cycling route ideal for keen outdoor explorers. As the place where Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire meet, the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale (4 miles) offers a maze of cobbled streets lined with delis, boutiques and cafes to explore. The gateway to the Lake District, the vibrant market town of Kendal can be reached within 15.5 miles. Those who love life on the water can enjoy a peaceful cruise along the tranquil waters of Lake Windermere aboard a traditional steamer from Bowness-on-Windermere (25 miles).
Behind the cottage’s traditional brick exterior, you’ll discover a cosy, contemporary haven in the inviting lounge that opens out from the entrance hallway. With lovely verdant views, a roaring wood burner and calming earthy tones, this peaceful space invites tired travellers to sit back and relax after a day exploring the local trails. Adjoining the lounge, you’ll find the heart of this home-away-from-home in the spacious kitchen/diner that’s flooded with natural light from the picture windows and French doors. Traditional features such as flagstone-style flooring and contemporary farmhouse decor add a touch of true elegance; on a fine evening, open the French doors to the garden to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. At the rear of the kitchen, there's a handy utility room. Each of the three tranquil bedrooms upstairs share the same peaceful atmosphere as the rest of this rural retreat. Choose from a master super-king-size room with an en-suite shower room, plus a king-size bedroom and a cosy twin. Completing the interior are two well-appointed bathrooms.
Outside, make the most of your peaceful surroundings by enjoying morning coffee or a glass of something sparkling from the comfort of the furnished patio that features a BBQ and fire pit.
