Absolutely beautiful quiet and tranquil place to stay. i was there due to work, so could unwind in the hottub in private. Would definitely recommend this property. Charles was an excellent host.

Hot tub was a lovely temperature, and luckily we had 2 decent clear evenings to star gaze from hot tub. Rooms nice and clean, starlink wifi was great.

A Gorgeous, Quiet and Cosy Rural Retreat

What a beautifully decorated little hideaway! I needed a few quiet days to recharge after a hectic August and this couldn’t have been more perfect! The bedroom was sumptuous, the bathroom was modern and the living area was cosy. The kitchen also had all the necessities and even some fresh eggs from the farm which was a delightful surprise. The surroundings were peaceful and idyllic and the evenings soaking in the hot tub were bliss. I won’t hesitate to rebook and recommend to friends and family! The guest information included suggestions for some fantastic local eateries and attractions. I can’t recommend Hidden River Cafe enough, the food was delicious and the setting was beautiful.

Excellent, tranquil spot for a few days R&R

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Drake’s Rest. The property is well-equipped and delightfully furnished and decorated. We met the on-site host a couple of times, who was very helpful and friendly without being “omni-present” at all. The situation, in the Borderlands area, is idyllic. Close to the Lakes and Hadrian’s Wall country, but delightfully quiet. Ideal for running, walking, cycling - or just enjoy the rural environment. Would definitely return..!
