Family Vacation

Excellent property and nicely designed floor plan with tasteful interior decoration. Recommend renting directly from 5 Star Properties for a more personal experience and service.

Beautiful

We had a great family vacation, kids were a little disappointed about the red flags but had the pool to back it up also enjoyed bike rides. Definitely would do this again. Coffee shop across the road was a plus also. The house was amazing.

Destin

The home has a great layout, stocked with good appliances and cooking accessories. Unfortunately, the home owners, allows pets, but have rugs under furniture, and the rugs reap of pet urine, we had to roll up the rugs and put in spare bedroom (disgusting), and we hoped this would take care of the terrible smell of urine, unfortunately the urine had settled into the hardwood floors and by moving the rugs, the smell was worse due to the rugs disguising the odor from underneath. We had to leave doors open at night, horrible experience. We were charged a hefty pet charge, and for what?? Such a disgusting experience. I have many photos that I shared with property rental company. I was not pleased with the response. I did not want any money back, I just wanted them to correct the problem for future guests, not a good response from them. Think twice before staying at this home.

We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with your stay; however, the home was professionally cleaned and inspected before your arrival, and no odor issues have ever been reported prior to or after your visit. This property is meticulously maintained by the homeowners and our staff. While we welcome pets, our policy requires accurate disclosure of the number and breed. In this case, four dogs were brought without prior notice. Despite this violation of the rental agreement, we allowed you to stay and applied an additional pet fee to cover the extra cleaning required. We take great pride in maintaining this property and it is disappointing to see a review that intentionally misrepresents its condition. We appreciate feedback and remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable experience for all guests.

Slice of Heaven

One of our favorite homes so far! Had the absolute best spot on the beach - kept us from having other people on top of us. The home was very clean and well-kept. Loved the layout and the yard for the dog. Pool was on the small side, but the kids still enjoyed it when they were tired of the ocean. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Location

The house is beautiful and right on the beach. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and tableware. The house was super clean. The deck area is so nice with what looked like new decking; the rails were new. The pool is small, but very nice. There is a fee to have it heated, but it was worth it for an April stay. I recommend that you bring additional washcloths, as the towel bundles provided only have one. I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous beach house

This house is in excellent condition and was really clean when we checked in. Centrally located by a coffee shop, restuarant, and gift shop, and the beach of course :). We had 8 people staying at one time and could have easily fit more. All bedrooms are a good size and several have individual patios overlooking the beach. This house is just mind blowing! Definnately book it!

Family Holiday 2019

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at Casa Madalena. The home is beautiful, comfortably furnished with large couches and cozy areas to relax and visit. Since our family enjoys cooking we were happy to see that the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and appliances we needed. It was sparkling clean when we arrived and communication with the property management company was excellent. The bedrooms and beds were comfortable, and everyone enjoyed having their own bathroom. The views from the home are lovely. We also loved the large deck and easy access to the beach. All in all, a perfect place for a family vacation with our three adult children. We would highly recommend it.

Lovely property. It is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway!

The property was just as the pictures described. In fact, it was better than the pictures showed. Lots of space for guests to mingle and also get away for a bit. The views from the rear glass doors were gorgeous and the decks were the perfect place to enjoy them. We certainly enjoyed our stay at Casa Madalena and would love to return for another visit!

beautiful place to stay

We were a group of 4 couples and the house was perfect for us. It was pretty well stocked with everything we could have needed. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathrooms well stocked and when we had no trash bags they had someone deliver some to us in under 15 minutes. We did have some issues with entry code but not sure if it was mechanical issues or user incompetence(the men always had to unlock the doors)! No matter, when they couldn't help us over the phone, someone was at the house in under 10 minutes. The only con would be that the interior could use a good paint job. Will stay here again.

Beautiful house with great location and access to beach

Well thought out floor plan with a nice carriage house. Bathroom off exterior of house is surprisingly useful coming in from the beach. The road noise is a little loud but most of that was due to the spring break season.
