À propos de cet hébergement
1 Bed in Abergavenny (oc-75206)
A beautiful, detached lodge set on the edge of Gilwern, a sweet village, with pubs, shops and a picturesque canal all within walking distance, great for cyclists and walkers alike. An abundance of other activities to try, include fishing on Monmouthshire and Brecon canal or at Llandegfedd or Talybont reservoirs, canoeing and kayaking on the Usk and Wye rivers. Other attractions in the area include Blaenavon Iron Works, The Big Pit or stargazing at the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre or perhaps try horse riding or golf. Visit the historic towns of Crickhowell and Abergavenny which are full of shops, pubs and eateries, with galleries, museums, castles and vineyard nearby too or walk along the canal and stop at one of the pubs for a bite to eat.
Enter this fabulous lodge, up a few wooden steps, through bi-folding doors into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This inviting space has a comfortable sofa which also doubles as a sofa bed, with a rather ingenious table for eating or working on with your laptop, a super wood burner with a basket of logs and Smart TV/DVD, and is all laid-out to take in the magnificent mountain views. The kitchen area has everything that you’ll need for a wonderful couple’s break, including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge with ice compartment and a dishwasher. There is a table and two chairs that can be used inside or out, if you fancy some al fresco dining. There is also a contemporary bathroom which has a bath with overhead shower and WC. Plant-based hand soap and cleaning products from brands such as Faith in Nature, Ecoleaf, Bio D and Sesi which are friendly to the bio-digestive system on site. Along the internal hallway you will find the bedroom, which has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request). Underfloor heating throughout and with lots of thought and attention to detail throughout, making this the perfect romantic retreat any time of the year.
Outside there is an enclosed balcony, where you can fully open the bi-folding doors, bringing the outside in. What could be nicer than taking in the views and enjoying dinner as you plan the next day of activities, with BBQ available for al fresco dining. There is a further lawn below, with table and chairs, all set beneath the beautiful trees lining the garden. Although this property is located in the owner's grounds, due to the clever tree positioning, your privacy is assured. Adjoining the lodge is a secure utility and storage room with a washing/dryer, airer and radiator for drying out muddy clothes and boots, there are also bike racks in here as well as two bikes that can be loaned form the owner for a very modest £5 fee which the owner donates to charity. There is off-road parking for one car and an untethered Type 2 EV charger available (pay at property).
