A Great Getaway

We were very happy with our stay. Our goal was to rest and relax and this spot was quiet, on the water with access to a private beach and comfortable.

There were fantastic views of the ocean from the living areas of the unit. The place was clean and tidy. The host was hospitable. We could come and go at our leisure. The little community was quiet and friendly. Near many local attractions. We would highly recommend staying at Chance Harbour again. When we travel back to the area in future. We really enjoyed our time there.

Fabulous view and location

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, central to everything and the beach was beautiful for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine, as well as the sunset. View from the cottage is spectacular

Very friendly hosts. Nicely equipped accommodation with views towards PEI, Pictou Island and Cape Breton Island. Enjoyed watching eagles and seals. The beach was wonderful!

What a Wonderful place to stay.

My husband and I really enjoyed are time here. The views from the living room are spectacular sunrise and sunset over the Northumberland Strait were just beautiful. We enjoyed the private beach with the mild water temp. Our host and family were just so sweet and friendly. Would love to find ourselves up there again sometime.

Out of the way Getaway

Beautiful ocean view, short walk to beach; we sat and watched the tide for hours - it was beautiful and peaceful! Loved the big bathrooms and tub with jets was wonderful! Nice private apartment - perfect if you enjoy being away from the touristy hustle.

Our stay at Chance Harbour

Art our host was very kind and hospitable. The apartment had a wonderful view and the sunrises and sunsets are amazing. The apartment is a bit dated but comfortable. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. The bedroom has air conditioning but we only used once as the ocean breezes are cooling. It is very quiet too and you only hear the lobster boats in the morning. Thank you Art.

Stunning ocean views & welcoming host

This has been our favorite VRBO so far. ( out of about 20 rentals) Something about the sights and sounds of the surf, watching sea gulls and eagles fly around you. Beaches within walking distance, many provincial parks close by, we felt totally spoiled. The host Art was attentive and gave the best tour of the property making sure we had everything we needed.

Chance Harbor Nova Scotia Cottage

Beautiful upper floor suite - high above the water with a spectacular view of the harbor, Pictou island, sandy beach and more. It's private and quiet. Friends who came to visit us, expressed their impression of the place, with a "Wow" when they saw the view and neat accommodations.

Beautiful oceanside retreat

Fantastic location with full panoramic view overlooking the Northumberland Strait. Excellent private beach just steps away, another nice (public) beach a short walk away. Beautiful and quiet. When we stayed there were deer nearby and a bald eagle visiting right on the edge of the property. Art was a great host - not intrusive but always cheerful and available.

Great place!

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The hosts were great for answering questions and offering information for area attractions and restaurants . Beautiful private beach. Gorgeous view! Unit was well equipped. Our only complaint is that there was no air conditioning and it was very hot our first two nights.

Our 2nd Lovely Stay

We can't get enough of the view of the harbour. Its the perfect spot tucked in between 2 beaches within walking distance. This is a 2nd floor apartment so there are stairs but its worth it for the view. The kitchen had everything needed for preparing easy meals. Art is an attentive host checking with us that we had everything needed for our stay We will be back.

BEST PLACE WITH BEST VIEW

THIS APARTMENT WAS MORE THEN WE HOPED FOR. FROM THE WARM WELCOME BY ART WHEN WE ARRIVED TO THE SPECTACULAR VIEW, LOVELY BEACHES, SPECTACULAR STAR GAZING, AND COMFORTABLE BED..... WE WERE SO HAPPY WITH THIS STAY. IT TRULY WAS A PERFECT STAY FOR US AND WE WOULD COME BACK FOR SURE. THANK YOU ART!!!

First Time in Nova Scotia

Drove up here after a flight into Halifax. Entry was perfect. When we met Art the next day, he was as congenial and responsive as a host can be. He asked if anything was needed, and we mentioned the coffee pot was in bad shape and we needed another coffee mug. Later that day, a new coffee maker and mugs were at the doorstep! J&C

Pros: - views - location - 2 beaches within 5 min walk (opposite directions) - stairs down to private platform on a cliff over the ocean - very comfy bed - plenty of room for two people - owners very willing to help us out when minor issues arose - very quiet Cons - 2nd floor of a home, so not completely private - New rental, so still working out kinks - Not a lot of comfy seating for rainy days - Gets hot, so needs a fan - Dining room seating for three only - Shared barbecue - No dishwasher All in all a great place in a beautiful setting. Just needs a few tweaks to be perfect.

2nd floor of a home, so not completely private: The apt. has a separate outside entrance with a locked door at the the bottom of the stairs (direct to the outside) and a locked door at the top of the stairs (entrance to the unit) both doors locks use the same key. No one else can enter this unit. It is completely secure and the 2nd floor offers panaramic view of the Northumberland Strait. It is very quiet except for the birds in the morning. The rabbits, and the deer are quiet New rental still working out the kinks: We will always be working out the kinks, that is the nature of the business. We have a book where we ask our guests to leave a comment, it is very helpful, Mr. Lanigan's comments did not reflect these concerns Not a lot of comfy seating for raining days: We have a rocking chair, a lazy boy type chair and a chesterfield, We thought this was ok when using the internet and watching the sat tv Gets hot, so needs a fan We have a cool breeze from the Northumberland Strait and we supply a fan to help Dinning room seating for three:only We have since put in a new larger table with four chairs Shared barbecue: correct No dishwasher: correct

This property is appraised at $900,000 and was rebuilt by myself over the years. It has two separate entrances, one of which is to this unit.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Located across the Northumberland Strait from PEI, in fact we are only a 20 min drive to the PEI ferry. We are 15 min drive to two 18 hole golf courses. On a clear night you can see among the stars the flights going to Europe but you can't hear them, matter of fact you can't hear anything at night except maybe the loons on a nearby lake or the frogs.
