Built in 1867, this breathtaking little rock church in Lattnerville Iowa looks almost identical on the outside as it did over 150 years ago. Originally dedicated in honor of the Blessed Virgin as St Mary's Catholic Church, parishoners worshipped for 22 years throughout prosperous times, hardships, extensive remodeling, fires and closures. The last scheduled Mass for what eventually became the Annunciation Church was held in 1989 with only special occasion services held until 2012 when the sacred vessels were transported to St. John the Baptist Church in Peosta, Iowa. In 2013 the church was sold at auction and underwent a massive restoration eventually transpiring to the Lattnerville Church Inn.
