Owner’s Response: We strive to provide a clean, well-maintained, and accurately represented home for all guests. While we appreciate feedback, we would like to clarify several inaccuracies in this review. Clear Accessibility & Location: The home is fully accessible from the front, and the museum is completely separate from the rental space. The listing provides accurate information, and detailed check-in instructions were sent before arrival. The signage mentioned is for public guidance regarding the Lee and Gordon’s Grist Mill, Wallace Building for events, and All Wars Museum, which are on the 5-acre grounds but are not part of the private rental space. Parking is available and unrestricted for guests staying at the home. Cleanliness & Pet-Free Policy: The property is thoroughly cleaned before each stay. We personally inspected the home immediately after this guest’s departure because of the nature of her complaint and found no evidence of pets inside the property. The "paw prints" referenced were minor smudges on an exterior window, and there was no pet hair, dander, or odor inside the home. Condition of the Home & Safety: The home is well-maintained, not worn, outdated, or run down. The interior was completely remodeled five years ago, and the exterior is in great shape, clean, and well-maintained. All fixtures were in working order at the time of check-in. The only issue noted after the guest’s departure was a loose set screw on a shower handle, which did not affect functionality. Had we been contacted during the stay, our maintenance team would have promptly resolved it. Guest Communication & Resolution: Unfortunately, no concerns were reported until after the guest left, making it impossible for us to address any issues in real time. We always encourage guests to reach out immediately so we can resolve concerns as quickly as possible. Despite this, we offered a courtesy refund, even though our cancellation and refund policies do not typically cover such situations. We take guest satisfaction and honesty seriously and work hard to provide an excellent experience. Our property is accurately described, clean, safe, and well-maintained, as confirmed by numerous positive guest reviews. We regret that this guest chose not to communicate with us during their stay and instead made claims after departure without allowing us the opportunity to assist. We remain committed to ensuring all future guests have a positive experience and encourage open communication for any needs during their stay.
