Cette île de 4,8 acres est située à seulement trois heures au nord-ouest de Minneapolis dans une partie très intéressante du Minnesota. Bien qu'il y ait des zones herbeuses ouvertes autour des trois cabanes en rondins authentiques, les bords les plus anciens de l'île ont été assis dans des fleurs sauvages et l'effet est magique. Laissez vos enfants et vos chiens errer librement sans vous soucier de rencontrer d'autres personnes.

À l'intérieur de la cabine principale, vous trouverez des dizaines d'antiquités et de souvenirs de chemin de fer pour divertir les enfants de tous âges! Les cabanes en rondins authentiques ont été conçues par des familles amish au début des années 2000 et sont magnifiques. Les cabines sont climatisées et disposent d'une connexion Wi-Fi et sont très confortables. L'île possède également un sauna en rondins de cèdre taillé à la main qui est un sauna électrique pratique à quelques mètres d'où vous pouvez sauter dans le lac et nager jusqu'à notre quai flottant. Le joyau de l'île est la maison de thé située au centre de l'île. Il s'agit d'un chef-d'œuvre unique en son genre de conception et d'artisanat et d'une zone filtrée au cas où les moustiques seraient en vigueur (généralement, les moustiques sont chassés de l'île dans une brise).

Il y a plusieurs jeux de jardin fournis et nous vous garantissons que vous passerez un merveilleux moment dans ce paradis unique.

Private Island location

Very nice private location to host a family gathering. Beautiful views from almost any place on the island. I would love to book again and maybe stay a couple days longer this time.

Perfect Retreat

This island is perfect for families. Great swimming. Great fishing. Great cabins. Great sauna. Great everything. And an amazing tea house where many fun hours were spent. Lovely get away.

This was a really cool property! Great environment to hang out with our family. We were there in October so swimming was limited but we'd love to come back in the summer to experience that a bit more. Having the whole Island to ourselves was very fun and unique--the kids loved it. Kris was great to communicate with. Only issue was with a couple of the pontoons but Kris seems on top of ensuring this is being managed and worked with us on a refund. Great stay overall.

Family vacation

This was a great property for a family vacation. Large enough to accommodate all 12 of us comfortably. The cabins are comfortable and very user friendly. Host was great and very accommodating. The tea room was a favorite gathering spot.

Peaceful Getaway

We enjoyed our secluded peaceful birthday weekend getaway during the pandemic. It was prefect! Our dog, Jolie, had the time of her life running around the island! We enjoyed trips around the quiet lake in the pontoon & bonfires at night watching the stars.

Amazing Family Spot

We all loved the Great Northern Island! It is the perfect place for a large group to get together. Plenty of room for games together or quiet alone time. The property is beautiful and the cabins are lovely. The tea room was a perfect gathering spot for all 11 of us when the rain came in. The owner is very responsive and great to work with!

Great extended family getaway

We had three generations of family stay on the island for a long summer weekend. There was lots of space to spread out for games, reading, napping, and kids and dogs running around the yard. We hung hammocks in the trees, had fires at night, gathered for meals in the guest cabin, and played games in the tea house. The water in Long Lake was so clean so we really enjoyed a lot of swimming and fishing. Beautiful property!

Relaxing Getaway

My family and I spent most of our time on the lake fishing but still enjoyed some time on the island. Most everything was good, no big complaints. Our biggest struggles were that the instructions were a bit scattered and outdated. We had a little trouble figuring out how to get heat in our cabin until we realized the breaker was off. Overall though, a great vacation!

Much needed bliss

Our family and another family that we have vacationed with for several years decided that during this COVID19 epidemic, we needed to get away for a few days and just unplug and get away from the media and our computers while still staying safe and not going anywhere we would be around large groups of people. This island was perfect for that. We could spread out and enjoy the space as each of us saw fit. We enjoyed some fishing off the docks and on the pontoon. And at night we enjoyed bon fires and playing games in the tea room. It's an amazing space. Our dog absolutely was in heaven too. She got to run leash free for 3 days. We would definitely rent this space again for our families.

Island Paradise

Total Relaxation

Perfect Spot

Beautiful setting. The cabins and "outbuildings" were in excellent condition. Loved watching the family fish on the pontoon from the wildflower bench. Swimming area was nice. Great to have the swimming dock. The family spent a bunch of time in the tea house - playing games, putting puzzles together, and relaxing. Great fishing.

Perfect for Big Families

This "island getaway" was everything we hoped. It was perfect for our big family to relax and enjoy nature. It was wonderful to have so much space to spread out and so many different activities for all age levels - boating, games in the tea room, campfires, walks, swimming, yard games, and reading in the hammocks. Truly the Minnesota paradise we were looking for!

Paradise

The pictures and description are completely accurate when describing this wonderful island paradise. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped with room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing or gather in the Tea House and play games on a rainy day. We had a fantastic week hanging out with family, fishing, and just relaxing away from real life for a while.

Unique Island Stay

We loved our stay on the island. I have never experienced anything like it. I would like to come back again and enjoy all the different seasons here but it was great in the summer. Chris was helpful getting us all set up and getting the boat over to the island. The property was beautiful and private and the cabins were very nice. We especially loved the tea house and spent a lot of time there. My kids and dogs loved being able to run around the island and explore and then jump in the water to cool off.

Great Northern Island

This is quite a place to visit and unforgettable. You arrive by boat and have the whole island to your selves . Fishing is good, neighborhood is quiet, and the hammock is comfortable . Nothing like waking up to go enjoy your coffee in the Tea House and the kiddos are enjoying the tire swing. The cabins were comfortable and felt like home. We hope to return !
