The location was great, and the host responded to a question that I had very quickly. I would defiantly go back and stay here when it snows or during the summer.

Loved the kitchen! It did feel a bit like there was a lack of privacy with the sheer curtains but still very beautiful and very close to the market!

The location was fantastic! And, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the grocery store and restaurants within 5-10 min. of the cottage. While it was quiet and comfortable for 2, if we had had our family, there was not really a place for people to sit inside and play board games or chat (although the island did have a pull-out). Communication with the owner was great; but, unless I missed something, we were required to either put down a very steep deposit or purchase insurance, neither of which were good options for us. Overall, while simple, it met all our needs!

The cottage was very well stocked, spacious and neat. Very nice and clean kitchen and appliances. The host was very responsive regarding a minor problem we had with the heat which was taken care of almost immediately and a few other questions we had prior to arrival. Beautiful wrap around deck with chairs and a grill. The only detractors were that the nearby cottages were a little closer than we anticipated (and I'm not complaining that it was presented as such) and there was an attached smaller cottage - although we were there much off-season if it weren't it might have felt lacking in privacy. Also there were a few cobwebby corners and dusty lightbulbs. Although aside from that the place was very clean. I wish the fact that the master bedroom has a "sleep number bed" was mentioned as we didn't notice the remote til the day we left and it would have been appreciated! All in all it was a wonderful stay although too short. We loved going to some of the nearby state parks to see the Sequoias and more, and we loved nearby Murphys and little Arnold as well. We even had the enchanting experience of seeing a curious mama brown bear and her 2 cubs alongside a back road. Wish we didn't live in the other side of the country and could more easily come back!

Murphy's Cottage was clean, inviting, and a perfect location to get to the grocery store, restaurants, and White Pines Lake. The kitchen had all of the amenities you need, the new AC unit in the living area was perfect at cooling down the place quickly, and the bedrooms were comfortable. We would definitely stay again when in Arnold!

Arnold summer stay

Terrific house for two couples! Near many things to do, some great restaurants. Communication with owner is top notch!

Murphy’s Cottage was perfect for our relaxing getaway! The house was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the large shaded deck and grill for dining outdoors. Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. We were especially happy to have our dog with us. Arnold has a lot to offer, and is very dog friendly. Communication with the owner was easy. He was quick to respond to questions. We look forward to returning to this idyllic spot in the future.

Cabin in the woods

The cabin was very cute- looked recently remodeled inside. The kitchen was gorgeous and was opened to the living room. The deck was nice to sit on. The cabin had a nice secluded feel- empty lot on both sides of the cabin. We used the back yard to throw the ball for our dog.

Absolutely adorable little place

I honestly was surprised, as the house was even cuter in person. Owner was super accomidating. I will def recommend to other friends and family who come and visit me(im a local)

A break from the Bay Area

We came up to Arnold for a little getaway from the Bay Area and we had an amazing time. Murphys cottage was very clean, spacious and the location was perfect. I loved the covered porch and the rocking chair. It was a lovely spot to curl up with a book. The kitchen island table was expandable and perfect for our game nights. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations.

Cozy cottage in the woods

This is a great location to access Bear Valley Ski Resort. Also, there are nearby hiking and mountain biking trails we really enjoyed. Neighborhood was quiet. This property has everything you need, not to mention being pet friendly. Owner is very responsive and answers questions quickly, and is also very kind. I left some important prescriptions behind, and he made sure I received them back promptly. Much appreciated! We plan to return next ski season.

Cute and Cozy Cabin

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Murphy's cabin. It appeared as listed. We appreciated the warm blankets and board games. Great location and the best part was we could bring our dog with us. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

The Winter Home

This was our fifth visit to Murphy’s Cottage, and our kids have lovingly nicknamed it "the winter home" since we make annual trips. The cabin is always clean and well-kept, and its location is perfect—close to the main road and nearby stores. It’s equipped with central heating and a cozy wood-burning fireplace, which we love to relax by after a day in the snow at Bear Valley. Plus, it’s just a 35-minute drive to the slopes, making it a convenient and comfortable retreat.
