The Mar Vista Grand property was built in 2005. The general contractor was Dargan construction, one of the highest quality and most salt after builders in the area. The building is designed and built under heavy commercial construction standards, using concrete and steel. However, heavy feet stomping and furniture sliding does occur periodically. The windows and frames are Impact glass, also called hurricane or laminate glass.
Our vacation home is continually maintained at a very high standard with new countertops and cabinetry, a new drinks bar and two new showers. The water heater was replaced in 2023 and HVAC in 2020 and includes a UV light filter. The paint finish is renewed every year as well as the linens and towels.
The property is served by a four level, covered parking garage with gated and electronic building access. The lobbies are spacious and comfortable, equipped with four high-speed elevators. The hallways are highly decorated and conditioned throughout. The safety features in the building include a high-pressure fire, suppression system, life, safety system, fire, and smoke monitoring, backup generator for common areas and elements, four separate fire evacuation stairs.
Warning! Choosing to vacation on the East Coast of the Atlantic Ocean front is a risky endeavor. Sunburn, water wrinkles, sandy feet and rear ends, fattening food, dizzying drinks, blisters and callous from walking, golfing, putt putting, shopping, eating and drinking may occur. The world’s largest pool, the Atlantic Ocean is known for high surf, storms, high winds, heavy rains, bright sunshine, and wide and extensive sandy beaches. Along with the sunburn, you might hear the heavy winds, stormy surf, experience flooding streets from thunderstorms, and power outages. Being on the coast is inherent with huge amounts of rest and relaxation and at the same time fun and excitement. “Don’t forget to turn so you don’t burn” and please remember your hosts are not in control of any of this.
