Michael and Nancy Sherard’s journey to owning 501 Mar Vista Grande is a heartwarming tale of love, nostalgia, and shared dreams. Living in Greenwood, South Carolina, this relatively newlywed couple has a rich history of vacationing in Myrtle Beach, where both spent their childhoods with family. After years of individual experiences, they decided it was time to create a shared sanctuary by the ocean. Their quest for the perfect ocean home took them on a scenic exploration from St. Simons Island, Georgia, to the coast of North Carolina. Ultimately, they found their ideal spot in North Myrtle Beach, a serene alternative to the bustling Myrtle Beach, renowned for its Shag dancing culture. In January 2022, they purchased Mar Vista unit 501, fulfilling their dream of having a place that truly belonged to them both. Michael, who works part-time as a real estate broker, and Nancy, a retired school principal with a flair for home decorating, poured their hearts into making unit 501 a beautiful retreat. With Nancy’s keen eye for design, the unit features fresh, contemporary furnishings, including new beds and mattresses, and state-of-the-art technology like a 65” picture frame smart TV in the great room, along with smart TVs in every bedroom. The expansive deck of their ocean home is a highlight, offering stunning ocean and city views, perfect for entertaining or simply enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Newly furnished with comfortable seating, it’s a space designed for relaxation and connection. Their commitment to making 501 Mar Vista Grande a welcoming haven is evident in every detail, from the modern fitness center located on our floor, to the thoughtful decor throughout the unit. Michael and Nancy hope that others will not only enjoy their ocean home but also create lasting memories just as they have. From our condo at 501 Mar Vista Grande in North Myrtle Beach, you are just minutes from several premier golf courses, dozens of fabulous restaurants, and virtually every kind of shopping you can imagine. If mini golf is your thing, there are numerous Putt-Putt courses within a couple of miles. Costco and Sam’s Club are in Myrtle Beach, about 20 minutes away by car. We are within walking distance of Main Street in the Ocean Drive section, which offers great restaurants, shops, and Fat Harold’s Beach Club, where shag dancing happens seven nights a week. The on-site amenities at Mar Vista Grande—indoor and outdoor pools, lazy river, hot tubs, kiddie pools, and fitness facilities—are second to none and a big reason we chose North Myrtle Beach for our vacation home.
