We were just outside of the Central location but still a street over from 5th Ace and a block from the beach. It was the perfect location this shoulder season. Plenty of shops nearby and a large supermarket 5 mins away on 10th ave.

VRBO AND VACASA!

The property I booked through VRBO is managed by VACASA and I couldn’t have been happier. Very large unit in an excellent condo property, especially for the price. Very pleased. I will definitely contact them again without hesitation. Five stars, for sure.

Disappointed

First of all, the codes to enter the complex and the apartment never worked, and my sister and I had to wait in the heat outside for over half an hour until the customer service person answered. All the codes were wrong. When we got in, the shower wasn't working, so I told them we'd have to use the auxiliary hose to shower. They planned to come two days later at 7:00 a.m. to fix it, which never happened. I also let them know that some of the lights weren't working and that a pan in the kitchen was crooked and unusable. I asked if the apartment had a table and iron, and they said yes. When I arrived, I told them I couldn't find it anywhere, and they told me they would send someone. No one came either. Communication in general is very poor, they answer you quickly, but at the same time there are several people and among them they answer different things, in the end there is no clear communication between them and it is very confusing, before completing my reservation, I asked them about the latest complaints and bad comments they had to see if they had fixed the lights and the shower and their response was yes, that the team is always aware of what needs to be fixed, very general, the answer, but in the end to know that they had not fixed anything. it is very unfortunate to have to bathe with a hose for six continuous days, they should return some money for all these bad times that they made us go through during our birthday celebration/vacation.

Good stay but no longer than a week

My partner and I stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks. It started off okay. The space was clean, yet a bit dusty (clearly no one had been in the space for a long time). It is about 15 min walk to the nicer beach (the 4 min walk beach nearby smells and is very small). It is also in the more quite area of the very busy part of Playa which was very nice. Overall pretty good stay

The condo was generally great, clean & welcoming, but in need of some updates and would be good if it was a little more well equipped. The bedding was a rough cotton coverlet, all the bathroom fixtures and shower head badly need replacing, the lampshades are broken, etc. these are not major life issues, but a soft comforter on the bed and well maintained parts would’ve made a big difference to us, and the shower head had great pressure but sprayed everywhere. Construction is still going on on the street but we didn’t have any noise issues at all. The best part was the very short walk to shops and amazing restaurants. That made up for any issues we had with the room. And please add an iron for future guests!

This was a nice one bedroom 1 1/2 bath condo in a good area near Playa Del Carmen extended 5th Avenue and close walk to beaches. Very safe area and near taxi service if you wish to go places to far to walk. The only drawback was typical of Mexico signage is limited and a very small sign on the building which made it hard to find when arriving at night. No light at the front door when trying to input the door code and the lights near the condo door stay on all of two seconds which presents a problem with the lockbox code. I would rent here again in the future.

As advertised

You can’t beat the location of this property. It’s close to everything. The property itself is a little older. The air conditioner in the living room just never really got cold too much, the fridge needs to be replaced. The facets spray water everywhere and I mean every faucet. The pool needs some TLC. Everything worked, it’s just an older property. I would definitely stay again.

No water, no electricity for 2 days!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. I've been traveling the world since I was 5 years old. This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had. Supposedly the power went out in the whole area & we were w/o water & power for 2 days. I say "supposedly" b/c we still had power in random parts of the apartment. Also there's a pharmacy on the 1st floor of the building. They still had power. There's a rooftop club across the street. They still had power. So I'm not really buying the "whole area" lost power thing. But even if that's true or possible, then why doesn't Vacasa have a backup generator? I rented a condo from Vacasa not the city of Playa. Vacasa is responsible for providing the basic necessities like water & electricity. & to refund my card $20 is a joke. We had to shower at a friend's hotel for 2 days. That inconvenience is worth way more than $20. Leaving people w/o water & power for 2 days while on vacation is unacceptable & taking no responsibility for it is unacceptable. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Honestly VRBO needs to delist them

Great location

This is a very nice, spacious apartment. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and 5th Ave. Street view is not really appealing, Lots of construction around. Rooftop pool is nice, tho could use umbrellas for shade. All in all enjoyed the stay.

Property was okay for 7 days. Kitchen was stocked with bare essentials. There were no tea towels, face towels and other items you would expect in a rental. Cabinet handles were filthy. Had to call maintenance twice as no hot water and a flood in the bedroom after a rainfall. More instructions on how to use appliances and a map of the area would have been nice

Nice place but could use some upgrades

We had a frustrating start as we received the wrong code to enter the building. We communicated with numerous contacts but no one was able to help. Ensure you get the correct code. Also the water in the shower is cold; I complained about it but it was never resolved. The place is in an ideal location; close to beach and shopping and food at close proximity.

Spacious and great location!

Large 1 bedroom condo with 1.5 baths, which I haven’t seen much. Very close to beach access, nice restaurants on 38th street just steps away and 2 blocks from 5th Ave! Pool was nice and we had a wrap around balcony.

Not suitable for long term stay

I was working remotely and was annoyed with the constant noise from the construction across the street, the noise was loud and very distracting. Also the sink faucet sprays water out where it wets everything around it and in front! There’s no coffee even for day 1, so bring your own!!

Everything you’ll need!

Everything you’ll need within a 3-5 minute walk! Super easy check-in, property was extremely quiet, all things we provided that would help with our stay (beach towels, dishes to cook, toilet paper, drying off towels, sheets for couch, etc.) — not one complaint here. Will be back again hopefully if we visit Playa.

Great vacation condo

This place was perfect for exploring Playa del Carmen, close to fifth avenue but right between the quiet and busy sides of it, and away from the action far enough to be quiet. Also very quick walk to the beach, and close to our fav restaurant The Pitted Date. Condo was clean, huge, and comfortable. I slept on the futon which was comfortable enough. Thanks!!

Great location!

PROS: This condo is in a great location- 2 minute walk to fifth ave and 5 minute walk to the beach. It's in a residential area so no loud music to disturb (typically). The building is accessed via key code provided prior to arrival with lock boxes for keys to the units. The instructions were clear for easy access. The unit has good amenities and the half bath provides additional comfort for guests while keeping the master bath private. It is well equipped with basics so you'll need to take ALL your own extras including salt and pepper. It's a good sized unit with a king bed and separate fountain in the living area for guests. The deck is large, covered and comfortable, however there is only seating for 2. 42nd street is 2 minutes from both 38th (great restaurants) and fifth ave for restaurants, entertainment and shopping. It's also an easy 30 minute walk north up 5th to playa Esmeralda for great beach and snorkelling. Pool area is often deserted allowing for privacy and comfort. CONS: There is a lot of construction so that will contribute to noise for the foreseeable future. Property management is somewhat unreliable. We had an issue with the safe (yes there's a safe) and it would not properly unlock. Had our valuables been locked inside, the 48 hours it took for the administrator to respond and arrange service, would have been unacceptable. There is no laundry however the kitchen sink is large enough to do it by hand if desired. The unit is tired and in need of upgrades. Suggestions: -provide beach chairs for guests to enjoy the beach -add a drying rack to the unit for hand washing and drying of personal clothing
