Wow. We are absolutely shocked and saddened by this review. Knowing what it’s like to plan a wedding and a bachelorette party on a budget, we went out of our way to accommodate you on a number of special requests. We should have known asking for favors with payment, under minimum age, and saying your party wasn’t really a party should have all been red flags. But we thought the best. Now your review blatantly stats you were not being truthful about the number of guests. We made it very clear that our maximum occupancy is 11, and that would be with people doubling up on a futon and double beds(which is usually couples or children, not adults). Now you are saying you broke house rules AND the signed lease agreement and had 16 people in our home?!?! Of course you were uncomfortable, 16 people is way too many in a 3 bedroom home and we never would have allowed that. And that sounds like a party, which you specifically stated you were not going to do and is against house rules and the lease you signed. It also explains the excessive garbage; our 68 gallon garbage bin was completely empty when you arrived. As we explained on the phone, if you leave excess bags we get charged and we pass on those charges to the guest. We were nice enough NOT to charge you for the box of garbage by the curb, or the 2 bags of garbage we found hidden in our shed. To your other concerns; the lawn is mowed every 7-10 days and was mowed 4 days before you arrived. I was at the property with personal guests having a bar-b-q hours after you left and no one had issues with bugs. We also have a bug zapper and bug spray in the cupboard. There isn’t much more we can do as hosts. Maybe Minnesota outdoors aren’t your thing? I’m sorry you could not find the 2 brooms, mop, and vacuum in the broom closet. Nor the straw broom on the front porch. They are very clearly placed for convenience, and we never thought we had to point people directly to them. The specific location is now added to our welcome email so future guests know to look in the closet for a broom. AC unit was working, but making a noise which has since been fixed. I just checked the wifi thermostat history and the temperature in the home never got above 72 your entire stay even while running an oven all day during 95 degree heat. I am really at a loss as to why you couldn’t work the oven. It was used by myself and other guests in the week before and the week after your stay with no issues. I used it earlier today and it cooked just like the package said. Same with the coffee pot and toaster, both of which I used this morning with no problems at all. When you had an issue with the circuit breaker(probably because you had 16 girls getting ready to go out) your cousin called us FROM A BAR after everyone had left the home instead of while you were there so we could still help you. I wish you communicated with us so we could have assisted. Lightbulbs; there were 0 lightbulbs out the week before you arrived. I replaced 3 after you left. Sometimes bulbs burn out, and we have extras in the laundry room next to the laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies. We do not clean or change light bulbs mid stay. Sorry if that was expected. Ants; we have never had ant issues until you stayed with 16 girls and over 68 gallons of trash. We have not had ant issues since you left. We feel badly that you didn’t enjoy your stay in our home, and wish you could have been more upfront with your communication so we all were left more satisfied.
