Ce magnifique cottage de style Nouvelle-Angleterre du tour du siècle se trouve au bord de l'eau à l'embouchure de Little Harbour et offre une vue dégagée sur le sud-est. Écoutez les vagues se briser contre les rebords qui ne sont qu’à un jet de pierre du pont ensoleillé. Ce chalet a été restauré pour ramener tout le charme d'antan. Bien que certaines mises à jour aient eu lieu, vous apprécierez tout de même l’ambiance classique des cottages du Maine avec leurs poutres apparentes dans toute la maison. Ce cottage a été décoré avec goût de ses plats bleu cobalt aux poissons en bois colorés qui ornent les murs pour créer une ambiance nautique amusante. Profitez de la spacieuse véranda pour entrer à l'extérieur, dotée de sièges et d'une table à manger. Entrez par l'arrière et laissez-vous choyer par de superbes vues sur l'océan. Au rez-de-chaussée, il y a un grand salon / salle à manger avec une cheminée à utiliser pendant les nuits les plus fraîches. Une cuisine et une salle de télévision se trouvent également à cet étage, ainsi qu'une salle de bain avec une douche séparée et un lave-linge / sèche-linge. La cuisine a beaucoup de charme et est bien équipée. En montant les escaliers, vous trouverez quatre chambres à coucher et une salle de bain complète avec baignoire uniquement. Faites-vous plaisir avec de grandes chambres. L'un est équipé d'un lit king, l'un avec une reine et les deux autres avec chacun un jumeau. Les deux chambres avant (King et Queen) ont une vue exceptionnelle sur l'océan que vous n'aurez même pas à sortir du lit pour voir. Revenez dans le temps et installez-vous dans ce cottage par excellence!

Beautiful property- charming and perfect for our vacation with 2 small children. The neighbors were also extremely pleasant and welcoming and being in such close proximity to hikes and local businesses was a huge benefit.

Very clean, cute, cottage right in the ocean. The host was very quick to answer my messages. Very comfortable beds and great water pressure. All amenities were as described. Beautiful island and wonderful atmosphere. Will be returning.

We had a great time on Bailey's island! This house had beautiful ocean views all around. Was so cozy and quiet - would recommend to anyone planning to go to Bailey's Island! The property was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Would not recommend more than 8 people otherwise it would’ve been a bit crowded. The house is walking distance to Fishnet cafe, Coastal Creations and right next to Giants Stairs.Walking distance to Lands End shop and some of the beaches that have sea glass! (Mackerel Cove)

Rustic but really nice. Ocean views and outside deck are amazing. Love being able to open the windows for an ocean breeze and listen to the waves. We fully enjoyed the house and our stay.

Outstanding! Traditional Maine camp with stunning views. Roomy and comfortable. We explored the peninsula: hiking, beaches, and restaurants. We walked on the Giant Stairs trail every day. Fabulous!

wonderful, rustic cottage with amazing water views - very responsive manager and cottage was very well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the location and scenery despite the cold, torrential rains for 3 of the 4 days! Appreciated the extra blankets, heater and comforters!

Classic Maine Oceanfront Cottage

We loved our stay here and hope to return again next summer. Beautiful comfortable sunroom to enjoy meals, reading, and watching the changing surf. Very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of sleeping rooms for guests. Great family retreat. Hiking trails close by.

Home is in a beautiful setting. Views/sea breeze wonderful. We felt we did not get the value for the money we paid. Two star hotels provide bath soaps and shampoos. Should be stated on the listing that these items are not provided. You are told days before on a check-in email. At this price point, these should be provided – even small disposable ones that two/three star hotels provide. I recommend that the owners invest a bit into their property. Mattresses are old as are the pillows. At this price point, this should not be. TV was not working and while the owner was very communicative, I had to get it working. The middle back burner of the stove does not work. A few more dollars gives a much higher quality. Again, small investments yield great returns. New appliances and fixtures (frig, dishwasher, microwave, toilets) were greatly appreciated. The hatch that closes the attic space in the main bathroom is undersized and allows oppressively hot air to pour down into the bathroom. One of the wood chairs in the living room had nails sticking out, which my wife found out when she cut her hand on it. Cleaning service needs improvement. We take our shoes off when we enter a home. After walking barefoot or in socks, the soles of our feet were black. The host was kind and always responsive and it was very much appreciated. But again, we left feeling we did not get the value for the price point. I would recommend that folks look at other properties for this price point.

Hi Stephen- I wish you had reported cleaning, stove, chair to us we would have happily taken care of it. When you wrote to us about the tv it turned out to be unplugged.

The grey shingled cottage

The location was spectacular. The house has so much potential but needs a little TLC. Roof leaked in hard rain bathroom wall upstairs at the tub needs replaced and floor in king bedroom needs some leveling. My favorite spot was the enclosed porch. Spent a lot of time there because of the wonderful view.

Authentic Coastal Maine

Older house with a beautiful oceanfront view tucked into an accessible but quiet setting that provided the downtime I needed from this vacation. The house did not provide much privacy, with sound easily traveling through walls, and an interior update would have added to its attractiveness. The view was fantastic but actual access to the water was limited or impossible depending upon one's physical condition due to the steep rocky incline of the bluff. The week provided a relaxed sampling of the way life should be and Bailey Island itself is an easy drive from the Boston area.

We liked: Right on the ocean, the nice sunroom, off street parking, 30-second walk to Driftwood Inn for breakfast. We didn’t like: couldn't take a shower on the first night after a long road trip because no shampoo or shower soap was provided. 98% of all hotels and vacation rentals provide these so it's a standard guest expectation. Could've been addressed by a reminder in the listing for guests to bring their own. Next, I bumped my head badly on the top of the entranceway, which is only 64 inches high in contrast to the standard residential door height of 80 inches. Need a warning sign reminding guests of “Low clearance” when entering, and/or striped safety tape across the head jamb. Next, the electric tea kettle in the kitchen had water in it along with sediment and waterlogged crackers. Another tea kettle looked corroded so I ended up using a saucepan to heat my water. The stovetop had standing water on it. Next, the upstairs bathroom ceiling leaked one night from rain, a known issue. Next, half the flashlights in the event of a power outage didn’t work and the most accessible one had a stained lens as if the batteries had leaked. Next, the listing says the unit has heating but it's a propane unit that mostly just heats the living room. We stayed in October and it was chilly some days. In sum, we experienced multiple issues. A turn-of-the-century cottage is OK but the owner and property management need to address these issues especially safety ones; some are easy fixes.

Comfortable home with lots of great spots to relax and take in the ocean views. Would be a great house for a family getaway - there were only 2 of us, but I couldn't resist renting the house after I saw the photos of the property, and it met and exceeded expectations. Loved having access to the rocky shore, and made several trips to walk the Giant's Stairs trail next to the house. Highly recommend this vacation spot! Easy drive back to Portland or to the small towns north, and the Maine Botanical Gardens.
