The accommodations were extremely awesome, clean and very homey. We were blown away on how lovely the views were and thoroughly enjoyed the live band playing during the memorial weekend

Nice, clean cabin. Surprisingly large tv with lots of options. This cabin is right next to the playground. The hosts are nice, there’s kayak rental options, and it’s a family-friendly place.

Nice basic cabin located in a campground. Lovely view of Lake Au Train from the living room. Very comfortable beds!FYI-It is not a separate / stand alone cabin-another (large, family-sized) cabin abuts the living room. Another note— while it’s dog friendly, the campground rules do not allow leaving the dog alone even for a quick dinner or store run. This is my first pet-friendly that has this restriction.

Great little cabin close to so much

We only stayed one night but really could have stayed longer. Went kayaking at Pictured Rocks and explored a few waterfalls. If we stayed longer it would have been fun to kayak right there in Au Train. Campground staff were so friendly when we checked in.

Great family grounds

Cabin was very nice and clean. There were lots of family/children friendly activities on the grounds such as swimming, kayaks, paddle boarding, tetherball, basketball court to keep everyone having fun. Lake Superior is close by for swimming or hanging out at the big lake. Will definitely stay her again.

Perfect UP rustic getaway

The cabin was warm and exactly what I expected. I enjoyed staying in a historic style cottage, we have all the amenities we needed. There were several upgrades that I could see the owners are working very hard to revive this classic family resort. We’ll go back for sure!

2024 UP Trip

Only negative was door lock doesn’t work. Other wise cabin was clean, neat, pleasant and as advertised. Resort history provided was appreciated.

Wonderful!

This cabin is right on Lake AuTrain in a lovely campground/resort. The cabins are nicely spaced apart. There is great access to the lake from a beach and a large deck with easy chairs. The owners are super nice and responsive. We rented a boat for fishing and had a great time. The cabin was cozy, well equipped, and super clean. We spent a week there to go grouse hunting in the national forest and enjoy the sites. We had a terrific time

Not Very Private

I guess we did not pay close enough attention when we read the description. I read that they had sites for motor homes but the pictures looked like they were on one side of the property with the cabins distanced from them. Not the case. Too noisy and crowded. Plus the cabin we had was dirty, small, and dark. On the plus side, the host was as accommodating as she could be under the circumstances.

Thank you for your review. I would however, have to disagree. While we do have campsites on our 15 acre property, they are well way from the cabins. At least 300 feet away. Small, dark and dirty, in my opinion, are the complete opposite of our cabins. Our cabin are clean, spacious and well lit. Our cabins are more suited for those looking to experience the outdoors and get away from the hotel experience. If you are looking for modern city living and the hotel scene, this definitely wouldn’t be the place for you. I hope you were able to find something more suited to your needs. Thank you for trying us out.

Very nice stay at the cabin. Very nice sunrise view of the lake. We can cook for ourselves as pans, plates, utensils are all available.
