It definitely had that cozy cottage feel! The beds were comfortable, the master bedroom was spacious, and it was in a good location for all the places we wanted to go to visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house was centrally located to Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak etc! Liked that we could sit in both the front and back of the house. The only drawback is that the kitchen is small, only 1 person can be in there at a time.
This cottage was perfectly cozy for meeting up with our college kid for a weekend. It was a perfect blend of cozy space-indoors and out-but also ample bed space for everyone to get a good night's sleep. The snacks were a welcime treat after a long day of travel. Clean, comfortable and cozy!Easy access to Garden of the Gods and Manitou restaurants and stores. We also enjoyed hiking at North Cheyenne Canyon and dining at Mausum.
I met my brother for a reunion and it was perfect. Well supplied and absolutely adorable. Lots of great snacks and in the middle of Colorado Springs and Manitou - 5 minutes either way. . Easy to get to all the tourist attractions. A couple of little glitches but the Host was immediately responsive. Only drawback is a very small kitchen, but we were not planning on cooking anyway.
Beautiful home in a great location near center Manitou and Old Colorado City. Clean and comfortable! Stayed for the weekend to hike the Manitou Incline and attend a concert at the Ford Amphitheater.
This house is very close to Pike's Peak and Mannitou Incline so it was perfect for our hiking vacation. It's a sweet little house with character, lovely furnishings and a beautiful yard where we enjoyed eating breakfast. We had 4 adults in our group and it was a great size. It would be a little tight for 6 adults, and 2 would have to walk through another bedroom to get to their bedroom, but the third room would be a perfect room for children.
The Emerald Nest was a great choice for my 2 adult children and myself to stay 3 nights in Colorado Springs, from Minnesota. With a grocery store right across the street, we were able to comfortably use the kitchen and dining room to host a dinner for another son, his wife, and their 3 children. All were impressed by the home, saying "good choice", "great place", "so fun", "we'll have to stay longer next time!"We used the front porch each morning to have coffee and plan our days. We were entertained by a doe and 2 fawns in the back yard! We enjoyed the Red Rock Canyon Open Area, visited my son's home, and watched his kids play recreational football while there.Everyone now has a reference point for future stays in the area, and I'll plan on staying in the Emerald Nest when I return for visits. Thanks, Cindy!
The house was cute, charming, clean and nicely decorated. The front porch was nice and enjoyable in the evenings. The view of the mountains was nice, in the evenings as the sun goes down, you can see all the lights start to show up on the mountain side. It was magical. Everything was easy to find in the house, and the snacks were very thoughtful. The downfall of the house, is the air conditioning. There is a small fan in the bedroom I plugged into the front room to circulate the air from the unit, to try to help. We also closed the bedroom door a little to get that room to cool with that unit. This helped quite a bit. We couldnât sit outback because of the overgrown sunflowers next to every sitting area, that is an easy fix just remove the plants next to the chairs, the grill and the fire pit. I am 100% sure if I would have called Cindy this would have been taken care of. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, we would stay again, and I have already recommended this house to a few friends.
It was the perfect location. The owner was very accessible. My son forgot his glasses and she responded immediately and mailed them the next day! The garden was so fun and the house was perfect for us, couldnât have asked for more!
Truly enjoyed my stay here. The garden out back is adorable. It was nice to sit outside and be comfortable. The kitchen is small but perfect for a couple of days stay. The location is perfect. Especially to visit the local sites and restaurants. Check in and out are easy. The beds and furniture are comfortable. Left here feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. .
The house is so cute like gramma'sThe beds were very comfortable Safeway and sonic and domino's literally out the front doorWonderful stay beautiful view off the front porch
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here at the Emerald Nest. The location is convenient to get to many things down town and is pretty close to the Garden of the Gods as well. It is an older house but the upkeep is well done. We learned to keep the fans on full boar at night in conjunction with the AC units in each room. Had a bit of a problem with one of the AC units at night but Cindy was helpful as we worked to resolve it. Overall, a good stay.

Neighborhood location a bit concerning with homeless population across street. No washer dryer but listed washer dryer. Place really only sleeps 4-5 not 6-8 as listed.
This little historic home exceeded all our expectations. The host was amazing, and made check incredibly easy. With walking distance to Garden of the Gods and a five minute minute drive to both Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, we couldn't have asked for a better location. Highly recommended!
Comfortable, cute house in the heart of Colorado Springs.
This is an older house that retains all the charm, but has any updates you need. The kitchen has windows on two sides, adding to the cottage feel. The living room is comfortable and the bedrooms are plenty large with lovely nature inspired decor. The beds were very comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a fire pit in the yard. There was a gas grill which we used once. The location was convenient to our daughterâs house and not far from downtown and restaurants. Itâs also close to Garden of the gods and the town of Manitou Springs.
This house was just right for our visit to Colorado Springs. The front porch was a great spot for hanging out, and the back yard would have been as well if it hadn't been rainy. Everything was as nice as the descriptions and photos showed. I would gladly stay there again.
I am a realtor with a love of nature and historic homes. This cottage type home has the charm of the turn of the century mixed with modern day life! it is a very warm and relaxing place to rent, short or long term.
We chose this property because of its historic appeal and close proximity to Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City and Garden of the Gods park. It is very convenient to everything local and easy in and out as well. Beautiful sitting porch with a view of Pikes peak, nice and private back yard for evenings around the fire, and ample parking for large families or people traveling together!
