Envie de faire une pause au plus beau bout du monde ? Alors prends l'avion pour Le Cap. L'endroit de tes rĂȘves s'appelle Scarborough, un village cĂŽtier idyllique au bout du monde. C'est l'endroit le plus au sud-ouest de l'Afrique, Ă  quelques kilomĂštres seulement du Cap de Bonne EspĂ©rance et Ă  40 minutes en voiture de Cape Town - un secret absolu !

Dans la Beach House de luxe, tu peux te dĂ©connecter complĂštement pour une durĂ©e dĂ©terminĂ©e - que ce soit pour une semaine ou plusieurs mois, le bureau Ă  domicile le permet - et ce sans grand dĂ©calage horaire. Tu as 270 mĂštres carrĂ©s pour toi - avec 3 chambres Ă  coucher, 3 salles de bain, une cuisine entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e et un grand salon et salle Ă  manger avec cheminĂ©e, une grande terrasse avec piscine et une vue de rĂȘve ! La plage de sable fin n'est qu'Ă  10 minutes Ă  pied.

L'Ocean's Horizon Beach House se trouve à Scarborough, une petite ville cÎtiÚre idyllique au sud-ouest de la région du Cap, avec moins de 1000 habitants, dont de nombreux artistes et marginaux - un petit paradis et un vrai tuyau ! Avec sa situation époustouflante au bord de l'Atlantique, entourée d'une réserve naturelle, la localité a ses limites naturelles et - nommée "Eco Village" il y a 25 ans - ne peut plus se développer. Ainsi, Scarborough n'est pas conçu pour accueillir de grands flux de touristes, il est idéal pour ceux qui recherchent le calme et est tout simplement unique.

De nombreuses grandes attractions de la pĂ©ninsule du Cap se trouvent dans les environs immĂ©diats - par exemple le Cap de Bonne EspĂ©rance, la colonie de pingouins de Simon's Town, la Long Beach de Noordhoek, sans oublier la pittoresque plage privĂ©e de Scarborough, oĂč l'on peut observer les surfeurs.

Selon la saison, on peut mĂȘme observer des baleines, des dauphins et des phoques Ă  Scarborough - avec un peu de chance, directement depuis la terrasse de l'Ocean's Horizon. Les jumelles sont dĂ©jĂ  prĂȘtes ! Mais pas seulement pour la vue sur la mer. Le soir, un ciel Ă©toilĂ© grandiose t'attend, qui n'est limitĂ© par aucune grande source de lumiĂšre, car le lieu, en tant qu'Eco Village, renonce volontairement Ă  l'Ă©clairage des rues !

We celebrated our Christmas holiday at this beautiful home by the sea. The photos truly capture the beauty this home has to offer. The manager was friendly and available when we needed anything. The owners have done a wonderful job with the decor too. It is an easy walk down to the beach and the local shops as well. The neighborhood was safe and it made us feel like we were at home! We hope to return again in the future.

Exceeding Expectations

We stayed three nights in May 2024. Dalene, the property manager, was delightful and made the experience so easy. The owners have a beautiful home including amazing views and it had everything we needed to just show up and be completely comfortable and feel right at home. We’d say it was a once in a lifetime experience except for the fact we may very well return again!

Wow!! Such a beautiful home!

Everything about this lovely home was perfect and Torsten, the owner was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about all the amazing things to do, see and places to eat in this gorgeous area. Dalene, the property manager was delightful and truly wanted our stay to be perfect in every way!! I cannot more highly recommend this home if you are looking for stunning views, friendly people and so many fun things to do in this area, just outside of Cape Town!! We will be back in summer to experience another season here!!

Our stay was heavenly - the house is absolutely fantastic. More than enough room to spread out, large bedrooms, many bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and the Views were amazing. The community is friendly and laid back, the house is an easy drive to the Cape of Good Hope, Simons Town, Kalk Bay, and several days we drove into Cape Town for sightseeing and shopping. The fireplace kept the house nice and warm. Dalene is wonderful - she took great care of us, keeping us well informed about weather, load shedding, etc. we will definitely look to return and stay at this property!!

Fantastic Place for our Family Reunion!!!

After 2 years of separation due to Corona, we have chosen Susan's and Alex Place for our family reunion. What a great choice. Susan and Alex were wonderful hosts, the communication and check in were perfect. The house had everything, well equipped, great architecture, a wonderful view, enough space and comfortable beds. It was such a pleasure, that we could rent this house and we had a wonderful time. Also Scarborough is a lovely place with nice cafes and it has a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. My son said, we could make this to a tradition. I wish we could!! Thank you Susan and Alex, it was wonderful!!

I recently stayed at house for four nights by myself as part of a two week trip to South Africa from the US. The communication was excellent from the very first request to book. Dalene the host was kind, helpful and informative. She explained everything at check in thoroughly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the stay. This location is remote but an excellent choice if you want a mix of pure relaxation and the option to go explore the Cape or some of the other bays like Simon’s Town, Clifford Beach and Camps Bay. I hiked Lion’s Head mountain (highly recommend) 45 min drive from house. Table Mountain is also a must. The house sits high up the cliff overlooking the ocean with perfect views. One of my favorite all time VRBO rentals. I highly recommended. Cozy fires were awesome after exploring throughout the day and hiking the rail behind the house was a great hike. Can’t say enough great things about the entire experience! Thank you for accuracy in your description, your hospitality and information about Capetown. A.

Perfekter Standort fĂŒr AusflĂŒge rund um Kapstadt

Luxuriöses, gerĂ€umiges und sehr gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus 40 Minuten sĂŒdlich von Kapstadt. Die Terrasse mit Blick auf die Bucht von Scarborough ist traumhaft mit kleinem Pool, in dem die Kinder super baden können. Die SonnenuntergĂ€nge, die man von dort beobachten kann sind spektakulĂ€r und unvergesslich. Der Wohnraum ist sehr luftig und gerĂ€umig mit mehreren Sofas und Sesseln, die Schlafzimmer sind mit bequemen Betten und jeweils einem Bad en Suite ausgestattet. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Susan ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die uns persönlich empfangen hat und uns jederzeit fĂŒr Fragen und Ausflugstips zu VerfĂŒgung stand. Im Dorf gibt es einen kleinen Laden, in dem man von frischen Brötchen bis zu hausgemachtem Eis alles bekommen kann. Im ersten Stock des Ladens befindet sich ein Restaurant, in dem man sehr gut essen kann. Uns hat das Ferienhaus und der Ort so gut gefallen, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen werden. From the first contact through the entire stay, the host provided exceptional attention to our needs offering a stunning property. Scarborough is the perfect location to base from while visiting the Cape. Whatever adventure you choose, it is mostly within an hours drive and then you return to this lovely home to recount the day enjoying a beautiful sunset or watching the waves roll in. Traumhaft !!!!

Schon die BegrĂŒssung durch Susan und Alex sowie der HaushĂ€lterin Grace fiel liebenswĂŒrdig und herzlich aus. Der KĂŒhlschrank war grosszĂŒgig gefĂŒllt mit erlesenen Speisen wie Brot, KĂ€se , Salat und FrĂŒchten sowie einem BegrĂŒssungswein. Wir fĂŒhlten uns jede Minute in dem grosszĂŒgig gebauten und sehr stilvoll eingerichteten Haus absolut wohl. Die gedeckte Terrasse mit dem Pool und der Blick zum Meer ist herrlich um traumhafte SonnenuntergĂ€nge zu geniessen. Die Fotos entsprechen absolut der RealitĂ€t und wir können dieses Haus und ihre Vermieter aus voller Überzeugung empfehlen. Scarborough ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt um die unberĂŒhrte Natur aber auch die unterschiedlichen Dörfer und SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten des Kap zu erkunden. Auch Kapstadt liegt in gut erreichbarer NĂ€he.

Traumhafte Aussicht

Bereits im Voraus wurden wir von Susan mit allen hilfreichen und nĂŒtzlichen Informationen zur Umgebung und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, etc. beliefert. Wir wurden bestens umsorgt und fĂŒhlten uns schon vor der Ankunft herzlichst Willkommen. Dass dann bei der Ankunft der KĂŒhlschrank bereits mit den wichtigsten Grundnahrungsmitteln bestĂŒckt war und eine Flasche Wein wie auch eine Tafel Schokolade und Biskuits die Ankunft versĂŒssten, war eine riesige Überraschung und die Spitze der Gastfreundlichkeit! Das Haus ist in perfekter Hanglage mit wunderschöner Aussicht ĂŒber die Meeresbucht. Die SonnenuntergĂ€nge sind traumhaft und zweimal konnten wir auch eine Delfinschule (Gruppe mit mehreren hundert Tieren) beobachten. Das Teleskop fĂŒr die "Nahaufnahmen" steht im Wohnzimmer bereit. Das Haus ist mit allen nötigten Utensilien ausgerĂŒstet. FĂŒr den Ausflug an den Strand stehen auch Strandliegen, Sonnenschirm, KĂŒhlbox und Body-Board zur VerfĂŒgung. Wer sich ins immer kalte Atlantikwasser wagt, kann damit herrlich auf den Wellen gleiten. FĂŒr uns lag das Haus im ruhigen Scarborough perfekt, um mit kurzen Autofahrten das Kap der Guten Hoffnung, die Pinguine in Simons Town, die farbigen BadehĂ€uschen in Muizenberg und natĂŒrlich auch Kapstadt selbst zu besuchen. Amazing

Oceans Horizon is a unique place. The house is very charming and comfortable. The position and the view are just amazing. Everything is really perfect. We have missed nothing. Scarborough itself ist a very nice, calm and lovely village. Susan and Alex, owner of the property, are such lovely and helpful. We will come back as soon as possible.

Exquisite!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Ocean's Horizon. The house is so beautiful, well kept, and clean and the views are like a dream come true! Susan left us a welcoming gift along with some groceries in the refrigerator which was super unexpected! Susan was so great to work with and provided us with so many resources on things to do and places to go. We loved the small town charm of Scarborough but were still close to so many other attractions. Our stay here and their hospitality exceeded our expectations! We would love to come back again!

point de vue fantastique. confort et propreté remarquable. parfait pour 3 couples.il ne manque rien. scarborough peut paraßtre un peu loin de Capetown, mais la route via Houtbay est superbe, on ne s'en lasse pas; et on profite du calme. nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse.

We are Torsten and Martin! We absolutely fell in love with Ocean’s Horizon, and we were over the moon when we were given the opportunity to take over this wonderful home in September 2022. With the vast Atlantic Ocean in front of you and Baskloof Nature Reserve behind you, it truly is a magical place that will inspire you and make you feel at peace.

Ocean’s Horizon is not only perfectly suited for a holiday, but also for extended stays — or even as your remote office if you’re a digital nomad. We also love working from Ocean’s Horizon — but only three months out of the year. The rest of the time we rent out the house so that you also have the opportunity to experience its magic.

Breathtaking sea views:
Enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the beach and the coastal town of Scarborough from the open-plan living area, the veranda, the pool and even from the king-size bed, shower and whirlpool bath in the main bedroom.

The Baskloof Nature Reserve begins directly behind Ocean’s Horizon. A garden gate leads to this natural paradise and up to the local mountain, Camel Rock, which offers a variety of hiking trails and a stunning view of the coastline.

Ample space for up to six people:
The spacious 270 mÂČ-home is on three levels and has three bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The beds in Bedrooms 2 and 3 can be separated if desired.

Exceptional architecture and timeless design:
The stylish house offers spectacular panoramic vistas through large windows that blur the line between indoors and outdoors. The kitchen, dining room, lounge with fireplace and entertainment area merge seamlessly into one another and their bright interiors evoke a holiday feeling.

Exclusive privacy for special moments:
The house, the veranda and the garden are shielded from outside glances and are therefore ideal for an intimate getaway for two. The garage offers direct access to the house.

Luxurious features - delightful all year long:
In summer, the spacious veranda beckons with its small plunge pool, sun loungers and even a braai (barbecue grill). On cooler days, the open fireplace in the lounge, the gas fireplace in the main bedroom, the whirlpool bath and the under-floor heating in the bathrooms and bedrooms ensure plenty of warmth for cosy moments.

Perfectly equipped ̶ even for extended stays:
The fully equipped kitchen, utility room with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer allow for a holiday escape with no limitations. For a visit to the beach, bath towels, beach chairs, parasols and a cooler are ready and waiting. And of course, the braai is waiting to be used on the veranda.

Comprehensive entertainment:
Thanks to the high-speed fibre-optic connection, complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the entire house. The large smart TV in the lounge provides for a cinema feeling from the comfort of the sofa. A large selection of films, series and TV channels is available via Netflix and DStv.

Smart home, modern living:
A sophisticated lighting concept using Alexa voice recognition and motion sensors makes switching lights on and off a breeze at Ocean’s Horizon.

Relax in complete safety - and always with power:
The tranquil coastal town of Scarborough is located away from large housing developments and is exceptionally safe ̶ you can move around freely here. To ensure peace of mind, Ocean’s Horizon is equipped with an easy-to-operate state-of-the-art security system.
