Clean, quiet, pet-friendly location about 8 miles from Machias. The view of the lake is beautiful and sunrises are worth getting up for. This was our first autumn visit to downeast Maine and we thoroughly enjoyed the woods and lake around our rental.Thank you to our host for a lovely place to stay!

If you’re traveling with your dog, this is absolutely the best place to go. Theirs a fenced in area but also lots of room for exploration. Even comes with a dog bed and toys

Beautiful location and comfy beds. But was very surprised, weirded out and disappointed that the dock was removed while we were out for a hike without a heads up. No communication before or after from the host.

This is a lovely place to stay. The location couldn’t be better - due both to being on the lake and proximity to hiking trails, other lakes, and Downeast towns. The house is comfortable and well equipped, and you have plenty of options of where to sit and enjoy the lake and its wildlife (well-windowed living/dining rooms, table and chairs on covered porch, fire pit with seating, and regular Adirondack chairs on the grass). Troy, the owner, was responsive when I had questions, which was infrequent. There is lake access, though the dock had been pulled up when I was there so I had to carry my kayak over rocks and grasses to get to the water. This wasn’t an issue; just something to be aware of if you struggle carrying the weight of your watercraft. I highly recommend this place. It’s a wonderful escape.

My family liked this place. It’s very peaceful and quiet. We could see and hear loons on the lake. House is equipped with everything necessary for cooking. It’s nicely decorated and organized inside. Everything is exactly as it’s described.

The camp was bright and clean with modern amenities. Beautiful view over the lake from the home. The lake was so peaceful accessible down over some rocks. Once there the water was warm , clear and perfect for swimming from beach or dock. The Deck and patio were well designed for enjoying the peaceful retreat. Our host was welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend for families and couples, particularly those traveling with pets as the home, small enclosed yard and deck were secure and generous.

we were looking for a relaxing getaway and this was perfect- very private, wonderful kitchen with everything you would need. It was amazing to wake up and see the lake right outside the front door. Can't wait to go back. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great pet friendly rental with a special outside area just for the dogs. Very quiet and clean space close to great hikes. A fantastic retreat as a base for exploring the Bold Coast and Down East.
