Ce charmant chalet rustique est sur Six Mile Lake, prÚs de Machias, Maine, environ 7 miles de l'océan. Il est parfait pour une retraite tranquille loin des gens, le trafic, la pollution, et de nombreux attributs de la vie moderne.

S'il vous plaĂźt noter que ceci est un hors-rĂ©seau complĂštement, cabine de saison (Mai-Octobre). Il ne possĂšde pas de plomberie intĂ©rieure, l'eau courante, ni Ă©lectricitĂ©. Il possĂšde une cuisine assez bien Ă©quipĂ©e avec un bassin Ă  l'ancienne Ă©vier, d'un rĂ©frigĂ©rateur au propane, et, d'un four alimentĂ© au propane et poĂȘle classique. Il est la plus attrayante pour les randonneurs, les campeurs et les gens qui aiment la paix et la solitude de l'extĂ©rieur. Il possĂšde 250 pieds de (privĂ©) avec façade maritime, et quand vous ĂȘtes assis sur le quai, vous aurez la vie privĂ©e presque complĂšte.

S'il vous plaßt noter que nous sommes 'vieille école' un peu quand il vient à réserver notre cabine. Nous tenons à avoir des contacts avec les clients potentiels par téléphone ou par e-mail avant d'accepter une réservation. Ceci est pour aider à assurer qu'il n'y ait pas de malentendus concernant les caractéristiques et le manque de commodités classiques rustiques de la cabine.

Les chiens de toute taille ou le type sont les bienvenus Ă  la cabane et auront beaucoup d'espace pour se promener sans laisse. Il ya seulement une autre cabine situĂ©e n'importe oĂč prĂšs de la nĂŽtre, mais il est Ă  peine visible de notre place, et il est rarement utilisĂ©.

Nous ne facturons pas de frais supplémentaires pour les chiens, de bois de chauffage, ou pour l'utilisation de notre canot.

This is a wonderful place to say whether in Summer or Winter. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. As we stayed in Winter the lake was frozen over and we felt like the only people in the world.

We loved the cabin, very clean and cozy, wood burning stove was great, it's location the fire pit and the canoe, the neighborhood was great for walking. This house lives up to its billing and reviews.  The isolation- even from neighbors- was wonderful, and the cabin quite comfortable.  Everything was nice and new.  We were impressed with the size of the kitchen, and were able to cook some elaborate meals.  The one night we didn't have cloud cover the sky was mind-blowing.  Even though the house is 500 road miles from our home, it's likely we'll come back.

Peaceful Escape

Not only is the cabin gorgeous but the location and the property could not be better for a quiet escape in the woods. The pups loved swimming in the lake. The star viewing is also unmatched. The whole experience is perfect.

First of all, Anne was very prompt in all communications and offered guidance for our stay. The cabin was just amazing! We stayed 4 nights with our dog and we loved every minute of it! The cabin is totally renovated and everything is new and has anything you need! It is pristine and provides such warmth the minute you open the door! It is in the wilderness overlooking a beautiful lake and the tranquility provides for memories of a lifetime!

Terrific Camp Experience

Great private location with very comfortable and clean camp. Gravel access road might be a challenge for someone with a car that has low clearance, but it added to the remote feel and we didn’t have any issues with our Subaru. The host was great and everything was as advertised. The family really enjoyed mornings and evenings by the water’s edge and hanging out on the deck. The lake was quiet and a fantastic place to paddle without the worry of speeding boats.

Perfect cabin

The cabin was all it was advertised. The new remodel was flawless. The location was quiet, secluded and beautiful. The falling leaves were a constant source of entertainment. This cabin has set the bar very high for my future rentals. This property is outstanding.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this secluded lakefront cabin in Machias, ME, and it was nothing short of magical! This cozy, dog-friendly retreat was the perfect escape, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. The 250 feet of private lakefront on the undeveloped end of the lake offered breathtaking views, especially from the cabin’s deck where we sipped coffee each morning. The provided canoe was a highlight- the serene lake, soaking in the tranquility and spotting wildlife.The cabin itself is impeccably maintained, with a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking anniversary dinners a breeze. The fireplace added such a warm, romantic ambiance, and we loved that our pup could have joined us without any hassle. The loft with twin beds was perfect for extra guests, and the “ship’s ladder” added a fun, quirky touch. With 600 square feet, the space felt just right—cozy yet spacious enough for comfort.The location is ideal, just 7 miles from the ocean, and we enjoyed day trips to Bad Little Falls Park (only a 10-minute drive) and Roque Bluffs State Park, where the beach was stunning. Free parking made exploring easy, and having a washer and dryer was a game-changer for our week-long stay. Everything about this cabin screamed thoughtfulness, from the peaceful surroundings to the little details that made us feel right at home. We’re already planning our next visit—10/10, absolutely exceptional!

Absolutely Perfect

My wife and I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this little cabin in the woods. The freshly renovated cabin felt cozy and had all the necessities to make us feel at home during our week stay. The setting of the cabin is breathtaking with a remote lake about 100 feet from the cabin. We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and fishing in the lake and didn’t see another person on it during our entire stay. It was the perfect setting for our Maine vacation. Our only regret is not renting it a few more days.

UTV getaway!!

Our host Anne, was very accommodating and pleasant. We had and issue with the lock box apon arriving and Anne was quick to respond. The location offered solace and convenience. We were able to fish off shore, and caught a couple brookies. It was pet friendly and safe. Our 4-legged "girl" was comfortable there. Very private lot with a beautiful view. We road the Sunrise trail, which was close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..

Anne is originally from Manchester, Maine, and Nathan is originally from Northern Michigan. Anne taught English as a Second Language at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 18 years after spending 3 years teaching English in Japan. Since 2016 she has worked for the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati as Executive Director. Nathan is a professional actor (stage, film, television, and radio) and carpenter. They live in Cincinnati with Sunnie, a Bernese Mountain Dog born in November 2023. They spend several weeks at their cabin each year and enjoy sharing it with like-minded people who appreciate Maine's beautiful and remote landscapes.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

The North Coast region of Maine is often overlooked because it is remote and not as developed as other coastal areas to the south. We consider the area's remoteness a plus. There is very little traffic, noise, air or light pollution, and yet the region still offers everything one really needs in terms of supplies and essential services. Our end of the lake is quiet and relatively undeveloped. The use of powerboats on the lake is restricted, so it's very good for canoeing and kayaking. The fishing can be good in the spring and early summer.

The cabin is very private and is located at the north end of Six Mile Lake in the town of Marshfield, Maine, approximately 10 minutes from Machias (pop. 2,500). When you're there, you will see very few people outside of occasional kayakers. It's quiet and clean, completely free of air and light pollution. The star gazing is excellent.

There is excellent hiking along wooded, coastal trails approximately 30 minutes north of the cabin. This area is known as the "Bold Coast." It's relatively undeveloped and uncrowded, even in peak summer months. You can download a free map from a local non-profit organization (see address below).
