Ce chalet sur pilotis est la parfaite escapade! À quelques mĂštres de la riviĂšre Tuckasegee mais Ă©galement Ă  proximitĂ© de la ville, cette retraite est parfaite pour les groupes qui cherchent Ă  se faire une vĂ©ritable idĂ©e de l'atmosphĂšre de la montagne. The property is kind of shabby, doors delaminating, mirror edges worn. The couch was very uncomfortable with springs you could feel when you sat down. Shouldn’t have to strip the beds and start laundry when paying that much.

The Cabin was very clean and the creek was so peaceful! The only thing I would suggest is to trim down the brush at the driveway so it would be easier to see oncoming traffic when pulling out of the property. Other than that, it was an awesome place to stay!

River Romance Cabin

Loved our stay here. Perfect location on the river. Cabin and hot tub clean. Communicated minor issues that needed to be fixed with company so they could be fixed for the next people. We would stay here again.

Great get away!!!

We loved the location of the cabin. The covered porch on the back was great. The covered shelter by the river was also very nice. We also enjoyed a fire each night and the steps down to the river was wonderful.

Good for outdoor space, don't get your hopes up on anything else.

Grill is great, no toaster, hot tub was not clean and was gross. Oven does not work except for broil, so if you plan to bake something think again. The outside space was excellent. Great outdoor area, good coverage from the rain, nice lighting, nice rocking chairs. Dead bugs were laying around, lots of ants in the kitchen when we walked in and throughout the trip. Going on a fishing trip? Perfect. Wanting 'River Romance'? Think again.

Gross hot tub and beds

We booked this cabin because of the hot tub, when we arrived the hot tub was on, however the water smelled like mildew and there was a nasty film on top of the water. We called twice about it and were told that they would have have someone come out to check the PH and possibly add chemicals, no one came. So we were unable to use. The beds had stains and the pillows were so flat and gross; we went a bought some from the local store and then just left them there for the next renters. Cabin had a smell as if there might have been water damage at some point. We left a day early and got a hotel room. Not the bear experience .

Old house with great river access

This house is old, and it feels it: creaky, drafty, and tight fits throughout (bigger folks will NOT enjoy the toilet). Access to the river, the view from the upper deck, and the quiet area made the house issues more bearable, but we will not be back.

Trout fishing trip

Great trip for my husband, my son, and I. Cabin was perfect in both size and location for us to trout fish all day, every day from the yard. Truly enjoyed it. The best part was the location of the cabin and that it was right on the water.

Disappointing

This was a disappointing property. The location is fantastic. It sits right on the Tuckasegee River and is lovely. The deck and hot tub face the river, which is nice. The outdoor picnic shed is right alongside the river and the grill worked great.The cabin itself is old and shows both its age and lack of maintenance. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty. The bedroom ceiling needs work as it seems to have been crudely patched. Drawers were missing in the kitchen. The television in the main room did not work. These are just a few of the more notable things. Everything inside shows its age. Just suffers from a lack of care and attention.Overall this property wastes a lot of potential. Would not stay here again without significant repairs and updates.

Wonderful location

This is our 2nd stay at this home. The location on the river is amazing. The last time we we there it was spring. Although the fishing was better in spring we really enjoyed being able to swim to cool off. My husband actually fished while standing in the river. The inside of the house was clean. However, the porch area where we mostly hung out was a bit dusty with pollen and spider webs. I wiped everything down so we could enjoy it more. The bed was comfy and clean. I was looking for an extra flat sheet to put on the couch. However, the 2nd bedroom bed only had fitted sheets on it. We grilled outside, while the grill was small the propane was full and was fine for our needs. The driveway is a little tough getting in and out of. However, the location makes it all worth while. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

Nice cabin

Nice older cabin. Location was good. The cabin is not stocked well. Be sure to ask if it has what you might need or just bring everything you may need to have. If you enjoy fishing, you will like this place.

We called the management the first night to have someone come out and fix it. No one showed until the day of leaving. It was 85 in the house the whole stay. We was not comfortable. But other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Awesome!

Exactly as described and portrayed. And exactly what we were looking for. Just the two of us so didn’t need a lot of space. Perfect location to hit the Tail of the Dragon and Cherokee on motorcycle. Awesome restaurants and shops nearby but not as packed as the Smokies and other locations. Awesome!!
