SituĂ© dans la gorge sauvage et pittoresque de la montagne Grand-PĂšre de Wilson's Creek. Le BML est trĂšs isolĂ© par les forĂȘts nationales de Pisgah, mais Ă  seulement 13-18 milles de Blowing Rock, Linville Falls ou Grandfather Mountain. Nous sommes Ă©quipĂ©s WiFi. le
La gorge du ruisseau Wilson est Ă  1/2 mi de la maison et est remplie de truites. Nous avons des sentiers derriĂšre la maison avec vue sur GFM et les cascades et sommes proches du dĂ©but du sentier des chutes Harper Creek. Nous acceptons les animaux, et nous avons une grange de 4 chevaux pour les invitĂ©s qui souhaitent amener leurs chevaux. Le parc de vĂ©hicules tout-terrain de Brown Mountain est Ă  seulement 9 miles de la maison si vous souhaitez apporter votre VTT. Les enfants peuvent louer des tubes pour flotter dans la gorge ou pĂȘcher dans l'Ă©tang Ă  truites au magasin de campagne de Betsy. Excellentes excursions aux chutes de Linville, au viaduc de Linn Cove, au mont Grandfather, au parc de Table Rock et Ă  Blowing Rock pour faire du shopping et de bons restaurants. Jeff was super nice and accommodating. While the cabin was a little older it was still very nice and well appointed. The nature in the area was absolutely stunning despite some areas being closed due to last years storm damage. I enjoyed the short stories authored by the host. They had a very personal and authentic feeling with a pleasant descriptive presentation and just the right level of nostalgia. Brown Mountain Lodge is to be highly recommended as a special place with a special location.

Beautiful property and access to water. Very suitable for someone in a wheelchair to enjoy views and listening to the creek. It was so peaceful and private. We all absolutely loved the place. There was a hiking trailhead right by the driveway. I will def be staying here again! I'm wanting to return when it snows!

We came from Florida looking for a secluded mountain experience. We were NOT disappointed. The property alone was worth the trip. Massive property. With hiking trails to waterfalls right behind the house. The oroperty itself... is def a more rustic cabin. With all yhr amenities you need. We brought 2 smaller dogs and the property was perfect for them and my 2 kids as well. Plenty to explore. We loved the stream running thru the property and an actual waterfall right down a few stairs. A great place to swim and have late night bon fires at. We will def. Be back! The little general store was a life saver for a quick snack and fire wood. It wasnt an issue or anything but it is some serious mountain driving if you want to go to sugar mountain or blowing rock. We did the drive twice to see snow and snow tube. Was def worth it. Was about an hour... to get there. Just some curvy roads. Ha

I can’t say enough. Awesome creek in the front of the property. Very secluded and private. Large master bedroom and kitchen. Great deck overlooking the creek for camp fires. Hiking trail behind the house. We will definitely stay here again.

A fantastic remote cabin

The cabin was amazing, it had all sorts of hidden features. 10 miles down a dirt road to get there though. We hope to be back, highly recommend.

The house was exactly as described. Way off the beaten path but that's what we were looking for. The weather was perfect, the outdoor pond and waterfall were perfect for exploring for both young and old. Just a wonderful time.

Great cabin for a weekend

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. everything was ready for our stay. Kitchen, bathrooms are fully equipped. It was loaded with all the conveniences and we were away from the hustle and bustle of being in town. Also, if you have any questions, just call Jeff directly. Very attractive and comfortable. Very relaxing!

Quite peaceful setting had everything we needed. Was nice to have all the extras such as hairdryer, towels, extra blankets. Has coffee maker with pot and k cup. Plenty of pots and pans. Hope to go back in summertime, the creek is fantastic!

Serene ladies trip

Great house, nice quiet location to unplug. The house had plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 teens. We enjoyed hiking around the property. The pictures don’t do the waterhole and steam at the property justice, we loved playing in the water. Also it was easy enough for my 72 year old mother to navigate. We loved the covered porch for the afternoon summer storms, grilling every night, and the fire pit for smores. There was a hiccup with check in but Jeff was quick to respond and resolve. Kitchen was well appointed for our stay. We brought all the food and drinks we needed as we didn’t plan to leave the property. Tap water was delicious! Some other reviews made the gravel drive in sound scary, but it was a well maintained road, no large elevation changes so scary areas. Just drive slow and enjoy the water that runs along the last 9 miles. Our 15yo with her learners permit was just fine driving. We would 100% stay at this property again!

The property is in a great location, with a small river right outside your front door

While the property location was nice, we lost hot water for a day and a half when it seems like the pipes froze during this crazy winter storm that came through. There are plenty of space heaters in the house so it was easy to stay warm. It has a great porch with a nice outside fire place.

No distractions except the sound of the creek and falls below the deck.

Good trip to decompress from COVID stress and not have cell service. It was great not being able to look at your phone.

Beautiful

Large property with private water fall and creek running though the yard, plus hiking trails right from the back door. My two German Shepards dogs love playing in the water fall running around free, coming back again. Love it.

The original owners had incredible vision even back in the 50's to build such a unique and beautiful home they called 'The Hideaway'. They constructed a 12 ft steel water wheel down on the creek that was beautiful. When we bought the home we wanted to restore the property and water wheel to its grandeur and make it even better to share with folks that love the mountains. My wife and I invite you to experience the vacation cabin rental that you will always remember the good times with your family. We re-named the hideaway to the Brown Mountain Lodge. Our goal is to provide one of the best family oriented vacation and cabin rentals in the Boone and Blowing Rock NC area.

In 2007 I wrote a true short ghost story about the adventures my brother and I have experienced in the Brown Mountain Area. The book is a collection of and titled '13 Terrifying Tales from the North Carolina Piedmont'. A copy of the book and pictures to document my tales as well as other books about the area are in the Lodge for your reading pleasure around the campfire. This book is published by Lorimer Press and is available at Barnes and Noble and other bookstores in the region.

We admired and dreamed about owning this home as a kids and when the opportunity presented itself we made it happen. The Brown Mountain area and Wilson Creek Gorge is off the beaten path and has been undiscovered for years. People are finding out about it now since the River was designated a Wild and Scenic River in 2004. If your looking for a private paradise pet friendly vacation home in a secluded Mountain setting with beautiful streams, waterfalls and River Gorge then you just found it.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

BML is a multi level home with 3 BR's, the living area and kitchen are comfy and set up for family fun and enjoying the home. We have WiFi and HiDef TV for staying connected with the world. Guests really enjoy our outdoor living area with fireplace, grills and swings that looks over the creek. Right up behind the house are terrific trails that we have views of on our web site.
