The Home Awaits

I’m so very sorry the responsibility for something you damaged Sophia had to come to this but at the risk of you trying to shame me Sophia for no good reason is unfortunate. In the end, I guess it truly does come down to dollars and cents and not decency and community between people. So you should know there is so much fictitious statements here not sure where to begin…however, I will try to start from the beginning as best as possible. I take great pride in my home as do most homeowners. The home has been impressively renovated with great care in mind to accommodate business travelers, families..etc. Everything from a custom kitchen, to brand new state of the art appliances, flooring…fully stocked pantry with breakfast items, utensils, coffee, teas…to say the least. Everything in the home was carefully thought of when furnishing. The bathroom on the main level purposely did not have blinds because it is completely private in the very back of the home… so not sure why this was even a point of contention. Additionally, there are night stands in every room. Sophia was not the first guest in my home but sadly I opened my doors to her. Sophia had contacted me to inform me that her son had a pee accident in my double pillow top queen air mattress, which was unfortunate but it happens which is why there is in fact a security deposit. She had offered to send me an air mattress she had in her home. Because I take great responsibility to ensure any new guest is surrounded by a clean, safe non-toxic environment, I could not in good conscious as a host accept what she was willing to send to me. For two reasons, I could not confirm whether it was brand new and sanitized first and foremost. And or, whether the mattress was of greater or equal value. That would not be fair to anyone new looking to use the air mattress to rest their head. When I shared with Sophia that I would be removing the cost of the damaged air mattress she became hostile and started to tell me the air mattress was not worth $200. Bare in mind, I only charged her for the queen air mattress not the pump which is far more expensive. I was in the home the day prior to Sophia’s arrival and everything including the coffee maker was fully functional. Sophia managed to break the coffee maker as well but I never charged her for it. The home was left completely filthy with grime and food stains everywhere. Yes we take a cleaning fee, however, when someone opens up their home to you, you expect it to be delivered back the same way it was given to you. Meticulously clean. In the end, when a homeowner or guest is damaged the responsible thing to do is make that person whole. I’m fair and would never take what isn’t mine but I was damaged and needed to somehow recover my damages. In the end this review comes out of Sophia not wanting to pay for the damages I incurred as a homeowner. I would never recommend renting to Sophia. She takes no care or regard for your property!!! Clearly she has no clue what high quality air mattresses cost or integrity on how you should return someone’s home back to them!!!
