With four dogs between us and hectic work schedules, there was always an excuse. We finally planned this escape and I was fearful. To our surprise, the cabin was absolutely perfect! Our dogs loved it as much as we did. In fact, we booked a full week in November in the same cabin. Thanks to Julie and Tara for helping create the perfect place for such amazing memories!

A Cottage at Riverside Review

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is very nice to stay in. It has a very large treed fenced in dog yard on one side an a nice tree lot on the other. The Ellijay River is beautiful and the property is right on it. You can go in the water with a bit of some root steps down. We had large dogs that just jumped down onto the shore of the River. No root steps needed for them. I recommend wearing some type of water shoe going down the roots. The roots are not sharp so don't worry about that.The road to get to the many Sliding Rock Cabin rentals is typical of mountain roads. Mostly a gravel/dirt road with pavement going down a very steep hill by the cabin. The road can be very narrow in some spots where only 1 car can get by. I refused to drive it because it's not something I was comfortable with so I left the driving out and in to my husband. That road is about 1.5 miles.You will be blessed with passing through the most beautiful covered bridge. Trucks have to take the creek entrance to the right.I recommend it and taking a trip to hike the approach trail to the Appalachian Trail in Amicalola State Park and a hike at Fort Mountain both nearby.We hated leaving.

Peaceful cabin on the river

The road in is a little bumpy and narrow but not really a problem. As soon as you drive up to the cabin, you can hear the constant flow of the river. It's so nice sitting down by the river or on the porch, especially if it rains. The cabin it self is a little on the dark side but very cute and clean. Loved the rocking recliners. We were able keep the front door open because there is a screen door, so we could always listen to the river. And the large fenced yard is great for the dog, along with other dog amenities. The cabin is in a good location between Ellijay and Blue Ridge. The only "problem" the property manager (not VRBO) did not respond to a text regarding an issue (not an emergency). Would definitely recommend!!

Little Piece of Heaven

We truly enjoyed the cabin. It was a very relaxing time away from the stresses of our everyday lives. Never been to a property so dog welcoming. We enjoyed the sounds of the river too. Was wonderful.

The location was beautiful beyond belief- instant relaxation as soon as we rounded the corner to the back of the cabin and heard the water from the river. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well stocked with essentials. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog to play in. The roads in were well maintained and manageable even for a couple of flat road Floridians! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! We can't wait to return to A Cottage At Riverside.

Secluded Winter Getaway

We really loved walking through the front door and being welcomed by a lit Christmas tree and Christmas music playing! The only thing we wish is that the cabin had a dishwasher; but it had everything else and more! Traveling the last mile or so to the cabin was a bit challenging at first, but got easier the more we drove it. Local neighbors were friendly and even decorated trees in the woods! Thank you for setting the stage for a very memorable and peaceful vacation for us!

Perfect weekend getaway!

The cabin was very easy access to both Ellijay and Blue Ridge. We had a wonderful time at the Apple Festival in Ellijay, and enjoyed walking around and exploring all of the shops in Blue Ridge. We were so very pleased with Sliding Rock Cabins. This is our second time staying with them and we will definitely be back again!

We loved hearing the birds and the river, and seeing the deer in the woods. The property was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. We also had fun exploring the nearby attractions, such as the Amicalola Falls, Carter's Lake, and Reece's Orchard. We had a great time and hope to come back soon.
