Kayak de notre plage! Situé dans la belle ville de Westsound, à 5 minutes du ferry, chalet en cèdre récemment rénové avec vue partielle sur l’eau. West Sound Marina se trouve à quelques pas de la rue pour amarrer un bateau et / ou utiliser le service aérien de Kenmore. L'accès public sur le rivage offre une plage de peignage, de pêche aux coques et de voile. Le club nautique d'Orcas Island se trouve juste à côté et propose des cours de voile d'été pour enfants dans le port. Détendez-vous dans l'air frais du soir en profitant de l'ambiance charmante du foyer au propane. De plus, spa flambant neuf pour six personnes! Profitez de la faune et de la flore abondantes d’aigles, de cerfs, d’oies, de paons et de lapins et bien d’autres encore qui peuplent cette région. Les familles aimeront jouer dans la grande cour. Confortable et isolé pour un couple ou une petite famille, mais avec des dortoirs et des salles à manger pour six personnes. Style traditionnel charmant, confortable et parfait pour le séjour des orques de votre groupe. Vues magnifiques et espaces extérieurs, foyer au gaz, barbecue, grand bain à remous, 55 pouces TV avec / 5. 1 surround. Peut accueillir jusqu'à 6 personnes, 2 chambres (2 lits queen), plus un lit gigogne confortable sur une véranda privée et ensoleillée. Ping-pong dans le garage de la salle de jeux. Grande cour avec des pommes, des poires et des pruniers pour des repas délicieux en saison. Service de café / thé est fourni, tous les articles de toilette et produits de blanchisserie. Really enjoyed the location and cabin feel. We enjoyed our meal al fresco which which was really nice. The host was friendly with the check-in process and had some great suggestions for lunch in town.

Host was supper friendly and provided an alternate when hot tub was being cleaned. Very nice of him. We had a great time at the house and elsewhere on Orcas Island. Kitchen was well stocked. We'll go there again.

The Cedar Orchard Cabin is an absolutely amazing property on Orcas Island! To be very upfront, we did have a slight hiccup upon our check-in. We contacted the host, John, and he arrived at the property very quickly and hustled to make the situation right. At the time, it was a little frustrating, but looking back, John did make things right and we were still able to enjoy the evening. Thank you John. Cedar Orchard Cabin has an amazing view of West Sound. The location is great for a homebase to explore the island and all that it has to offer. A great back yard to enjoy the sunset under the gazebo by a fire. Space for the dogs. It is a peaceful and very well equipped property for all ages. We did not get to enjoy the property to it's fullest, but we will be back. My recommendation is to make your stay at The Cedar Orchard Cabin multi-day to enjoy it to its fullest.

Beautiful property with excellent views and a type of farm feel where so many unique things exist including ducks, a 22 year old cat, orchard, kayaks etc. you don’t need to leave the property to have a wonderful time host John is one of coolest guys you will ever meet.

Orcas getaway

We had a great stay at the cabin and especially liked the ping pong table and hot tub! Great location -- close to the ferry and town. John was a gracious host who provided clear instructions on how to get to the property (and also to navigate the ferry, which was particularly helpful!) and made himself available for any questions we might have had.

The home is on a nice piece of property with a large patio with a fire pit and hot tub and BBQ. The two bedroom home has one bathroom, a sun room, living room and well equipped kitchen. John, the owner is very responsive if there are issues. That’s a ping pong table and washer dryer. It’s about 12 minutes from the ferry.

Amazing Experience

This is a beautiful cottage stocked with every amenity you might need. Plenty of extra linens, paper products, basic toiletries, etc that are not always provided but that make vacation so much more stress free. John made the entire process, from check-in throughout our entire stay, so seamless, and he made it clear that he was available day or night for any issues that might arise. Definitely one of our best rental experiences ever! If we return to Orcas Island, we will definitely be returning to this cottage!!

Rustic Retreat with all the Amenities

It's not a fancy place, but it has everything you might need for a lovely stay on Orcas. Vibrant gardens full of hummingbirds, your choice of patios depending on the time of day, great grill, and a resident pair of peacocks who visit every evening. How many places have you stayed with a house rule that says "do not feed the peacocks"? Lovely escape.

The location of the cabin is great! It didn’t take us long to get to the popular are of the downtown area, and some of the sightseeing areas. There’s a nice view of the water from the sunroom and the front side patio of the cabin. We loved the Jacuzzi and the outdoor sitting area. Overall we had a nice stay, but there were some things in the cabin that prevented us from having a great stay. Some small things that can be easily fixed! There was a fair amount of dog hair in the sunroom, the garage where the ping-pong table is located, and unfortunately in the bed of the larger bedroom. The air conditioning, we think it gets overwhelmed easily and just stops working until it has a chance to recover. The cabin can be quite warm, especially in the bedrooms. We couldn’t really open the windows due to no screens. We couldn’t enjoy the garage where the ping-pong table is located due to the overwhelming smell. We knew the cabin would be a bit dated, (although appears well maintained), so we attributed the smell to the heat and that fact. However, when we went to wash our towels, we discovered a fair amount (large chunks) of mold in the front load style washer. Then the smell made sense. The towels also have a leftover smell from the washer, not strong but present. If those things can be addressed and fixed, we would totally come back! When we checked in they were super helpful, and gave us some ideas of what to do and let us know that if we needed anything to give them a call.

Beautiful, relaxing property.

My adult kids and I had a wonderful time at this well cared for, thoughtfully appointed property. We enjoyed this house, the hot tub, the views, the stars, as well as the comfort of a home that has everything we wanted. John was a great host. This is a favorite that we’ll return to.

John Wachter has lived in Westsound for many years, and also operates his other facility Called Sunburnt Mermaid Cottages next door. The Sunburnt Mermaid property was originally purchased by John's grandfather, a Bellingham jeweler, more than 80 years ago. Over time many fruit trees and shrubs were planted on this fertile, sunny land, and today the estate has apples, plums, peaches, apricots, seabuckthorn, figs, currants, blueberries and raspberries designed by horticulturalist Arthur Koch, as well as medicinal herb garden designed exclusively by Chris Stateham. Recently a fantastic heated pool and spa with outdoor kitchen so guests can enjoy this gorgeous setting and feel the same magic they feel everyday living in paradise. John also enjoys antiques and collecting, and guests can see many vintage items throughout the property
