Another stay in paradise

The condo is perfectedly appointed in a great location. Grocery store, coffee house, new bakery (Pau), and takeout places are all within walking distance. The lanai is the perfect place with its chaise lounges and chairs. The condo vibe is perfect.

Absolutely Lovely Stay

We loved our stay! The property was exactly as advertised. Enjoyed a week of watching sunsets from the beautiful lanai. Watching whales and turtles was daily event from the property. Perfect for relaxing. It was appointed with everything we needed. The location is perfect! Off the busy path, but close enough to everything-restaurants, hikes, stores etc. Hope to stay again.

Left stranded with no place to stay

Owner dropped the ball! We were left stranded, no return message or phone call. Vrbo tried contacting owner with no reply. Sitting in the condo parking lot on the phone with Vrbo trying to find another reservation on the fly after traveling all day. Vrbo took great care of us. I was in tears and have never experienced anything like it when booking. 2 weeks later I received, "an I sorry excuse " of I was sick, my internet was off & my phone was not working. I don't care about your excuses. We paid you and you utterly failed us as a host. It was a fabulous way to start my cancervisary celebration!

Yet another fabulous stay

The property is just as beautiful as I remembered it. It is in an ideal location. Can walk to grocery store and several take-out food options. Short walk to Honokawai State Beach Park. The unit has everything you could need for a wonderful vacation. It is beautifully decorated!

Great condo in a wonderful complex

Hale Mahina is a wonderful complex. Low rise with a small pocket beach providing ocean access, BBQs, a good sized pool, a hot tub and nicely landscaped grounds with plenty of sun loungers to enjoy the awesome view. Casual but classy. It is well placed to easily access supermarkets, stores and all kinds of eating options from 5 star to casual restaurants, bars, excellent takeaways and food trucks, something for every mood. It is also well placed for all West Maui attractions and is an easy drive for day trips all over the island. Sandy’s unit is very nice and is very well placed within the complex to enjoy the 180 degree ocean front view from the third floor, one of the best views in the whole of Hawaii with the sun setting directly in front of the lanai. The condo is larger than most in the area, has a full sized washer/dryer and is equipped with everything you might need. Most of the attractions and facilities in West Maui are open and very welcoming of tourists. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great place!

The pictures don’t do this place justice! Beautiful view from the lanai, comfy living space and big walk-in shower. We had a wonderful stay!

Not So Luxurious

The view is outstanding. The kitchen has been updated and the bathroom has had periodic updating but is dated in style. Old cabinets. Biggest letdown was NO A/C. The unit was unbearable to sit in most of the day due to heat and humidity. The trade winds do nothing to cool off the unit but rather just let more heat and humidity in. This unit NEEDS some a/c for the summer stay. Unit is located at the end (hood) however above the pool and outside grills and tables which is where everyone comes to congregate at night so if you want quiet time, this is not for you (especially from the pool). We booked our stay based on the View and advertised Luxurious remodel. Outside of an average quality updating of the kitchen, nothing was remodeled and definitely not luxurious. By the way, next door has older bungalows with dogs chained up 24/7 and barking all day. We would never book this stay again. With the cost of this unit, there are numerous other higher quality, quiet places to stay that will also provide a/c. Hope this helps the next guy, I wish I had known.

Just Perfect

Wow. Just Wow. The place is utterly perfect. We were blown away by the view when we opened the door. We did not want for anything. We have stayed in several condos in the Honokawai area and this one is the star. Walking distance to the grocery store (great faux chicken salad/dill potato salad/acai bowls), coffee shop, as well as the Honokawai State Beach Park. The unit is very clean, sporting a large lanai with all the different types of lounging chairs (and a chaise!) you could want. The living room is spacious with a beautiful largeTV screen and comfy sofa. A well stocked kitchen (with coffee filters!) that provided everything we needed for a simple meal. Bedroom was quite nice with a strong AC unit and built-in TV for relaxing. Bathroom spacious and lovely. All in all a perfect stay!

Absolutely Perfect In Every Way

This VRBO unit at Hale Mahina was a wonderful experience. The condo was perfectly clean and was furnished with all of the necessities and comforts of home. The lanai offered unobstructed views and, amazingly, we watched Humpback whales breach and turtles coming ashore as we enjoyed the view from the spacious lanai. The proximity to the oceanside beach allowed us to also enjoy the relaxing sounds of the surf. We even managed to get good snorkeling in without having to drive to more popular and crowded beach locations. The host, Sandy, took personal care to ensure our visit and stay in her Maui home met all of our needs and expectations. The caretaker, Larry, ensured the common grounds, pool, hot tub and barbeques were never neglected and his gardens were in spectacular bloom. The visit in one word was 'magical'. Our stay at this VRBO unit exceeded our expectations in every way. We look forward to a return visit soon. Many Mahalos, Sandy!

Ocean front paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandy’s home away from home! The funky vibe fit our taste and made the stay fun. We saw whales spouting from the lanai and turtles swimming below. We even snorkeled 100 yards north of the unit and joined a green sea turtle while he was eating dinner. The location was excellent for enjoying really good snorkeling north of there and all the historical sites nearby. Everything was as expected. Thanks for sharing your Maui home, Sandy!

First time in Maui!

This property was amazing! It had everything we could possibly need for a beach day. We felt like we were at a home away from home, it was so comfortable and everything we needed was provided in the condo. The views from the balcony are amazing! We saw an amazing sunset and even saw whales. The property where the condo is located is very well taken care of. I can not say enough good things about this place. The owner was easy to communicate and very accommodating. We would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

It is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
All the Islands are beautiful, but in my opinion, West Maui has it all!!

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

This is old Hawaii with the advantage of great restaurants, hotels, spas, shopping, golf etc. all nearby.
It is a quiet corner unit that is private, very spacious, and recently beautifully decorated.
Once you arrive, you feel like you live there! The property has two, four story buildings with only 52 units.
It is an intimate setting with a private sandy beach, a beautiful pool, spa and grassy area for BBQs.
The two island sunset view from the large private lanai is stunning and the whale watching November through April is beyond compare!
