The hosts were very nice and welcoming. The place was clean, well equipped and the location worked out well. The only negative was that the toilet was on a separate level from the bedrooms and bath.

Great central location

A comfortable, clean and well stocked apartment in a fantastic location. It easily accommodated our family of 5 and we loved the convenience of being right on the centre. The owners were really helpful and easy to deal with. Would definately stay there again.

Beautiful home in an excellent location. Paid off-site parking nearby. Having the host present to check in and out was unusual for a VRBO stay and took some of the freedom/flexibility out of our travel leading up to our arrival.

This is a fabulous property in the lovely town of Leiden. The owner was very helpful and communicative which added to the experience. Only comments would be it’s worth noting there is a spiral staircase to access the property - lots of character but tricky to navigate big cases plus it’s on a Main Street - quietens down in the later evening but quite lively early on - overall thoroughly recommended

The apartment was exactly as described. The rooms were very large and the beds were comfortable. The laundry was a perfect touch as we didn't have to pack too much. Sabine is very friendly and responds quickly. The large bathtub was fantastic to have after a long day exploring the town.

Our stay in Leiden at this VRBO was absolutely lovely! It was as photographed and very clean. It is located on a quieter (but not completely quiet) portion of a busy shopping street. The surrounding neighborhood is lovely with numerous shops, restaurants, a nearby grocery, etc. It is easy to get around by walking and public transit, no car needed! The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom has both a bathtub and a relaxing rain shower. We did have a small issue at check in where the VRBO app gave us instructions to the wrong address, so if you reserve this VRBO be sure to use the address in the message from the host! Overall, I loved this VRBO and would reserve again on my next trip to Leiden.

Pleasantly Surprised

We loved the location! The property owners, Sabine & Martin communicated well and were very friendly. The apartment itself was modern but allowed the history to shine through. It was clean, bright and spacious. Very comfortable beds that made for a great night sleep each evening. All the amenities provided made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Didn’t want to leave.

Review

Location and overall set up was fantastic. We were able to walk most everywhere we wanted to go in Leiden. The suite could use some extra blankets, face cloths, and information about the neighbourhood and Leiden (map, interact locations, bike rentals, how to use the TV). The spiral stairs leading to the second floor are in need of repair or replacement as the handrail is so close to the wall that it's unusable. Overall, we loved our stay.

Perfect Location and Spacious Apartment

Sabine was the perfect hostess! She accommodated our early arrival by letting us drop our luggage off and even arrive early. Sabine walked us in detail through everything and the town of Leiden itself. The apartment is in an excellent location to really see and do all that Leiden has to offer (which is a lot). We fell in love with the town and the apartment and would absolutely come back and stay again. 3 of us stayed and there was more than enough space. For Europe it was quite large. Miss it already!!!

A very enjoyable stay

The accommodation is in a great location within the delightful town of Leiden with easy transport access to Amsterdam, Delft and Kerkenhof and beyond. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and provided information as and when we needed it and respected our privacy. The apartment is well equipped, spacious, warm and comfortable. The two spiral staircases and toilet on the floor below the bedrooms was not ideal for us being older in our 70's and one with a dodgy knee but we managed. The accommodation description had been very clear about this and so it had been our choice.I did send a message via vrbo to the hosts to suggest bed heads for the single bedded room as the top of the beds do not butt up against a wall and my pillow kept falling off but I'm not sure if they received it.Altogether a very enjoyable stay of six nights.

Apartment is clean, well-appointed and comfortable. Host is communicative and helpful. Location is excellent - close to old city, shops, and transportation without being too noisy. A few minor notes:- Listing is ambiguous about the ground floor space (pictured as "living area"); this isn't part of the apartment. Not really a problem but listing should be clear.- In typical Dutch fashion: Spiral stairs (from ground to 1st and 1st to 2nd) are steep and can be difficult to navigate. Only toilet is on 1st floor while bedrooms and bath/shower on second floor. - We stayed during an unusual heat wave and second floor was sometimes very warm. In normal conditions it would be fine.Overall a nice place and good value. Would stay again.

Last but not least: Sabine ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Vielen Dank an Dich.

Fantastic location, immaculate spacious apartment

This place is a gem! Perfect location, 20 min walk to the Saturday Market in the heart of the centre. 5 min walk to a cheap parking garage (16 euro / 24 hours). The apt is in the first and second floor. Immaculate and it has all you need. Sabine was very punctual, welcoming and helpful. All in all myself and my friends had a good stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
