This was a standout rental. It has exceptional views; a roomy, comfortable and historic interior; an unusually clear, clean and quiet lake; and kind, responsive hosts. All day you are treated to a commanding panorama of the lake and mountains, visible from the lawn and multiple picture windows. You get there on a longish dirt driveway from the paved valley road below to the house on the top of the hill, but that's what entitles you to such knockout views. The house has excellent amenities--including all of the kitchen items you would ever want, plenty of interesting books on the shelves, various board games, very comfortable furniture (chairs, sofas and beds), a fireplace, a well developed laundry room. a potent shower, and a variety of boating options down at the dock.If you like swimming, this is the place for you. It is one of the best spots in the state and New England region for weed-free, peaceful swims. At most, we occasionally saw a motorboat far away and not going very fast. The community provides a lot for visitors. In Greensboro there is a gourmet restaurant at the nearby lodge, a farm with tasty homemade ice cream, a large general store, an interesting historical society, and an arts center. Nearby Hardwick has very good dining options, a food co-op and supermarket, and a shop with varied bike rentals. Cycling in the area is top-notch, especially on the scenic back roads.Kyle and other Gray family members were friendly and supportive.
