Gorgeous Mountain View Ă  13 km de Appalachian Trail

Retraite au sommet d'une montagne calme avec de superbes vues sur la montagne. À quelques minutes de la pĂȘche Ă  la truite, du golf, du ski sur neige, du sentier des Appalaches, du lac Watauga, du Banner Elk, de la gastronomie et plus encore. Mountain Living n'est pas mieux que ça. Vous serez Ă  moins de trois kilomĂštres du parc d'État de Roan Mountain, situĂ© sur l'autoroute TN 143, au pied du majestueux Roan Mountain de 6285 pieds, qui abrite le plus grand jardin naturel de rhododendrons au monde et offre une vue panoramique sur les montagnes (voir http: // www. roanmountain. com). Au bas de la montagne, trĂšs proche de notre propriĂ©tĂ©, Roan Mountain State Park englobe plus de 2000 acres dominĂ©s par une riche forĂȘt de feuillus le long de crĂȘtes accidentĂ©es. La riviĂšre Doe fraĂźche et claire serpente Ă  travers le centre du parc et abrite une population saine de truites. Les activitĂ©s du parc d'État vous attendent, y compris la piscine chauffĂ©e, le terrain de volley-ball, les courts de tennis et de basket-ball, les randonnĂ©es guidĂ©es par les Rangers, la pĂȘche Ă  la mouche sur la riviĂšre Doe, la musique / les spectacles dans l'amphithĂ©Ăątre, etc. (voir https: // tnstateparks. com / parcs / roan-mountain) Carvers Gap Trailhead pour le sentier des Appalaches est Ă  quelques minutes.

Notre maison de montagne construite sur mesure en 2017 offre une vue imprenable sur les montagnes et un étang alimenté par une source. Il y a un vaste pont couvert. Planchers de bois et de tuiles avec plan d'étage ouvert. La cuisine est trÚs spacieuse avec un grand ßlot et une vue sur les montagnes. Il y a une chambre principale à chaque étage. Chaque maßtre a une buanderie et une salle de bain complÚte. Le systÚme de chauffage est un plancher radiant avec thermostats dans chaque chambre.

Veuillez noter que la partie supĂ©rieure de notre route de gravier est raide et peut ĂȘtre difficile pour certains vĂ©hicules et charges. Nous vous recommandons de venir dans un vĂ©hicule Ă  quatre roues motrices ou Ă  quatre roues motrices, surtout par mauvais temps.

We truly had a wonderful time with family at the house. They had it beautifully decorated upon arrival and made sure we were warm and cozy! Our only issue was the WIFI dropping so much and being on the slow side, but they have Starlink now so I'm sure no one else will have a problem. House was nicely situated, and we had plenty of room to move about. Driveway can be a doozy with snow and ice but since it stayed on the warmer side within days of arrival, so we had no issues with that either. Alan is a wonderful host, and I am grateful for all he did to accommodate us!

The cabin was very clean and large. It is great for a large family. Plenty of room to hang out. The deck had amazing views of the mountains.

The hosts were amazing from start to finish. They were up front before the acceptance of the booking about the need for a 4WD vehicle. The home was immaculate and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a seclided beautiful mountain home to rent.

Beautiful Getaway

We stopped at Roan Mountain for two nights to end our vacation and we loved this cabin! We only wish we could have stayed longer. The location was beautiful and the cabin was comfortable and well stocked. The views were gorgeous!

Beautiful Autumn Weekend

This cabin is perfect. Lots of sleeping spaces, plenty of bathrooms, large kitchen, movies and books, beautiful views! The place is spotlessly clean. It is very near our “ancestral home” so is just what we needed. The colors of the trees and the weather was just beautiful!

Great hosts!

Really nice cabin with all the amenities! One of the most beautiful views I’ve ever had staying in a cabin and I’ve stayed in many being from the mountains of East Tennessee myself! I have to also say that the hosts are by far the sweetest hosts and most caring about our comfort. Thank you!

Beautiful

This is a wonderful place to stay, and was centrally located to many great visiting sites. The house was clean, well stocked and a very comfortable place to stay, and the views from the deck were beautiful. The hosts were great and communicative. As others have mentioned, the road is best suited to a mid to small AWD SUV or an AWD car. I was in a 3/4 ton truck, and it was more difficult for me than my friends in their SUV.

The home and surrounding area are beautiful! Alan gave very thorough instructions and checked on us via vrbo. They had everything we needed there. The view is amazing from the picture windows and porch. There are many amazing things to do within 20 to 60 minutes away. Would absolutely stay here again. You do have to go up the driveway carefully but is well worth it. There was plenty of room and they had everything there that we needed.

Spectacular view

My husband and I stayed in this home while hiking in the area. The home was far more than we needed with one bedroom on the main floor and the other bedrooms with bathrooms upstairs. It is a great set up for multiple families or couples. The drive is steep, but our Acura MDX was able to do it without difficulty. Watch for deer as you drive as you are likely to see them on the way to the house. Very short drive from Carvers Gap and Roan Mt State Park.

Wonderful location and property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pictures do not do this beautiful new property and gorgeous view any justice! Alan communicates very quickly and is a gracious host. The place is very remote and quiet. The last few hills leading to the house are very hard for a regular car to climb so if you don't have a 4-wheeler prepare for a short but strenuous hike. We did not mind it but a person who is not in good shape may not be able to do so. There are plenty of trails around the area and Alan has some spare maps in the house. When not hiking, we stayed on the porch all day enjoying the view. We highly recommend the Smoky Mountain Bakers which has a great stone oven pizza (and pastries).

Beautiful View and quiet

The Family and friends as well as I loved everything about this house. I would love to stay there in the summer as we went for New Year and the first time snowing Tubing. The place was clean, and quiet and had everything you would want for a mountain stay. It is a steep climb but typical mountain terrain. My Suburban did the climb in two-wheel but I know how to drive the terrain and if you're not accustomed use 4 or all-wheel drive so you don't mess up the road. I would highly recommend this house if your willing to treat it with respect as it deserves that at the very least. The area is great for anything you want to do and if you just want to stay home it is great for that too!

Amazing Property Off the Beaten Path

We were looking for a place with a view that could accommodate 5 adults, and this location did not disappoint! It was as out-of-the-way as you could get. And, yes, you really do need 4-wheel-drive to make it up the driveway. The amenities were exactly what we were looking for. There were enough plates, pans, serving dishes, and utensils for us to serve our Thanksgiving dinner. I personally loved the radiant heat floor, and I now know what feature to look for in my future home. It was amazing that there were so many windows to watch the sunrise. I would love to see the view in the spring, summer, and fall. I'm sure it's spectacular. The nearby hiking and state park conference center with wifi were great perks. I wish we had more time to explore the area. If we ever meet my parents about halfway again, this is where we will stay. Alan was so communicative, and made sure everything was great throughout our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better host! Our best VRBO pick to date! Easy check in and very easy check out. Thank you!

Beautiful location

We stayed here July 4 weekend, 2020. The view from the house is exactly as the picture shows: it's beautiful! We even watched some fireworks going off down in the valley. Another great surprise: the fireflies! Thousands of them in the woods around the house, coming out just as dusk is settling in. I knew this part of the country is known for fireflies, but I didn't expect that many! The location of the house is right in the middle of all the key park locations. We were just a few minutes from pretty much all the sights we wanted to see in Roan Mountain State Park. But be aware that this part of TN is fairly remote, so plan to bring your food in and cook. Going out to eat isn't really a viable option without a long drive. The house itself is only a few years old, and is well-kept and clean. The kitchen was pretty well appointed, and we had everything we needed to cook. Appliances were new and in good condition. The beds were all well-kept and clean. Linens were provided. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all perfectly fine. One note: there is no air conditioning in the house. As people who live in the Deep South, the very first thing we look for upon entering any building in July is the A/C setting. :) But once we opened the windows and got the fans going, even in July, the house cooled down and it even got a bit chilly at night. If A/C is an absolute must for you, then know that as of July, 2020, it is not there. But we found that it truly wasn't a necessity with highs in upper 70's to low 80's, relatively little humidity, and lows in the lower 60's, during our trip. I'd probably want it if the forecast calls for hotter than that, but it wasn't a problem for us on this trip. Another word of advice: when the owner says you need a 4-wheel drive (4WD) to get up the driveway, he isn't joking around! That beautiful view comes with a price: a steep climb up the driveway. If you don't have 4WD, then the best you can do is park halfway up the drive, then walk the rest of the way. If you do have 4WD, then when you make the left into the driveway, put it in 4-Low, and give it plenty of gas and lots of RPMs! It's a fun ride, but you sure don't want to stall out in the middle of it. The owner was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of our questions in a timely manner and was very helpful with guidance on places to visit, as well as directions to get to the house. Overall we enjoyed our stay and may look to return in the fall.

Relaxing, Getaway Location

Everything in the house was as described. Alan was a great communicator and replied quickly. His written directions were indispensable and a must have. The driveway to the house is difficult. A GOOD driver, dry driveway, and patience are necessary to successfully climb the driveway in a two-wheel vehicle and you won't want to make the trip often.
