Au cœur de Hillsdale, vers 1854, se trouvaient les maisons et les bureaux de Merton Fitzpatrick. La maison a 8 appartements qui ont été créés dans les années 30

L'appartement 21 se trouve en haut des escaliers d'un bâtiment historique victorien construit vers 1854. Acheté en 2006 par de nouveaux propriétaires, le bâtiment est en réparation constante mais dans le but de préserver son caractère historique. Tout est mis en œuvre pour préserver, voire parfois recréer ou restaurer, ses caractéristiques uniques telles que parquets anciens, boiseries et moulures originales.

L'appartement 21 a une cuisine qui comprend cuisinière, réfrigérateur, micro-ondes et cafetière Keurig, casseroles et poêles, vaisselle, couverts, comme à la maison! Si vous n'avez pas envie de sortir manger, vous n'avez pas à le faire! La chambre est confortable, parfaite pour deux personnes, avec un lit en métal des années 20. La salle de bain est finie et complète avec douche, lavabo, toilettes et carrelage. Le salon de l'appartement est un endroit idéal pour se détendre. Il dispose d'un lit de repos surdimensionné, chargé d'oreillers, très confortable et d'une télévision 43 "avec Roku. Dans un coin, un bureau et une chaise confortable sont parfaits pour les travaux de bureau ou les devoirs. De l'autre côté de la pièce se trouve un vieux rocker à glissière, également très confortable. Une baie vitrée donne sur la rue et les bâtiments voisins et laisse entrer la lumière du soleil pendant la journée. Au coucher, les oreillers sont retirés du lit de repos et celui-ci devient un lit supplémentaire pour une troisième personne, adulte ou enfant.

La buanderie communautaire est au deuxième étage. Les heures de blanchisserie sont de 7h30 à 22h.

Une corbeille à déchets de 4 verges est fournie dans le stationnement pour votre commodité.
L'escalier de 16 marches situé au centre du bâtiment peut poser problème pour certains adultes et jeunes enfants, qui doivent toujours être surveillés dans les escaliers.

Every thing was great it was clean and brought back a lot good memories apartment 21 which where we stayed was our first place together back 30 years ago. My only suggestion would be to get a different mattress for the bed in the bedroom . Other than that it was a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again .

Didn't get the room reserved due to previous renter, so no fault of lister. Refund coming, so thanks, However if the room i had is ANY indication of the one booked, just don't. Toilet ran constantly, bed nearly killed my back. Great location though!

Near the post office

This property is what you would expect in an old building in Hillsdale. Would sleep two easily. Spartan bathroom and full kitchen. Pluses: clean; good location; no noise from neighboring rooms; ample hot water. Minuses: entry code not available until the last moment; no extra blanket; no AC; no light to read in bed; too little light to read in the main room; some traffic noise, though OK at night; heat apparently comes from electrical devices.

I lived in Hillsdale my whole life until the last 5 years. I know the area very well. This house used to be a "drug house," very impressed with how it has turned into a beautiful property. Would like to recommend a few things..it is the "little things" that make it even more comfortable and special, such as, more than one roll of toilet paper in the home, having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available versus having a little bit in a plastic bottle, didn't have any extras such as salt and pepper, etc. Also had no access to things like extra trash bags, a broom, etc. I know these are not mandatory items, but it does make a difference in one's overall experience. Other than this I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and beauty of the apartment.

In the heart of Hillsdale

Historical house within walking distance of the downtown area. Great for us and adult kids to stay while visiting our son. Day bed is not comfortable but double bed is decent. We have stayed twice now so the price is worth our couple of nights. Host responds quickly.

This old house in quaint Hillsdale

Yes, it's old but charming and great price. Downtown location. Warm, decent bed comfort, double bed and twin. We will be staying again. Extra blankets, heater, fan. Furnishings are old but if you can handle a step back in time and just need a place to lay your head, perfect spot.

Great Location for Visits to Hillsdale College

We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting the Campus of Hillsdale College. Great location which was very convenient. The space heaters kept the room nice and cozy as the temperature was in the 40's at night. Would definitely visit again.

Sweet week in Hillsdale

This property is located conveniently to downtown Hillsdale and the college such that I enjoyed everyday walking to lovely parks, arboretum and neighborhood in this historic town.

Pass it Up

This property looks picturesque on the website. Reality quickly smacks you in the face upon entering the front door. It’s actually a very large and old run down house that’s been converted into several apartments. Ours was poorly furnished/decorated. I would not recommend anything in this building.

Very convenient and cozy!

This rental is very cozy, equipped with everything you need. The owner is very responsive and provides little extras that really made it welcoming! It is within walking distance of food, coffee house and supplies. There was a little hiccup with checking in but it was resolved by one of the employees. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be back!

Okay but not great

Old building, as most in Hillsdale are, so no surprise there. Thin walls, and the neighbors were noisy one night. The bed was comfy and host had supplied water bottles and a few snacks, which were appreciated. The kitchen and living room space were dusty.

Great location / Comfortable Apartment

This property is located at the edge of downtown and 1/2 mile from Hillsdale College campus. Very convenient for walking to locations. The rooms were comfortable and cared for as best a 100+ year old property can be.

Great stay

This house is in a very convenient location in town and is only about 5 minutes from Hillsdale College. Everything was clean and comfortable, and she had snacks and waters as well so I felt very welcome! Overall I would highly recommend staying here!

About Owner Nancy: I am an artist, love old houses, interested in antiques, art, current events, politics. I am also an entrepreneur, and have had a number of small businesses. I love animals, rehabbing old houses, reading, working. I am actually a senior citizen, but feel like a 13 year old and relate very well to younger people. Lots of things left in life that I want to do and experience and learn. Favorite Food lately: my own cabbage soup! Favorite Music: Flamenco Guitar, Life motto: Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Nancy has furnished the rooms of our old 1800's house with antiques she finds on her "treasure hunts". You will notice interesting and eclectic gallery walls that she has put together in each apartment, as well as her mosaic tile artistry in the kitchens, some dining table, end tables and mirrors (depending on apartment).

Nancy's assistant Rebekah (Bekah) does most of the customer relations work, reservations, and tech stuff for Nancy. She has worked with Nancy to help with the business since 2019. She will most likely be the one communicating with you here, via phone, and occasionally in person. Rebekah is also an artist, selling her art both online and in Hillsdale, as well as owner of a small local bakery business. She also enjoys old houses, antiques, estate sales, singing and playing guitar, animals, writing (especially poetry) , nature, knitting, pretty much anything arts and culture related. She is a board member of our local Historical Society and also does volunteer work looking after and teaching children (both art and historical living) in her spare time.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

I bought this property in 2006. It was in rough shape, needed lots of repairs but I loved the look of it and the location, "The Heart of Hillsdale." I visualized it as my source of income after retirement and a "fun" project so I used all my savings to purchase and start repairing the property.
Many folks in town thought I was crazy to tackle a such big project that would eventually consume most of my time and income. When I learned about the history of the property I became even more determined to save the house and eventually share it with visitors.
The house has become a never ending Work in Progress. I see a need for improvement or repair, try to save up the money needed and eventually do it. Most visitors understand and appreciate the effort I put in to save this old house.

Location, Location, Location. You are in the Very Heart of Hillsdale when you stay here.
You can walk anywhere in town from our place!
Half a block to the Post office or City Hall. Across the street from the fire and police departments. Half a block to shops in town, A Block or so to many restaurants. The county building is 2 blocks away. A block to Stocks park and Historic Stocks Mill.
We even loan out free bikes to visitors who want to visit the Baw Beese Trail or pedal around town.
