Welcome to Bateau Lake House, your new home away from home! The house has many recently upgraded features (kitchen, laundry, appliances, floors, carpeting, bathrooms, technology, etc.) Whether you are here for business, golf, fishing, hiking or enjoying the fall foliage in Durand Eastman Park, the many Rochester festivals, a wine tour, a college visit, graduation, or parents' weekend, a lakeside vacation, or just to relax, we invite you to enjoy all the comforts and conveniences offered. The location offers a quiet, relaxing and friendly neighborhood less than one hundred steps to the park, playground, and a quite Lake Ontario beach area; yet is only minutes from downtown Rochester with access to all kinds of shopping, restaurants, or business needs. An additional 30-minute drive places you in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, skiing at Bristol Mountain Resort, or enjoying the scenery in Letchworth State Park.
Our home features a unique architecture with vaulted ceilings, open floor plan, and central air conditioning. The interior is decorated with various antiques and landscape paintings, complemented by relaxing comfortable seating. All seats in the living room recline to enhance your TV viewing, listening to your favorite tunes, or just taking a nap.
Relax on the backyard deck while enjoying your preferred beverage. Prepare a meal on the gas grille, or just chill out overlooking the peaceful garden grotto.

AWESOME!

Def a hidden gem in a location that nobody really knows about. Great place for a change of scenery without being too crowded or busy or touristy. I will def recommend coming here to anyone!

Awesome place in a beautiful area

This place was everything. Perfect home for a small family get together. The kitchen had every tool easy to find, house is bigger in person than photos give it credit. Outdoor space is BEAUTIFUL. Perfect to wind down the day. Beach Park is a walk down the road. Wish next time we could stay longer.

Exceeded expectations

We chose this house because it looked spacious and tasteful and seemed to be easy walking distance to the lake. It was all that and more! I think the house and back yard grotto are larger than the pictures look, and it had everything you could need—fully appointed kitchen, beach chairs and noodles, a bike, a gas grill... and the lake is right there—just a 2 minute walk down the street to a playground, lawn, benches with a view, 2 perfect trees for hanging a hammock, and a beach pleasantly uncrowded on the weekdays. We would definitely stay here again.

A Perfect Getaway Home Away From Home!

An absolutely relaxing retreat! A wonderful home! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean, well kept and many nice touches and amenities. The location was perfect to get to all of our family in Rochester, as well as a perfect location to get anywhere. Fantastic restaurants, breweries, wineries, shopping and parks. Lake Ontario surrounds you, along with many great parks and paths to walk, hike, run, snowshoe etc. Great for all seasons. The owners are amazing to deal with and there for whatever you may need. The best stay we have ever experienced! Thank you!

Great House. Great Location.

We decided to social distance this year while back in Rochester for the Christmas holiday. We were truly fortunate to find this property. We were 5 adults, my self and my wife, my mother-in-law, and our 2 collage age daughters. The layout of the home was perfect. The downstairs bedroom and bath worked great for my mother-in-law. Upstairs there was plenty of room for the four of us. The kitchen is clean and very functional, and the dining room table provided plenty of room to eat and play board games. The neighborhood is fantastic. ½ block from the beach with a park at the end of the road. Everyone we met at the park and on the beach was very nice. Having grown up in Rochester I did not need any recommendations for dining or shopping. But the house is close to some great casual restaurants, burger places, and pubs. Highly recommended – regardless of the season. Lake Ontario, the Port of Rochester, and Durand Eastman Park are great places to visit.

Wonderful week!

We absolutely loved our stay and were so sad to leave! The location is great - very quiet, peaceful dead end street close to restaurants and an easy walk to the beach. The only thing to be aware of is having to walk up/down a hill to get to the beach...was not an issue for us, but could be for some. The beach was great - nice sand, clean water, hardly any seaweed, not crowded (except on the weekend), not too deep (the kids could go out quite far without us having to worry). You do have to walk through some stones along the shore and for a few feet when getting out into the water. The kids weren't bothered by it, but adults may be more comfortable wearing water shoes. The house was very clean and well-stocked. We loved the backyard and the tub upstairs. The kids loved the playground at the end of the street, and the adults loved sitting on the benches overlooking the water. Overall, it was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Easy, breezy, home away from home

This vacation home is full of thoughtful touches that make it feel like you're staying in the home of a long-lost relative! From the personalized welcome page in the home information binder, to the pleasant reminders throughout the house, you feel like the owner, host, and the house itself are taking care of you! It has everything you need, exactly where you expect it to be, with pleasant extras around every corner. We loved the close proximity to the private beach and easy drive to many great attractions. We would definitely recommend this property!

Better than the pictures

We loved staying in this very charming home. It exceeded all our expectations. You could tell it was well taken care of and recently renovated. This was, honestly, the most well-stocked vacation home I ever have ever stayed in (beach towels, kitchen equipment, gas grill, bike, beach chairs, etc.). The beach was beautiful and incredibly close to the home. The neighbors were friendly. Kim, the owner, was very gracious and kind. One thing to keep in mind, is that the beach is not actually private. It is actually a public beach/park but it is kind of hidden away, so it is was never crowded. All in all, we had a wonderful experience would recommend this home without reservations.
