If you had better communication and diligence throughout the booking process, you could have asked clarifications questions and we would have answered. 1. There’s no story that’s trying to be hidden, Some homes around the neighborhood are in a bad looking state and has not been rebuilt since the storm. It’s sadly a tragedy that effects the appearance of many New Orleans neighborhoods. You called while already at the home saying you did not like the neighbor and you felt unsafe. I asked if anything happened, you said no but your kids are crying . I then asked if you truly felt unsafe why would you be waiting in the car with your family instead of the home? You wanted to protect your car you said… I advised you to step inside because that would be the safest and I assured to you it is a safe neighborhood from my own personal families experience and other guests. First red flag… 2. Address is released on Vrbo automatically within 30 days of the booking. You didn’t do your due diligence to look at it nor reach out to ask any questions. You didn’t even know how many bedrooms the house had, as you asked me when you were walking into the home. Again, I think due diligence and reaching out to us could have helped provide you more answers if you actually had questions. Second red flag… 3. We learned of a power outage on the day of your arrival, and reached out to you to alert you and asked how you’d like to proceed. You asked will there be compensation, and we said yes it will depend on the time of outage. The power was out for 3 hours, which we provided about 20% discount for that days cost. It came out to about $30 , which was sent(albeit it was late, so apologies). Again, if you felt like this was not fair, why did you ask us directly? Or when asked how you wanted to proceed, why not say cancellation . You were looking for a way to get more money while still staying in the house and when it wasn’t an amount you wanted it became a problem. Third red flag…
