The location is spectacular! The host and the accommodation were great. If you like privacy, sparkling beaches, authentic cuisine and friendly people, I recommend it highly.

The house is right on a wonderful beach and has a lovely pool area with shaded balconies for when the sun is too much. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped although you need to figure out how to use an induction hob! There is also a grill outside. The instructions about how to navigate from the airport on one island to the house on another were clear except for the final half mile but we figured it out. The house could do with some maintenance as we had issues with the water and battery-operated controllers; however, the host was extremely attentive, and her local crew was fantastic, so everything was sorted out quickly. Water is scarce on the island, so I liked the fact that you have to pay extra if you use a lot (they calculate usage on the last day) - the same with electricity, which is very expensive on the islands. North Caicos is a quiet island - don't come here if you want night life and gourmet food (the best food was cooked by Porshe on Bambara Beach!). But if you want turtles, reef fish/sharks, amazing water, and lovely locals, this is a great place to come.

Beautiful House

The house is beautiful, the porches are wonderful and the proximity to the beach is amazing. We saw only a couple of people on the beach all week. We loved the house and the island. This is a pretty remote spot so you definitely need a car and should not plan on eating out much. If you want lots of amenities, stick to Provo, we loved how quiet it was and doing nothing, but that may not be for everyone.The drawback is the bugs. They are REALLY bad, my son and I both have literally hundreds of bites. We wore bug spray and did not go on the beach at sunrise or sunset and still came home covered in bites. Obviously, this is not the host’s fault, but definitely something to consider.

Glad you enjoyed the house, porches and the fantastic beach. The 'no see'um bugs' do like certain people. The key is to not touch or scratch them for the first hour. It is important to wear bug spray when you go out to eat at night. (Cilantros, Miss D's, Miss B's, and Mudjin Harbour). You also need bug spray after it rains and while touring the caves. Glad your family had a great holiday.

Best Family Vacation Ever

This was our second time to Turks and first on North Caicos. Compared to Provo, North Caicos is much quieter and less-developed but with the same beautiful beaches. Our host Kathy and house managers Wilfred, Deloras and their son Deshawn were all great and very responsive. The house itself is spacious with 4 bedrooms. One of the rooms has its own exterior entrance and is perfect for someone who wants a little more privacy. The house has a large greatroom and a very large screened-in porch which is where we spent most of our evenings. The property is located directly on a beautiful and very private beach. Some days we didn't see another person. The location is excellent and very close to the very upscale Parrot Cay. This property is a perfect place for those travelers who want a quieter location where they can spend quality time with family. We have taken many family vacations but I can honestly say this one was the best.

Beautiful Ocean Trip

Visiting North Caicos is a bit of an adventure by itself - but we loved our trip. The ocean was amazing. The pool was well loved (even in December). The house was very nice. A few details that were not super clear - one master upstairs; two bedrooms downstairs together. The other mother-in-law suite is another entrance entirely to the house (littles had no interest in staying in there alone). There is a little reading nook in a loft above the living room with a loveseat. The little bugs are super serious - bring itch cream. Bring your own groceries (fly with or from provo). The alcohol selection on the island was more than adequate. The rental cars are... interesting. We were worried about the whole check-out process and having cash for utilities/water - and it was fine. I feel like being able to venmo would have eliminated that potential stress. Its definately a USD cash culture on the island.

Glad you enjoyed North Caicos, the fantastic ocean and the villa. There is a generous allowance for utilities, we do encourage our guests to conserve. North Caicos is a very quaint amazing place and we are happy to offer a great villa surrounded by such a beautiful ocean and beach.

Peaceful, pristine, remote

The location of this home is amazing! Most days we didn’t see another person on the beach. The beach is the highlight of this location!It is absolutely pristine! The water is crystal clear and super warm! Perfect for relaxing , snorkeling, Kayaking…. There is no shade on the beach but the host provides 2 small umbrellas. The description of the home is accurate in that there is air conditioning in the bedrooms and not in the living area. But we found it very hot. They do provide fans and you will need them. The bugs are very aggressive . Three of us got bitten a few times but my daughter had over 50 bites. This is with bug spray and insect repellent bracelets. This is not a fault of the property, just part of north Caicos. I’m sharing just to say be prepared if you have someone susceptible to insect bites. Also, screenshot your directions to the property and if leaving the property. We had trouble with gps in some areas. And make sure you have international service capability on your cell phone. The outdoor shower is amazing! It’s very private and refreshing! We bought groceries in Provo and transported on the ferry. The next time I would definitely have a service shop for us and have the groceries already at the house. You can only carry so many groceries and luggage… We enjoyed eating at Miss B’s and Cilantros. Excellent food at both places! Kathy, our host was excellent! She was super informative and responsive to our questions. She is very easy to work with!

The view was one of a kind. The beach was so calm and the quietness was unforgettable. We heard nothing but the wind in the trees and birds chirping. This trip would be ideal for a family or bunch of couples who don’t plan to get out and explore much, and want to just eat and be at the beach. There isn’t A/C in the whole house, just the bedrooms. In July it got pretty hot for us but maybe other months would be fine. The furniture is definitely old/dated and we did run into some unexpected critters in the house, but that’s expected with being in a barely inhabited island.

Many guests enjoy this authentic Caribbean style, though we understand summer temperatures can feel warmer depending on personal preference. Our home is furnished to provide a comfortable, relaxed island atmosphere rather than a modern luxury aesthetic, and we strive to keep everything clean and well maintained. Being on a tropical island surrounded by nature, it is occasionally geckos to find their way indoors despite our regular pest-control program. This is a common part of island living throughout the Caribbean. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us. We hope to welcome you back for another peaceful beachfront escape.
