Lake Home Guest Suite

We love living on the lake and are so happy we get to share it! The guest suite is the walk-out lower level of our new home built on Little Cormorant Lake outside of DL. 1 bedroom with queen bed and huge bonus room that sleep up to 7 on the bunk beds. Private bathroom, living room with fireplace and bar (complete with fridge, sink and dishwasher). Brand new kitchen with quartz countertops and custom bar top. Wake up to gorgeous views of the lake and get ready for a fun and relaxing time!

You will likely hear us living life upstairs when we are home. We are an active family, always on the go and friends and family may swing by unannounced. Living at the lake has a way of bringing people together!

The space
Lower level (all inside photos shown are of the lower level) of our primary home. Guests also have access to the beach, dock, paddle boards, fire pit, grill and playground (shared spaces).

Separate entrance available through sliding door in the basement.

Neighborhood overview
Beautiful lake home with space and room to breathe in a wonderful community. Each property in the community is roughly 2 acres. Only ~10 minutes to DL for restaurants, groceries, huge public beach, Walmart and Zorbaz!

Great location

We had a wonderful time. The place was clean and plenty of room for 5 adults. The view was great and the whole stay was very relaxing.

Sister vacation

The home was beautiful. The area was beautiful and quiet so very relaxing. Our hosts were helpful. We had an issue with the fireplace that they resolved promptly. We would definitly stay again and recommend to others.

Fun Family Get Away

We had a fun five days here. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the fishing was awesome. My Granddaughter and Grandniece had so much fun catching fish right off the dock as did the rest of us. The days went by too fast. The hosts were very nice and easy to contact if you needed anything.

Beautiful location

The property was just as listed, we were very comfortable and happy with our accommodations. We loved meeting our hosts and their family, including the pets!! O'Mara and Adam were very responsive and we appreciated that. The property is beautiful with easy lake access.

Absolutely stunning lake home!

This has been my absolute best vacation! Had a couple of our own person hiccups during our stay and the hosts were more than accommodating: letting us use some liners (for one of our teens who didn’t have any) and dealing with us having to stay a hour past check out while we waited on a jump start for our car that completely died out. The property is stunning! And all you could want to do on a lake front property is available and there is something for every age group. I will most definitely be booking here again!

Great Lake place!

We stayed here for a change of pace from the dull and cramped hotels we were used to when out here near DL for hunting. Glad we did this, and will again. Clean, comfy, safe. Can’t ask for more. Thanks!

Great fall vacation

We loved our stay - nothing but good to say and as advertised. Only downside is we brought our own games and they had many of the same ones - we could have left that bag at home. :-) It is in a beautiful setting with easy access to Fargo, Detroit Lakes and the rest of the area. Kitchen amenities were very nice and it had two things many Minnesota lake places lack - great internet and water. Thank you!

Great stay in a quiet neighborhood. Immaculate property. Awesome views of the lakeshore, changing colors of the leaves. Relaxing environment both down by the lake and in the house after a long day away. Omara was very personable when talking with her. Their dog and cat would greet us at the door every morning wanting their back scratched. Will stay again if in the area.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The view was amazing. Our only negative would be that we were able to clearly hear the very active family living above. Otherwise this was an amazing place to rent.

Relaxing week

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Lake had very little boat traffic and was quiet. We were the only boat fishing. No walleye to be had, but we caught nice bass and northern. Hosts were available for any needs we had, but were scarce and not intrusive. There are people living above the space, so there was noise from upstairs, but not at any inappropriate times. Overall we enjoyed our stay

Beautiful place to stay

A very clean and nice place to stay. They were very accommodating. The only cons I had was you could hear them walking around upstairs in the morning and it is on a gravel bumpy road. But even with the cons, I would stay there again. It was a nice place to stay and we didn't have any issues with anything.

I’m a world traveler with Minnesota roots! So far I’ve been to over 20 countries including Thailand, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, Portugal, Ireland, lived in Greece.... and the list goes on but there is still so many places left to explore!! We welcome you to our home and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!! But first, here’s a bit more about us...

I grew up just outside of Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated from the University of North Dakota. That’s where I met my husband, Adam and we decided to start a life together full of adventure. Right out of college, we lived and worked in CA for 4 years. Adam, as a Mechanical Engineering manager at Northrop Grumman and myself as a Global Account Executive at Pearson Education. A promotion moved us across the country to Maryland, where we lived and worked for 6 years. I went into residential real estate halfway through our Maryland stay and have never looked back. It was about that time we decided we wanted to eventually return to the Midwest, raise our family and live on the lake. Adam took a job in Detroit Lakes as the Director of Engineering and I continue to grow my Maryland real estate business, traveling back and forth in addition to my MN and ND RE business. We purchased our lake lot in 2015 and began construction in 2017. It was a rough road, with a lot of sweat and tears but we’re so proud and happy of the road we’ve traveled and our home we get to share. We love life at the lake and are so thankful we get to share it and welcome friends both old and new!!
