Walnut Lane House - Private Mountain views

Thank you for considering our house for a relaxing country stay. This house was purchased and furnished to be a vacation rental, from the coffee maker to the outdoor pool with a view. Luray has been our home, our escape, and our happy place for some time and we are excited to be able to share this town with you and your family. The house is large with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, beautiful views, and an above-ground pool.


The pool is currently open through Labor Day, and is four feet deep.

We are conveniently located near Lake Arrowhead, Luray Caverns, and Shenandoah National Park.

We enjoyed our stay so much we hope to return again! Hubby and i , my sister and her hubby celebrated our 50th year Wedding Anniversaries together! And.met other family members for our cousin Sandys celebrating of life on Saturday! great clean home and lots of extra spaces to enjoy! Lovely out door spaces , clean and manicured yard!!!!

We loved our stay at Walnut Lane House. In fact, it was our 3rd time staying and we will be back. The pool always is super clean and a big hit. We love the house’s proximity to Lake Arrowhead, Shenandoah NP and the town of Luray. It is very peaceful and relaxing.

Comfortable house with a great backyard. Location is close enough to everything in the area, and the listing/pictures are accurate to what you'll be getting. Just a heads up that cell phone reception might not be great for internet access, but the house has good Wi-Fi.

Girl's Hiking Trip

We loved staying at Walnut Lane! It had convenient access to Shenendoah National Park and the town of Luray. The home was well furnished with cooking utensils, pans, plates, etc. We appreciated the multiple sitting rooms, the comfy porch, the huge DVD collection, the DVD player, and that simple things like soap, dish soap, and toilet paper were provided. It was so easy to vacation here. The pool was very clean and a great place to relax after a long day of hiking. The host was quick to respond and very helpful whenever we had any questions. Spacious, well-furnished, and relaxing! We all loved the place and if we find ourselves returning to Shenandoah, we would love to stay again!

Great Location!

I was in the area for an event at the Arrowhead Recreation area. This spot was perfect and only a few minutes away. Shenandoah is also very close. We had a great time and the place is very clean and cozy.

Beautiful surroundings

This was our second time staying here. It’s perfect for our family. We enjoy meeting once a year here and it makes it easy to eat home versus having to eat out at every meal. The pool is a definite plus for the younger grandchildren (everyone honestly).

Tranquil spot with a great view!

We loved the view of the mountains from the backyard and pool area. The pool was super clean and very refreshing during our stay. We loved how convenient it was to Shenandoah national Park as well as the town of Luray. Can’t wait to come back.

Lovely home

This house is terrific. Very spacious, clean, lots of amenities. The pool was refreshing. Located close to Luray Caverns, downtown Luray, and Skyline Drive. We don’t really prefer streaming tv to cable, but it worked out fine. Loved the tv in every bedroom. For a large group, an additional tv in one of the other sitting rooms would be nice, but it was just my husband and me, so it was fine. Didn’t need to bring a thing other than our clothes and food. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if returning to the area.

Beautiful home in a gorgeous location

Very nice house with plenty of provisions. Central heat and air keeps it nice inside. The pool was VERY well kept and a very nice extra bonus. Lots of room inside, with three different sitting areas. HUGE master bedroom with large on-suite bathroom. TVs in every bedroom was also nice when someone wants to watch something different than on the family room TV. Large collection of DVDs and books. When I contacted Brad about the smoke detector battery starting to chirp, he asked me if there was anything else. I told him a bulb burned out, and there were two 9 volt batteries and a new light bulb delivered the next day. Brad certainly stays on top of all needs. I would definitely rent this house again.

Perfect family home in beautiful location

We stayed at this wonderful property right after Christmas, as we have lots of family in the area. This house has it all! We comfortably hosted 2 gatherings at the home. All of us, extended family included, marveled at what a wonderful find this house is. It allowed for a relaxing and comfortable week with many relatives. We’re looking at future availability, as this location served us so well, we want it to be our go to destination for future family reunions.

Perfect trip

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner was nice enough to leave some laundry detergent and a welcome basket- which my sons devoured. Having 3 full baths was very convenient. It was close to the park and to Luray. Everything was perfectly maintained and welcoming. The owner even put. A light on since we were coming in late. Thanks so much

We only exist because our wonderful guest choose to stay at the house. We are honored to host your vacation and will go out of the way to make sure you have everything you want or need during your stay.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

This property was purchased and fixed up to be a place for our family to come together and all be under 1 roof. We have a large family that likes to spend time together and others that needed a place to lay their head when they came in town. After years of enjoying the house and getting it just right we felt it was time to open the doors and allow others to enjoy. The wide open spaces, private pool and peace and quiet seemed like something people needed right now. With acres of land and a foot print of over 2200 sq ft it was important to us that the house not become a retreat center but a family escape so that is how it was furnished and priced. Walnut lane means a lot to our family and we are sure that once you stay it will have a piece of your heart as well.
