An Insta-worthy build in a serene spot. We enjoyed watching quail scurry and the views are great. Unfortunately, that's where the comfort ends.
It is clear the owners of the property have never stayed in the home. If they had, they would have purchased furniture! So minimalist is their style, I had to double-check the pics, thinking they had been robbed!
It is difficult to overstate the discomfort of staying in a home sans bedside tables, lamps, dressers, etc. For our 11-day stay, our clothes lay strewn on the floor for the most part. We repurposed some chairs to serve as cubbies.
As other reviews have noted (and the owners claim to have remedied) there is little lighting and no floor lamps. In fact, we needed to move the dining table to a location with enough light to see.
A circuit tripped in the night, and the refrigerator shut off. Later that day, the dishwasher started to fail, and we discovered the electrical catastrophe/kitchen. As written in other reviews, the wiring probably needs to be redone in the kitchen to support the number of appliances being utilized. This also explains the lack of a microwave.
The bathrooms (especially the center one) are interesting. Once you use it, you realize there is no place to put a bar of soap between showers (on the toilet ew) nor hang a towel! The grade of the curbless shower is inadequate, causing water to seep under the glass dividers, and even into the hallway.
The Aesop products are great! Too bad there was only 1 set for the 3 bathrooms. We purchased TP and supplies, despite the owners knowing we would be there for a long stay.
A small warning about the toilet room in the bath/bedroom--no ventilation. DO NOT POOP IN IT. The room is clearly a converted (uninsulated) garage. COLD at night. We survived, but even us Seattles had to wear socks and sweaters to bed.
Generous of the owners to provide a bundle of wood. However, the fireplace is unique... It is a salvaged small gas one and missing any type of screen keeping embers or logs from rolling out onto the floor. Additionally, there are no tools of any sort! It is only a matter of time before a child or pet is burned during a stay.
Only Netflix was available, no news for us.
At the price we paid, for what I thought would be a luxury stay, I expected a lot more. No soap in all the bathrooms? Couldn't ensure we had enough TP? This place is simply not worth the money. Reviews ignoring issues are BS. Skip this one
