Home is where the heart is and there’s a lot of heart at Haven. Located in the scenic hills of Highland County Virginia and connected to hundreds of acres, this quiet retreat sleeps 8 with 3 bedrooms (1 Queen & 2 Full Beds), a double sleeper sofa and two full bathrooms.
*** Please note: The maximum stay allowance is 10 days ***

What a wonderfully put together booking! So cozy and welcoming- it’s a perfect reprieve from the frigid outdoors. Lon was very helpful, always prompt with responses. I would absolutely recommend this booking to anyone who wants to explore the surrounding national forests, and I would certainly be open to using this booking again for the summer.

Wonderful property in the mountains with dark skies and the milky way from horizon to horizon. The hosts were very nice and easily contacted when needed. The house was comfortable, clean, and well stocked with the essentials. Do go to the Green Bank Observatory should you stay as it was a highlight of the visit. Hope to return.

Perfect home away from home

My fiancĂ© and I stayed here for the weekend for a friend’s wedding and it was incredibly surreal. The sights were phenomenal, and we managed to see lots of deer and cows. The entire home was well organized, clean, and had an abundance of amenities. We both enjoyed our stay immensely and are considering coming back just because the place was so comforting and it truly was even better than the pictures. Instructions were so clear and there were multiple spaces to relax and enjoy the sights. Highly recommend!

Nice quiet get away

We came for the stars and unfortunately got a cloudy weekend. Still had a great time away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The home was lovely and people in the town were very nice.

Our week in the country

In a remote 1960’s farmhouse, with sparkling clean rooms and a friendly Jersey cow next door, we loitered on the porch with our coffee, and enjoyed lots of books and memorabilia for five great days while attending a friends wedding. It was wonderful and I recommend this place.

Peaceful Stay

The property is great. Great location not too far off of the main road, but noise free and beautiful. The house is super clean and cozy with lovely views. The owners are right nearby and wonderful hosts.

We will return!!

What's not to love!! This was our 2nd time staying at Haven. Each friend that has accompanied us here just fell in love too. The home itself has everything you need, it's super clean, very comfortable beds, charmingly decorated, but with the views outside...we spent most of our time out back. I'm usually the person who wants to go and see this and do that, but i never left the property and loved every minute of it. We were there purposely for the perseids meteor shower and the dark skies at haven did not disappoint!! Looking forward to another opportunity to stay at Haven.

A beautiful home

A beautiful and tranquil place. Lon and his wife were super hospitable. We had two kids with us who enjoyed the fire pit at night and watching the cows in the morning. The cleanest and most well maintained vacation rental we’ve been to. Can’t wait to go back.

Charming and Impeccable

The pictures did not do this gem justice! It was absolutely impeccable and so charming. The furniture was incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed coffee in the morning and wine in the evening with the cows and deer in the pasture.

Birding trip to Highland County

Very nice and peaceful place. The house is very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was a great home base for our birding trip. We also enjoyed the birds around the property.

Peace in paradise

Unplug and getaway from hustle and bustle. We had everything we needed and especially enjoyed sitting on the deck looking birdwatching while having a glass of wine. You might need a 4 WD vehicle to navigate the last bit of road before driveway. We have a Subaru Outback and had no problem. I highly recommend the Bluegrass Mercantile for any last minute grocery items. They had the best, huge Steamed Shrimp and Hushpuppies!

Clean and cozy

For our family, this was our third stay at this property. It is very clean and cozy/comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied. The hosts do a great job in communicating. We enjoy the quiet setting and farm/mountain views. Great property for other families to book and enjoy!

Winter Wonderland

Haven is a lovely warm home. It being Christmas time was decorated beautifully and we were lucky enough to get a fresh snow fall. Highland county is very quiet and rural but thats the beauty of it. Its a very special place.
