Peu Chequers dispose de 2 chambres, un simple et un roi. Un grand salon et une véranda ensoleillée donnant sur un joli petit jardin. Cuisine entièrement équipée, salle de bains moderne à l'étage et un vestiaire en bas. Parking disponible pour 2 voitures.
Situé dans le petit village de Freston, qui présente un pub convivial sert de bons plats. Juste quelques minutes de voiture de la ville balnéaire de Aldeburgh, également très proche de Snape Maltings Concert Halls et la ville de Saxmundham

Lovely cottage

We really enjoyed our stay every thing we needed and in close proximity to so many interesting places. The pub next door was good for food tho check opening times cos they were closed more than the web site said (time of year). I would recommend this very comfortable cottage.

A great place to start a new year

The cottage was exactly what we wanted to spend some time in a great part of England. It is well decorated and furnished inside and most comfortable to stay in. It is situated in a pretty small village with a wonderful pub a stones throw away which served excellent food and hosted by very friendly staff. I certainly recommend this as a place to stay for visiting Suffolk.

Ideal base for the Aldeburgh Festival

Little Chequers was all that we had hoped for: clean, bright, comfortably furnished with plenty of space for two. The garden was a lovely unexpected extra and an impressive use of the space. Easy access to Aldeburgh, Snape, Dunwich Heath and RSPB Minsmere made this an ideal base for our visit.

Xmas decs in the property were a lovely touch. Excellent for our dog, lots of walks and property very suitable. Need instructions for cooker hob as never worked with it before. Also no instructions for air fryer and latest microwave. Everything else was lovely.microwave

Tranquil oasis of calm amid the current crisis

Lovely cottage in quiet setting in the village of Friston. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the daffodils in the courtyard garden & watching the birds on the bird feeder. Easy access to Snape, Aldeburgh & Orford to name just few. Closures beginning to occur due to the covid-19 crisis (which worsened after we returned home) but we still enjoyed picnics on our days out. Thank you Toni for a lovely stay & we look forward to returning in the future. Ian & Maureen

The cottage is outstanding: the décor is brilliant in all rooms, the Wi-Fi is great,, the equipment is superb, there’s a well-tended small garden and the kitchen is lovely. As we walked in the door for the first time, the cleanliness and brightness of the home was evident. It was great to have so many pamphlets available, apart from using online sites.The village of Friston is very quiet with just the pub and the church. No shops are in Friston, so make sure everything is brought with you. On arrival, we found tea, coffee and biscuits but no milk. There are plenty of loo rolls and a kitchen roll. Hand wash is at all sinks and there’s washing-up liquid tablets for the dishwasher. Recycling is easy, but glass needs to be put elsewhere. Parking is OK; we downloaded outside, before moving the car to the proper place. Yes, the car got bird poo on it but that’s not the end of the world. There’s no DVD player no BBQ provided.We had lovely days spent at Bressingham Steam Museum (just so wonderful, a simple, step into the past place), Sutton Hoo NT site, Walberswick for crabbing (such simple fun), Southwold, Aldeburgh (fish and chips on the beach in the evening) and on the way home we called in at Melton Hall NT property.Summing up, this was a special holiday home run 100% efficiently by the owner, Toni; we didn’t meet her but could have via a phone call. Her cleaner/manager of the property, when Toni is not there, deserves to be praised too! They couldn’t do a better

Cottage zum Wohlfühlen

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Toll war der Wintergarten mit dem angrenzenden wunderschönen Garten. Das Wetter war super, so dass wir viel draußen unternehmen konnten bzw. den Garten genießen konnten. In der Küche findet man alles was man zum kochen braucht. Hundebesitzer finden hier eine ideale und Hundefreundliche Umgebung.

Cosy comfortable country cottage

Great place & will revisit next Spring hopefully: warm, clean & cosy home-from-home. Can’t recommend it enough: ideal location for visiting Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings & Southwold; handy pub on the doorstep with great staff & food + dog-friendly. The cottage was so very homely, as it was October it was chilly at night but the cottage was so cosy and warm to come back to. Aldeburgh itself was such a beautiful charming place… all in all a great Hoilday.

Cosy dog friendly cottage

Cottage was clean , cosy and well equipped. Pretty courtyard garden was secluded and safe for dogs. Very quiet and peaceful, an ideal place to chill. Close to Aldburgh, Southwold, Snape, Dunwich and Walberswick. Pub a 2 minute walk away serving good food. Definitely worth a return visit

we stayed last week and found the cottage very clean on arrival. It's very comfortable and well equipped. Conveniently placed for the adjacent pub, (only open Wed. to Sun.currently, need to pre-book for meals. Had a good meal-v large portions!) It's a quiet village pub-no noise audible in the cottage. Friston is a small village-no shops, but is only 10 minutes to Aldbrough, a nice town & promenade. The small enclosed garden at the cottage was good to sit in during the great weather we had, but the chairs could be more comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the cottage to couples looking for a peaceful location.

Lovely Cottage in a lovely friendly village

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Situated in a lovely village with a very welcoming pub less than a minute walk away. We found some great walks to take our energetic Labrador and son. Great base to explore the coastal towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Lowestoft. Leiston is a 5 minute drive away to stock up on essentials and some nice Take Aways if you don't feel like cooking. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need for your stay, the owner has thought of everything, it feels like a real home from home definitely one of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in. We definitely recommend and will certainly be visiting again in the future. Thank you Toni for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.

A peaceful and cosy escape from current restrictions

A comfortable home from home with easy access to Suffolk coastal delights. School desk in kitchen brought back memories of 1940s ! Conservatory extension a welcome addition. Also appreciated availability of Netflix. Only recommendation is to ask cleaners to descale kettle - excessive build up not conducive to a good cuppa.

This delightful property was perfect in every way. Very clean and comfortable. Pretty little garden and a lovely sun room. Well equipped for self catering but there is also a very good dog friendly pub within a very short walk. Short drive to the Suffolk coastline and the lovely towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. Host very friendly and helpful.

A delightful weeks holiday

The house was delightful. Very well equipped kitchen, good heating and altogether ideal. Just beside is the Old Chequers pub, (run by Andy and Carol who are great fun), where we were made very welcome and excellent food. Went into Aldeburgh twice, watching the crazy "swim" on Boxing Day, visited Southwold (getting even better) and also Snape. Thank Toni for a great week.
