Shellies on the Beach is a beautifully renovated 2-bedroom beach house that captures the essence of the 70s with its funky Bohemian loft style, yet offers all modern comforts. Located just behind the dunes in Sawtell, this absolute beachfront property features a private path to the beach, high ceilings, an outdoor bath, and a lush rainforest garden courtyard. The unique loft bedroom is accessed via a ladder, adding a fun and adventurous element to your stay.

Welcome to Shellies on the Beach, where vintage charm meets modern contemporary living. This 2-bedroom beach house offers an exclusive retreat with direct access to Sawtell Beach. The home has been fully renovated to provide a fresh, modern environment while preserving its 70s soul.
The main bedroom on the ground floor offers comfort and convenience, while the second loft bedroom provides a quirky and cozy escape, accessible via a ladderâideal for those looking for a little adventure. Please be advised that due to the 2nd loft bedroom being ladder accessed this may not be suitable to everyone. You will need a reasonable high level of agility to safetly climb the ladder up and down to access this bedroom. The 2nd bedroom would likely not be suitable for very young children or the elderly, however the main bedroom on the ground floor is easy access.
The home's single bathroom is complemented by an outdoor bath off the master bedroom and beach shower, perfect for rinsing off under the stars or after a day on the sand.
The high ceilings throughout enhance the sense of space, and the full kitchen ensures all your culinary needs are met. The outdoor entertaining area is a true highlight, set amongst rainforest dunes, offering a serene dining experience in your private garden courtyard, complete with a fun cabana and BBQ.
Please note that the loft bedroom is accessed via a strong sturdy fixed ladder. There is a trapdoor that can be closed when in the loft for safety. You will need a reasonable level of agility to be able to access the loft, and you will not be able to get large bags or suitcases up there. There is a very comfy lounge in the ground floor living room as a backup if the loft is not for you. There is also the main bedroom on the ground floor. Most guests love the sense of adventure and quirkiness that the loft provides, and it's always a hit with the kids.
Sawtell Beach located directly in front of your accommodation is a popular surf beach with great waves and very popular for surfing and swimming so please bring your boards & beach towels with you. The Sawtell Surf Club is located just a short walk up the beach and has a great cafe for a morning coffee and breakfast in the sun. There is also patrolled swimming located directly in front of the surf club.
The main street of Sawtell is only a short walk from your accommodation, with fantastic cafes and restaurants, boutique shops and a retro cinema. While a car can be handy to explore the other areas of Coffs Harbour you could also park up and not have to start it again until you leave with so many beaches, cafes and shops within walking distance.
Pets can be accommodated on request, but must be approved prior. There will be a small additional charge per pet. We do ask however that they not be allowed in the dunes or beach due to local restrictions to protect native flora and fauna.
Shellies on the Beach Little House is located right next door to the Big House, large groups can book both places together, giving you a total of 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Perfect for extended families or groups of friends that want to travel together and also have their own space.
