Home away from home

Very impressed with Sycamore Villa, so comfortable and homely. Had everything we needed, beds were very comfy and heaters in each room. The deck was nice and sunny with a beautiful outlook of autumn trees. Location was perfect, close to city centre and supermarket near by. Many thanks to Ken (the host) for providing awesome accommodation.

Sycamore Villa is in an excellent location in reasonably close proximity to the Dunedin CBD by car or on foot. This lower floor residence is an ideal base for exploring the many sights around Dunedin City and environs. There is no time limit nor fee if parking on the cul de sac in Maitland Street where the villa is located. Access is down some wooden steps below street level and a code lock is on the entry door. It is a cosy, quiet and warm dwelling. The kitchenette was well equipped to do basic cooking using an oven or microwave. There was a good selection of china and eating utensils. The two bedrooms have comfortable mattresses on the double beds, with additional bedding in a wardrobe not needed. Each bed had an electric blanket. The toilet and bathroom amenities were clean. The shower offered a good hot water supply with good water pressure. A smart TV was available in the living area enabling relaxed viewing from the living room sofa. The dining table was a useful surface for playing games, doing puzzles, sharing meals, writing or using a laptop.

Dunedin Stay

Very good value for money. We hit a cold snap in Dunedin during summer and were able to keep cosy. Had everything we needed. Easy downhill walk to the Octagon pas some grand old houses. Good cardiac workout on walk up!

Top of the Town

The property was impeccable quite a lot of thought had gone into us as guests. We had very specific instructions as how to work the various appliances a First Aid Kit for emergencies. Names and addresses for Doctors, Pharmacy, Hospital and Emergency numbers were supplied. Where too eat up and down the street. Beautifully quiet. Entrance is by stairs going down to the unit. No problems recommending this place. Thankyou to the owners who made our stay trouble free.
