The Neighborhood:
Aroha Te Taumata sits in Kawaha Point, a quiet lakeside suburb on the northern edge of Rotorua known for its views and birdlife. Direct Lake Rotorua foreshore access is about 300 metres down the street - an easy stroll to watch the swans and waterbirds. You're close to everything that brings people to Rotorua: Skyline Rotorua's gondola and luge is roughly a 5-minute drive, the Whakarewarewa and Waipa mountain bike trails about 10 to 12 minutes, and the central city with its restaurants, geothermal attractions and Polynesian Spa around 7 minutes away. For everyday basics there's a local Four Square and a fish and chip shop on nearby Koutu Road, with a larger supermarket a few minutes' drive on Fairy Springs Road.
Getting Around:
A car is the easiest way to explore Rotorua and the wider lakes district, and the property has free off-street parking with extra room on the street for larger groups. Rotorua Airport is about a 15-minute drive, and taxis and ride-share are readily available. The city centre is a short drive away, with bus routes nearby if you'd rather leave the car parked.
