Great time!

The Turtle Shell was a fabulous place to stay. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do. The house is very well-stocked and kid friendly.

Another Excellent Stay

This place has it all for families. All the beach stuff you need and more. We always have a great stay and will definitely be back again. Quick walk to the beach and local restaurants. Short drive to tons of activities.

First Time to OBX

We enjoyed our stay very much. The rental was close to everything and only a short walk from the beach. Plenty of amenities to enhance our stay. We would definitely book this rental again.

Our family had an amazing time at the Turtle Shell. The owners Russell & Terry were great to work with and could easily get in touch with them. The cottage had everything we needed, super clean and close to everything!! If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be staying here!!

Thanks to all our renter's who take good care of our property so we can keep our prices as low as possible and provide amenities so you don't have to rent ($$$ money out of your pocket), beach chairs, umbrellas, beach cart, bikes, etc. We have those provided for you and so much more! We also provide bed linens and bath towels AND a free cleaning after you check out. What's not to love about that?!

Very clean and great location!

We enjoyed our short weekend stay especially the convenient location. We were across the street from a Harris Teeter which made picking up dinner easy. Excellent restaurants close by as well. The property had great amenities including a ping pong table that the kids enjoyed. Easy walk to the beach too.

Perfect Vacation Spot for our Family with Children with Special Needs

Wonderful property and had everything that we needed to feel safe with our family who has two children with special needs. It was a short walk to the beach and we were surrounded by plenty of activities in the area. Rooms had everything in them to enjoy our stay and we felt right at home.

With the two (2) beach carts we provide (so you don't feel like a "pack-mule") it is an easy walk. There is also FREE parking at this handy beach access if you don't want the exercise. It is a 4-5 minute walk as described in the website description. We do provide lots of extras (sheets, bath towels, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, bikes, etc.) so you don't have to rent them or pack your vehicle so tight. Many other wonderful items are at the TURTLE SHELL for your enjoyment. Come and see for yourself!

Great hospitality

We have stayed at a lot of locations while on,in to the Outer Banks and this is by far the cleanest location we’ve ever stayed at. Terry is extremely helpful with any and all needs. Will definitely recommend this place to our many friends and family that travel to the Outer Banks.

Family Vacay

Enjoyed our short stay at this beach home. Great location despite the car wash next door which could be a little noisy at times. The owner was very good at communicating when we had any questions or concerns. I would recommend this property for small families for a quick getaway.

Great experience

Turtle Shell was great! It had any and everything we could have needed or asked for during our stay. Location was great and central to everything we wanted to do and visit while in OBX. We look forward to our next visit and will absolutely plan to book Turtle Shell again.

Oversized bath sheet towels, hand towels, face cloth, sheets & pillowcases for the beds, bikes, charcoal grill, cooler, full-size ping-pong table, corn-hole game, magnetic darts, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach blanket, boogie boards, beach cart to transport your gear to the water front, toddler toys, front porch swings, hammock, picnic table, Keurig coffee pot and regular coffee pot, fully stocked kitchen of pots, pans, utensils ... etc. We do our best to provide many things to help you enjoy your stay.

A Perfect Family Property

Our week at the Turtle Shell flew by! We were so comfortable and felt at home immediately in this cozy cottage. The owner has provided every item needed for a family’s beach vacation. We plan to return for future trips to OBX!
