Wonderful time with family. House was spacious and welcoming. Pool was awesome and enjoyed cooking out. We saw plenty of deer and even a large turtle. Would highly recommend.

Lovely Getaway!

We had a wonderful time. There was comfortable seating for everyone, lots of rooms to break out and have conversations, and the pool was a great way to cool off.

LOVED OUR STAY

We absolutely loved the house, it was beautiful and as described online. The kids enjoyed themselves as well. It was a great and peaceful getaway. If we are ever in the area we will definitely book again.

Lake Murray stay — mixed experienceThe inside of the house was nice, but the exterior really let the place down. The landscaping was overgrown and unkempt, and the whole house needs a good pressure washing. We had a major ant problem inside and out during our stay. The grill was unusable — hadn't been cleaned, was full of old ashes, and honestly needs to be replaced. There was also some kind of water leak in the yard that ran across the driveway the whole time. With some upkeep, this could be a great spot, but it wasn't worth what we paid.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the interior of the home, but we're sorry that aspects of the exterior did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, our landscaping company missed a scheduled service prior to your stay. While the issue was already scheduled to be addressed, it wasn't completed until after your visit. The property has since been serviced. The home has also recently been pressure washed to improve its appearance. We appreciate you bringing the ant activity to our attention. Because the home is located in a wooded, lakeside environment, occasional pest activity can occur despite regular treatment, and we continue to work with our pest control provider to minimize it. Regarding the water running across the driveway, we're not certain of the cause, but we are actively investigating it to ensure any underlying issue is resolved. We value your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve.

This home was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home. It’s private, with a beautiful backyard. The screened in porch is lovely and perfect near the awesome pool which we all enjoyed. There were plenty of linens and towels and a good supply of starter items. Communication and check-in was efficient and local information was provided quickly, like for restaurants, etc. We would definitely request to stay again if ever coming back to the area. Thank you for a great stay!

Heaven at the lake.

We visited Chapin for an engagement party. The house was a perfect rendezvous for us, our adult children and their spouses. The pool was very nice and BIG which made it great for a cool dip. The home was vey nicely appointed and had every amenity that we required. We definitely recommend thus home if you do not have the need to be lakefront.

Perfect for our family

Our families loved staying at this place. We had wonderful times around the fire pit, playing games at the huge dining table, swimming, etc. There were some issues with the property while we were there, but the owner was very attentive and the issues were resolved quickly once he got involved. We cannot say the same for the property manager, point-of-contact person, though the owner is addressing that as well. All in all, great stay and perfect place for us.

Heaven at the Lake.

We were visiting Chapin for an engagement party. The house was perfect for our adult children and their spouses and a great rendezvous point. The house was very nicely Appointed and had all the modern conveniences necessary to be comfortable. The home has a HUGE pool which made it very nice for a cool dip.The owner communication was nice, he reached out on the first day to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this home for anyone staying in Chapin without the need to be on the Lake front.

Property was very clean and overall outstanding! Pool was amazing. Very quite and peaceful location. It really felt like a home away from home. Beds were very comfortable. Would most likely be a 5 star rating except for some minor issues.. being the property lacked some minor household items like cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dish towels, dish soap, tissues, paper towels, plastic storage containers for leftovers, and metal cooking utensils for grill.. ( all witch renter went out and purchased for a week long stay). Normally wouldn't say anything about the items above but the house is renting at a premium price and would expect these items at the house. I spent well over 50 on these items.

Cleanliness matters

The vacation home was beautiful, but they cleaning crew could have done better. There was a stale odor upon entering. Which wasn't a biggie due to candles, but there were stains on the island, in refrigerator, tables, and two of the bed spreads. Ants were in the kitchen sink, on the back wall, and stove. The game room area was covered with hair and tables were all sticky with stains. We swiftly found a nearby dollar general for additional cleaning supplies, bc our family was en route and who has time to book another place right; along with ant spray. Outside of these issues, it was quiet and a nice setup. We did reach out to the owners with photos, they apologized, but that was it. They weren't rude and appreciated feedback, but I wouldn't stay again.

We chose this property because it was listed on VRBO as being in excellent condition, and we were looking forward to a relaxing family vacation. Unfortunately, our experience did not match the listing.The positive was that our children and grandchildren were able to spend quality time together and enjoy the pool. That was the highlight of our trip.However, we encountered several issues during our stay, including a loose pool liner, stained carpet and bedding, cobwebs, an overgrown lawn, plumbing problems in both bathrooms, and, most concerning, rodent droppings throughout the garage/game room (including inside the toy boxes), bait traps, and a live rat. Because of this, the children couldn’t safely use the game room.The hosts were polite, responsive, and acknowledged that several of the conditions were unacceptable. They attempted to arrange cleaning and repairs and provided a partial refund, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, most of the repairs were scheduled for our checkout day, so they did not improve our stay.For the amount we paid, we expected a clean, safe, and well-maintained home that matched its listing. Instead, a significant portion of our vacation was spent reporting issues rather than relaxing with our family.I truly hope the owners address these concerns because the property has great potential. Until those issues are resolved, however, I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

Our stay was very peaceful. The check-in process was smooth and the host and property management company were very responsive during the duration of our stay. I did feel as though with the price being on the higher end the house should have been immaculately clean upon arrival and could use some updates as far as carpet and fixtures go. We did let the host know of the issues & he was very apologetic. I think there were a few inconveniences that should have been taken care of before we arrived as well. Overall if the house would have been more throughly cleaned I would leave five stars. The house itself is very spacious and tucked away. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
