Three Cub Cottage in historic Flat Rock

The bedroom of this cottage is separate from the living/dining area. The bedroom has a king size bed.

The cottage is 610 square feet of panelled coziness nestled in shady woods within walking distance of the Flat Rock Playhouse and Carl Sandburg National Historic Site and Flat Rock's "Rainbow Row" (0.4 mile). The cottage is a separate living area but connected to the owners' house by a common roof.

The cottage is located within the Bonclarken Conference Center. More about Bonclarken can been seen here:

Many excellent restaurants nearby. Many local breweries, wineries, and ciderworks.

Perfectly peaceful place

This property is lovely. So peaceful and clean. Everything was just right: the kitchen, the bathroom, the bed, an extra room for suitcases and laundry. Plus little extras that make a place homey. And, convenient to area attractions or just doing nothing.

3 cubs cabin is quiet and relaxing. It is within an hour of Asheville and Greenville. Roz is an awesome host and is very thoughtful and organized about what she provides for your stay.

Relaxation Galore at 3 Cub

My husband and I had a nicevisit at 3 Cub. We were in the area to attend a production of Dirty Dancing at the Flat Rock Playhouse. The location of the cabin was only a short distance to the theater with several restaurants close by. However, while at the cabin we felt we were in the forest. The cabin was spotless and decorated nicely. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the wine and other snacks that were provided by the host. The outside area was private and so peaceful. We’ll definitely visit 3 Cub in the future.

Great Location

The Three Cub Cottage was delightful. It was just the right size for two people and we enjoyed sitting on the patio listening to the birds and watching the small wildlife - no bears in sight! The cottage was well appointed and stocked. Loved the red wine the hosts provided. We went to attend the Hendersonville Apple Festival which was enjoyable. The location was great for getting to Asheville and other areas and being able to come back to a quiet and restful abode. Looking forward to another stay!

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother born and raised in the panhandle of Florida who loves the western NC mountains.

This property was originally purchased by my husband's paternal grandmother in 1964 when it was known as the Honeymoon Cottage. My husband inherited it from his parents in 1998 and we built an addition to the cottage in 2000. We live in that addition adjacent to the cottage.

When the bears visited, we gave a new name to the cottage.

This property is secluded, surrounded by trees. It is a great neighborhood for walking and the conference grounds supply some seasonal opportunities. Flat Rock Park with hiking trails is less than 1 mile away. The ample trails at Carl Sandburg Historic Site are within walking distance. Flat Rock's Rainbow Row is within walking distance.
