Cozy rustic 50's home with a few updates here and there. Located on a campground beside the Famous Cowichan River in a beautiful woodland area. There are plenty of hiking trails located nearby with a short walk to River access. 7 min drive to downtown Duncan. Take in the Market on Saturdays located in the downtown area with local artisans or tour the Totems. Take a 20 min drive North to see the Chemainus Murals. Some nights, you can hear the peaceful sound of the resident Owls.

This was a wonderful, clean, quiet place for our family to stay while attending family functions in Duncan. Absolutely no complaints except that we found the main bed, the really high one, very soft. Too soft for us but may be okay for others. We did not have any complaints about the other beds from other family members. Our plans got changed and our hosts went out of their way to accomodate us and this was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Extremely good value! Property as described-rustic and clean. Spacious and well stocked. Nice swimming spot in the river, too. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars all around is that none of the windows in the house can be opened (except one, right beside the door). On two days of our visit it was quite hot, and it was difficult to cool the house down. There were several fans which was nice-we just opened the door wide and ran the fans before bedtime. Some more fresh air would have been helpful! On the cooler days it was fine. Would stay again!

This was a fabulous find. Lots of space - comfy beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The location was great and having a lock box for the key meant that both my family and my in-laws could easily access the cabin. If we ever find ourselves back in Duncan for hockey we will be rebooking.

Great stay in a quiet location not far from downtown Duncan. Marcie's place was very clean and comfortable!! The waters of the Cowichan River were very inviting on a hot summer day.

This was a very clean and well equipped cottage. Spacious for our family. Convenient for Duncan centre. It feels retro and quite basic, but is a good base for exploring this area.

We needed a quick stay late at night. It was quaint, or cozy and rustic, just as advertised. It was clean and simple, which was perfect for what we needed.We'd stay here again, for sure.

Cozy Rustic 50's cabin is actually just an old prefab house, with old furniture from the 50's that's had nothing done to it for years. All of the windows seemed to be sealed shut and the smoke alarm does not work. An old pointless freezer full of ice buzzes at night to keep itself going next to the main bedroom. We knew this place backed on to the campsite office, but the office may as well be in the same room, especially as one of the hosts popped in to the office at 10pm at night to do some photocopying. We stayed here because of the location but I wish I had stayed somewhere nicer. This could be an OK place if they invested some time and money in to it. The exterior patio is depressing to sit outside with zero plants and the picnic table is literally falling apart. I dont understand all of these excellent reviews!

My only complaint would be that it was very warm and windows could not open (old house, painted shut) and there was only one working fan. It would be nice to have a fan in everyone and windows that can open.
